  • Jason mannino is the man!

  • Mannino is not a prick, he puts on a damn good show for the fans, if this is not exciting, you don't know racquetball.

  • both guys are way too cocky... its raquetball lets go play a real sport

  • Jason Mannino is a prick...fuck him

  • Wouldn't that be considered a screen at 6:25?

  • Jack deserved that one.

  • Imagine a chicken crossed with a frog. Now imagine the sound it makes. This is the same sound that Jason Mannino makes when he dives.

  • 1:28 = nasty shot. maninno complains way too much for the number of calls he gets his way

  • I can guarantee you if Jack would have won that match, Jason would have walked off the court. MUCH respect for Jack for not letting Jason's bad sportsmanship turn him into a bad sport as well, considering the multiple times Jason would direct comments about Jack being lucky and having the ref on his side for the only reason he was still in the game.

    Jack = Class act.

    Jason = Classless.

  • @jimxxand jasons behavior is extremley disrespectful. would you show this to a junior and tell them this is how you play? mannino clearly has no respect for his opponent which gives a racketball a bad unsportsmanlike image.

  • Greatest display of shot making of any racquet sport, including tennis or squash.

  • Am I the only that saw that Jason DID shake Jack's hand at the end, even though it may be hard to see with the racket in his hand? In no way am I backing up his childish behavior throughout the game, but c'mon he didn't just completely ignore Jack

  • @jestes7 Indeed he does

  • Jason has always been a jerk, always will be.

  • jason is a terrible sport... id break my racquet over that guys nose...

  • Awesome match

  • It's painfully obvious that Jason is a terrible sportsman and screams like a dinosaur. My respect goes to Jack for keeping his composure throughout the game.

  • @twayyyyy to be fair, Jack is normally a quiet, reserved, introverted dude whereas Jason is the complete opposite. you're criticism amounts to critiquing his persona, basically.

  • this is definately the best match ive ever seen on youtube this is awesome i wish racquetball would come on tv though

  • @jglfman i definitely agree

  • LOL at 6:00 when they're chanting JASON! JASON! you hear one guy yelling JACK! lol

  • In 1:25 jason sounded like an elephant... lol

    Great get tho...

  • hahaha

  • @jesusgarciab: HAHAHAHA dude seriously made me L O L.

  • @jesusgarciab LMAO

  • The ball at 2:11 looked like a perfect, flat roll-out. Didn't have any backspin off the front wall and it sounded clean. It may have been close enough to question it, but it looked and sounded good.

What bothers me is Aaron Katz (yes, one of the 2 douchebag announcers) simply says "that ball was a skip!", as if he knows 100% for certain. You could stand at the front wall and look down at that shot and still not know.

    Awesome match, douchebag announcers.

  • @racquetballtim you are right that you cannot be sure if that was a skip or not, but as I see it if you watch carefully, you can see some backspin in my opinion...

  • Shawn and Aaron did a good job, far from the name you used.

  • negative nancy

    =@

  • @mckeifus youre fuckin retarded. its one of the best matches in the history of racquetball

  • I know what an ass.

  • I doubt you could manage to pull off those shot in a lifetime, bro. I guess you have no idea how hard that stuff is. If your saying it's not enjoyable to watch, well ok, your opinion, that's all good.

  • Mannino makes funny noises when he dives.

  • you all need to take up squash. this game is so limited. it's half the game squash is.

  • squash is half the court of racquetball.... lol. Squash just isn't as fun for me. Some people like tennis, some people like racquetball, some people love all games with rackets.

  • @pamlawrence1 youre ignorant

  • Jason Mannino is a world class asshole.

  • Jason Mannino is such a poor sportsman. When you win and the loser comes up to shake your hand, shut the hell up and shake their hand. Don't keep yelling in victory.

  • @kazokazo68 agreed

  • man listen to that video crowd

  • wow....

gatta love shawn royster though...that man definatly loves this game

    fantastic game

  • amazing match but I think beltran vs waselenchuk in us open 2008 was better!

