Strange I just realized I lived this song, man tears and all. Not quite sure what is meant in the lyrical chorus of the song here "my sacrifice". My personal interpretation is that I was the sacrifice (the choice to experience life without me was the sacrifice). I decided to cut my former love's flutter down memory lane short. I would just like to add my two cents here - there are a lot of different ways to interpret the Bible and other holy books, depending on religion. And there is literally no scientific proof that there ISN'T a God - just as there is no proof that one DOES exist. So you can't be so certain until you've actually tried to find out for yourself.

And how often does it say that God does know? Psalm 139:1-4 David talks about how God knows everything he does even before he does it. Hebrews 4:13 says "Nothing in all Creation is hidden from God." Honestly I don't care what anyone on here has to say about what is right or wrong because I have my own opinion just like all of you and nothing said is going to change that. Strange I just realized I lived this song, man tears and all. Not quite sure what is meant in the lyrical chorus of the song here "my sacrifice". My personal interpretation is that I was the sacrifice (the choice to experience life without me was the sacrifice). I decided to cut my former love's flutter down memory lane short. He's one for great memories but no future.
- Sang from a male perspective this song shows lots of self involvement & little sensitivity 4 the lover. Great melody though!

I would just like to add my two cents here - there are a lot of different ways to interpret the Bible and other holy books, depending on religion. And there is literally no scientific proof that there ISN'T a God - just as there is no proof that one DOES exist. So you can't be so certain until you've actually tried to find out for yourself.

The laws were passed in order to show how seriously God takes sin, and that "the wages of sin is death." It was also a 'fear' system. How many people dared insult their parents or steal with such consiquences? But then God sent Christ, who died for us. He gave us a way out so that we wouldnt die (eternally).

@lialessence Since god is "the same yesterday, today, and forever, . . . his thoughts, at one part in history, will be the same in ANY moment of history. If you truly are a follower, then you MUST put homosexuals to death, along with unruly children and witches.
If you cannot do that, then ask yourself why it is moral for any deity to demand it of its people. Jesus's [human] sacrifice, as a "way out" holds no logical sense. It was HIS rule that he had to appease himself to forgive .

He is the same in the sense that He wants the very best for us as a whole. Without Christ the Law was the best option. And the good thing is that I dont have to, "MUST" as you put it except get over myself and accept something for free. That can be pretty hard at times. Why does Christ make no logical sense? Everything in the OT was based on "blood for sin," sacrifice a lamb or a dove for our sins. Why dont we sacrifice anymore? If the law were still the main thing, we "MUST." But Christ died.

Your first sentence is a complete self interpretation. The meaning is actually obvious. "The Law" was hardly "the best option". It was full of competely unethical and loveless rules. Anyone with an open mind can see this.
The "sacrifice of Jesus" makes no logical sense. Jesus is God, who created [or set up] rules that were broken, making him angry, and since no one could appease him, he had to come himself, to sacrifice himself to himself so he would no longer be angry. Yes, illogical

The way it you put it, it does sound illogical. But isn't it a little arrogant to say that we can confine God within our box of logic? Who are we to tell Him what to do and to judge what he does? If we do not believe the basics: God is eternal, self sufficient, good, just and faithful... then Christianity wont make any sense. You need to try it to understand it.

Not arrogant at all. And we are perfectly right TO judge this deity, IF what is written about it is true. This deities morals are lacking, IMO. Ethics and morals can be said to be found in the study of logic and when something goes drastically against a logical ethic, then I will call it as I see it. You are free to believe and follow whatever religion you wish, but I will be against any religion that wants unquestioning obedience in the face of an unethical request. ie Abraham and Isaiac.

Abraham and Isaac are not really a good example, as God did not let Abraham kill his son in the end.
What I meant when I said that we cannot judge God's actions is that we really cant even logically or ethically make a deep enough analisys. We do not see the whole picture, the events building up to a descision and what effect it will have on the future. Only God knows all that.
If I believe in the Biblical God, then he is infinite and I am finite.

This "only god knows" is just the christian way to rationalize that which they [christians] KNOW to be unethical. In the example of Abraham and Isaiac, it doesn't matter that he didn't let Abraham go through with it. The VERY ACT of 'asking for a father to kill his son' is HIGHLY immoral/unethical. You know this to be the case.
As for "god knows all", . . . I don't think so. There are several places in your bible that shows your god to be less than the "omni three" characteristics.

You do know alot about the bible, alot more than many "Christians" do. I respect that, it is always good to know the other side. However where, in the Bible, does God not know? And how often does it say that God does know? Psalm 139:1-4 David talks about how God knows everything he does even before he does it. Hebrews 4:13 says "Nothing in all Creation is hidden from God." So be careful when you quote the bible.
And ethics are relative. What if God, and not culture, defines "good?"