  • ive been waiting soooo long for that match to show up on the tennis channel! im almost tempted to spend $40 on the dvd just to watch it.

  • its an amaazing match, trust me $40 are worth it!

  • That's all they know how to do.

  • agree!

  • LOOOOOOOOOOLLLL

  • Huczek is so classy. How could anyone cheer for the loudmouth Mannino?

I'm new to racquetball and this vid just inspires me.

  • Mannino's dives are awesome; his extroverted unique personality puts the crowd under his control. He'll lose his temper one minute then the next minute he'll regain his composure ready to dive-kill the ball.

Huczek on the other hand is quiet, introverted, intense. He'll kill the ball from chest-high deep court. His back-hand can be lethal at times.

Each to his own. Each pro racquetball player has a unique personality that they bring to the court that adds flavor to any game.

    Enjoy!

  • Well said.

  • Only youtubers feel so. Not racquetball fans...listen to them cheer.

  • Well, then maybe you should have some more humility.

And yes, the fact that you are here telling me I'm irritating makes me very happy. I pray I never impress anyone that relates to you.

    Enjoy that life of yours...lol....riiiiiight..

  • Jason looks exactly like that Crazy german guy from Balls Of Fury

  • You are a really good person. Class act! Your opinion matters.

I'm so happy I offend people like you. That means I'm doing everything right.

  • Mannino is an ass.

  • WOW! You have some pretty serious mental problems.

  • Who cares about the prize money.

  • What's wrong with you people! Are you really that small of a person? Unpopular? Get beat up a lot?

    I feel sorry for you!

  • I got more negative points arguing with jayball711 than this guy did with his obviously vulgar comment. Amazing. LOL

  • I mean, c'mon folks. There's a difference between showmanship and being a douchebag. There's a difference between being emotional and being a child. There's a difference between arguing with the ref and being disrespectful to your opponent. This isn't WWE.

They're both clearly talented players, except that Mannino's ridiculous behavior is why most people don't take racquetball seriously.

This isn't a club game where, when you beat your buddy, you get to yell "suck it".

    Get over yourself.

  • One of the other differences between Squash and Rball is that when the opponent knows the call is wrong in Squash, he gives it up. The reason I pointed is because Jack was TRYING to steal a call. Which is more acceptable, my pointing or the other player trying to get a call he knows is wrong?

Also, in Racquetball, players often get emotional. It's "normal" in racquetball to get excited. There's a difference between conduct in Tennis, and football.

Hope that helps clear it up.

  • Even in Squash you can't always count on your opponent, but look to the referree to get it right.

I agree that RBall players have more license to be expressive, as opposed to Squash where you follow the more staid (stuffy??) British tradition. Even the crowds are way more subdued. All you usually get for your efforts is polite clapping.

I recently took up RBall, and trying to get a handle on ceiling shots. Wish there were more high quality videos on Youtube.

  • And again, calling me names. Now I'm a "prick". What a man.

  • Actually, reflecting on one of my comments on understanding the amount of work involved in professional play - I can never fully understand how hard it is to be near-top in racquetball unless I have done it myself. I can though, sympathize due to other things that have taken me a while to conquer.

  • Like what? Video games?

Kid, you can't understand, sympathise, or scrape the surface or what I feel on any level. Just keep sitting around being negative, talking trash about people you don't know, calling them names, and being a troll. It's what you're good at.

  • Difference between me and you is that my opinion matters.

  • I understand the repetition involved and practice required to get to that level of play. When you and Huczek are playing, if there it was two-sided, then it would seem like an act. When Huczek isn't doing any of the same stuff that you're doing, it just seems unjustified in acting like that. Get it yet? Sure, write stuff in crayons; I wouldn't need it though since I have grapheme synesthesia.

Of course opinions are subjective. They are practically synonymous!

  • Fernandez218, thanks for your response. However, your "OPINION" is purely SUBJECTIVE!!! You stated "there is a fine line between good and bad sportsmanship." Can you tell us who determines this?

Also, you stated that you: "was just responding to Jason first." Alright, now can you respond to my question which was are you just as critical of other athletes, the example I gave was Jimmy Connors, when they show, according to you, bad sportsmanship by yelling and interacting with the crowd?

  • Fernandez218, I read your responses, but noticed you didn't answer the question I asked you which was: are you just as critical of athletes in other sports who scream when they win or interacts with the crowd? I gave the example of Jimmy Connors, who, when he played, did all those things. If you are not as critical, then it seems like you have an ax to grind with Mannino.

  • Of course I'm not saying that if you can't scream when you win. The line is fine between good and bad sportsmanship. It's the manner in which you yell and the context of the situation that also must be taken into consideration when considering whether a person is showing good or bad sportsmanship.

  • Your opinion doesn't count! The line is not fine..your opinion is a joke! And I'm glad I came here to show everyone what a joke you are...

  • Chill out dude. I was just responding to "Jason" first. I answered it. I have nothing personal against Mannino. I've seen this one video of him. I saw the video. I saw that he acted "like a monkey" and seemed to me that he showed NOT GOOD sportsmanship.

  • Fernandez218, I would like to ask a question. Do you feel the same way about other athletes in other sports who scream when they win or is it just Mannino? For example, take the great tennis player Jimmy Connors. When he was playing, He'd scream when he win a point, the game, as well as interact with the crowd. Would you state that Connors was "screaming like a monkey" if you saw him doing this? Again do you say the same thing about other athletes, or do you have a ax to grind with Mannino?

  • There are plenty of people like him. They're not fans of the game, who understand competitiveness or that are successful in competition. They don't care to understand the battle, emotion, or work that goes into being successful and the feelings that take place when you're in the heat of the moment. They are critical of things they can't understand, and are to afraid or lazy to try to achieve. I appreciate your question.

    Enjoy the game,

  • I'm commenting on this video only. This is my OPINION. I'm allowed to have one - lmao. As for this "tough guy behind a computer thing" - this is just lame. I'm not trying to bash you. It's not my fault you perceived it like that. I used metaphors to help you see how I see it. If you don't like them, that's your problem.

  • Yes, you did bash me. If you're not smart enough to see that, well that's not my problem either. I have an opinion too, and will convay it as I see fit. Which I'm allowed to....

  • Your opinion, once again. You know what they say about opinions....

  • Mannino looks retarded yelling like that; so, you won? Must you scream like a monkey instead of acting like a human and showing some good sportsmanship.

  • Sportsmanship? Coming from someone that said "scream like a monkey, and that I didn't act human"? Are you joking? I don't cheat, I play hard, I interact with the crowd, and have a personality...hmmmm...and you need more from me... I guess that thousands of people that were there cheering for me don't lead you to believe that you're over reacting, or that you're just DEAD WRONG!

  • Ughhhh "Coming from someone that said 'scream like a monkey'..." I said that you were screaming like a monkey, yes. Did I say you cheat? Are you actually reading what I'm saying? Or lumping my comment onto other comments? Obviously your idea of sportsmanship is ongoing with the retarded crowd. Look up what it means before you make yourself look like an idiot.

  • Yes, I'm Jason!

All you have done is come here and insult me. Call me an idiot, a monkey, stupid, and not human. And you think your voice is actually heard. Well you sit behind a computer and acts like a tough guy. What does that make you? Can you think of any discriptive words that sum you up? I think everyone that reads this will come up with their own theory of what you are.

  • Jeez, you do like inserting words don't you? I never called you an idiot, or stupid. I called you a screaming monkey. That's about it. You were screaming, maybe not exactly like a monkey, but the db were probably the same.

My voice heard? On youtube? Stop with the lame comments and go practice racquetball if you really are putting all of your "battle, emotion" into it.

  • What I'm saying has nothing at all to do with your skill, or whether or not you cheated. Obviously, if you are Mannino, you have skill if you made it to the 2006 US open. Acting like that in the game just seems unnecessary and stupid.

  • My sportsmanship, which you question, is summed up by my honesty, integrity, ability, work ethic, personality, interaction with the crowd, which has lead to my immense fan base. I was simply stating facts which refute your ridiculous comments. Do you understand now, or do I need to write it in crayon for ya?

You're a negative person, which sadly there are a lot of out there. A common troll. Good luck in life, you're gonna need it.

  • I'm not trying to be negative here. You don't any perspective in the matter. It's easy to just go ahead and dismiss me as "oh it's just another troll being a troll", instead of having some perspective on the matter.

  • You don't need to "try" to be negative...you are negative!

  • I'm very consistent. I treat all trolls equally. Don't need "new retorts" from the same old cowardly trolling posts. Same trolling, same responses..get it.

If you'd like to have a battle of IQ's, I'd be happy to put some money up on it. Do you have any money? Or, since you're into sports, I'd be happy to play you in a battle of sports. We can pick 5 sports each, put them in a hat, draw 5 out of the had, and play for let's say..... $5,000?

  • lol - I'm only 18. How old are you? Why would I make a bet against you playing a sport - you play professionally ...

And so what if I'm negative? Even if you accusation is close to being right, it doesn't matter. It has nothing to do with my comment on your sportsmanship, which is what this whole thing is about. I watched your last game - go on with your bank of 'troll' responses - and you showed bad sportsmanship IMO.

  • And there you have it. You're a kid, with a big mouth, and nothing to back it up. I should actually talk to your parents about how they raised a snot nosed little troll.

This is my last post to you. You're empty.

I always leave off the same way with trolls. Good luck in life...you're gonna need it.

  • Also, if you're justified in how you "interact with the crowd" why do you feel the need to respond to some random person online? Why do you care? Who cares? I posted to post. You're giving the "more from me".

  • When I get called out, I like to respond. Are you annoyed that you look like an idiot? Of course you don't want me to respond. You want to degrade a person without having to be held accountable. Common coward! I respond because people should read the other side, not just the rants of a coward.

  • I look like an idiot? Since you obviously don't know what sportsmanship means - which is what this whole thing is SUPPOSED to be about - I will write down the definition given in my Webster's dictionary.

  • sportsmanship - qualities and behavior befitting a sportsman. Well, what is a sportsman, technically?

sportsman - a person who can take loss or defeat without complaint, or victory without gloating, and who treats his opponents with fairness, generosity, courtesy, etc.

  • I exhibit all the words used in the definition. I guess you just don't understand the joy of success. I did'nt gloat, wasn't I unfair, at the end of each match I take my victory of defeat without complaint or gloating, I never talked down to my opponent, I shook his hand after the match...i'm very proud of my behavior. Are you proud of yours? Think about what type of person you feel would disrespect a pro athlete by calling him stupid, not human, and a monkey.great charactoristics u have.

  • You may be interacting with the crowd, but you are not displaying good sportsmanship by yelling like an idiot. The crowd may enjoy it, I'm not arguing with you there - it doesn't make it good sportsmanship. I'm not degrading you. I never said any of these things were facts anyways. This is my opinion. I can type it on Youtube if I want; deal with it.

  • That was an amazing match. Thanks for posting.

  • LOL, id be more than happy to. Whats he gonna do, hit me with his racquet? hahahahaaahah

  • I was hoping Jack would win. I hate arrogant pricks like Jason. If I were Jack I'd challenge him to a real fight out on the street for being so disrespectful. Assholes like that need a good asskicking to humble them. The reason why Jason is so cocky is probably because he hasn't got popped in the mouth yet.

  • This is a great game but Mannino needs to stop being an ass. Cant believe he was being that rude to Jack. All his screaming and dramatics is fine but he cant treat his opponent the way he wants. Wait till you get your ass ripped the next time... Jack ass!

  • Thanks for posting this match! I could do without Mannino's histrionics, but still great play.

  • I feel what ppl want to see in racquetball sometimes are drama over the sportmanship. Frankly this is unimaginable for open challenge of referee in any other sports. But Jason does, constantly, which i personally think it is a negative influence for the sport. Many of the calls are questionable, which is also a problem of this sport. But the biggest problem of this match is the fact that one miscall may result another miscall that just to "balance" the game which is beyond unfair for any sport.

  • jasons a d00sh!

  • Racquetball is the 2nd highest calorie burning sport in the world. 800 sq/ft court, ball moving at 180+ mph. Maybe the problem that you are having is your junior high school education, and lack of athletic ability. I play Tennis on the off-season because it's LOW impact, and simple. I'm 175 lbs of muscle, in pro athlete shape, equal to any pro athlete in the world. Nice try though little guy. Back to your newspaper route (which by the way is more of a workout than Tennis).

  • 175 of muscle my ass

  • BTW, I'm friends with most of the guys on tour. I hang out with them in the off-season, roomed with several players this year, have dinner with them at events, and so on. Get your information right kiddo....

  • LOL...

Go to a Tennis blog so you can all pat yourselves on the back.

  • I use Pro Kennex equipment. I help design, and play-test all of it, so needless to say I'm very happy with it.

Gearbox makes good equipment as well.

  • I only care about what my fans think.

  • Actually my friends call me Mr. Everything.. so maybe the latter fits.

  • Everyone is entitled to their own opinion about Mannino, but they cant say he isnt a great player, or that he is a quitter. In all sports, people will have different playing styles and attitudes, and becoming involved and shouting is his method of playing and staying cool.

  • Weird how Jack doesnt seem to be a favorite player with many players, or for that matter, the crowd. I was in one of his clinics and he was very down to earth and nice. Dont see what people dont like. Anyone have an answer?

  • Tennis is 100x easier to learn. I played tennis my whole life. It got way too boring, the ball moves too slow. I learned the correct way to hit a tennis ball in 4 weeks of lessons, it's a joke. I started playing Rball with a friend. I actually had fun playing and got very addicted. Took me 3 years to learn the "correct swing biomechanics". Like kenny said.. very very few people even hit correctly without using any muscles.

  • just so you know, racquetball was actually developed to be more like handball. that is why it is played on the same court as handball. the only similarity between racquetball and tennis is the fact that you strike a ball with a racquet. other than that, they have almost nothing in common.

  • how can you, as a tennis player, criticize mannino's attitude when tennis has had guys such as... oh let me think... JOHN MACENROE!!! Dont get me wrong, i agree that mannino complains a bit too much but that's not that big of a deal. every sport has players like that.

  • Mannino uses Pro-Kennex. I don't know what he thinks of Gearbox but the club players i know who use Gearbox are very happy with the quality of the Gearbox equipment.

  • mannino talks way too loud and too much. too bad the other guy didnt scrub him

  • jpgrfan, i dont think that is jason mannino, if you actually want to converse with him, let me know..i can get any question you want to ask him. seriousely. but anyway, yeah, racquetball is not a retarded cousin of tennis, it was more popular than tennis in the 70'2-mid 80's. do some research before you make such an absurd remark. this shows such stupidity. it is a sport that takes time to master, and very few people do that because its difficult to do. have you even ever played it?!

  • It is unbelievable that you cant watch this on espn...

  • No worries Jay...you can't expect a youngster that does not have the love and passion for this game to understand. He doesn't know you or Jack and has probably never been to a pro match or stepped on the court with a pro. What you displayed was REAL. What Jack displayed was REAL. Two different people with two different ways of displaying emotion.

  • buttlicker

  • Mannino needs to be humbled, he had a poor attitude the whole match. Aside from that thank you beachbum for uploading this amazing games.

  • Humble me then!

Try reading posts from anonymous cowards that pick you apart for no reason. I'm not humble when I have to defend myself son....

  • Hmmm, for no reason? How about the fact that you have some of the worst sportsmanship I've ever seen. Not really sure when I "picked you apart" either, but good try. Not only are you "not humble" when you defend yourself, but you also do a terrible job of it. Have a wonderful day.

  • You were just 1 of the 3 or so negative people that had a negative comment after watching a few minute clip of one of the greatest matches ever. My attitude was so bad that the fans were all chanting my name! Those thousands of fans negate your limited and blind opinion. I spent infinite time trying to improve my craft, my skills, and my legacy. My personality is coveted by many. One day you may understand why. Try attaining something in life, other than watching thousands of online videos

  • You were just 1 of the 3 or so negative people that had a negative comment after watching a few minute clip of one of the greatest matches ever. • Nice double post, I guess that means you're really serious. As for me trying to attain something I may be about to transfer colleges to begin study on being a contemporary worship leader, so I guess you're right why waste time with my beliefs? And have you noticed how Jack played these games? You might have missed it, but most refer to it as respect. Anyway, maybe you should stick to the training instead of arguing online via youtube with someone you don't even know.

  • Leader? LOL. Still trying to figure out what you're going to do with life? Good luck.

Jack is quiet on the court because he's a quiet guy. Not for "respect". Nice try. Maybe you should speak about something you understand. Any suggestions?

I certainly don't need any advice from you. You're not qualified. Let me know when you succeed in something. Well, besides wasting countless hours on youtube! Time for a job smarty.

Good luck out there. It's a jungle.

  • Aw, smarty, that's cute. Maybe you should speak about something when you already know the facts. I'm currently a worship leader (which is considered a job) and would like to further my education in that field to have more options once I graduate. Clearly you know nothing about college, because most freshmen and sophomores' majors are undecided but again good try; and to your comment about Jack, does that mean your loud, obnoxious, and begging for attention off the court?

  • You're 23 years old. Undecided still? Still a Freshman? LOL You sound confused and insecure? Worship leader? Yeah, negative, condescending, judgemental, and mean spirited. You're no leader. You're a HYPOCRITE!

I'm competitive - and successful. Two things you know nothing about, and will NEVER know anything about! You don't even know who and what you are. Keep searching little guy.

You can go back to wasting thousands more hours watching videos now. You're outmatched!

  • I'm watching Sharapova and Bonderenko play right now, and they fist pumped and yelled every point in the tiebreaker on their first set. Kinda funny that young Tennis pros get it, but you (the mighty spiritual leader) just cant wrap your mind around this obvious concept. Maybe you just need something to be excited about, since you clearly have NOTHING going on!

That will be my last post to you. You've been right about one thing...i should stop wasting my time on people like you.

    Later-

  • I'm 21, and I'm sorry if what I've said came off as mean spirited. I admit I was probably way more sarcastic than I should've been, and again apologize. I still don't agree with your attitude at some points in the match and you see it as ok (which is fine we can just agree to disagree). Anyway, God has blessed you with athletic ability and I hope you use it for His glory. Again, I'm sorry for anything I said that came across in a condescending way. Best wishes and I'll be praying for you.

  • What´s with americans and jesus freaks all over the country and specially youtube??? I can´t watch ONE video here without reading comments involving religion!! What the fuck foes religion has to do with anything in youtube that´s no religious!!!

  • That ball skipped

  • That ball skipped

  • That ball skipped

  • Wow. Just read these comments, and didn't realized how much I was being blasted here. If the ball skipped, then Jack would have been a little more mad that I stole match point. And since I was there, i'm 100% sure I rolled that ball! The person that "should have won" DID WIN!

I will take the "loud mouth, show boy" comment as a compliment. Thanks.

  • "thats almost as bad as being the us open champ of frisbee golf or lawn bowling."

rball is way more than that

  • All I can see is your jealousy. I'm pretty sure EVERYONE reading this can see it.

Good luck with your successes - if you have any.

  • JM I went back and watched the match again. You make a good point about the skip call.I think Jack would have protested more and it's really impossible to tell on here if it skipped.I've played at the open level when I was younger and I can tell by how a shot sounds and to me it sounded good.

I also criticized you for being a jerk.I thought a couple times you could have reeled it in a bit like when you smacked the ball off the back wall and said to Jack he had the ref and luck on his side.

  • Well, that's how I felt. I could "reel" it in, but what kind of excitement would that be? IMO, sports need personality - and I give it all I have.
