  • Nice video.

  • Lewis Howard Latimer, create the light bulb not Edison, Lewis Latimer worked in Edison technologies development firm, but because Edison owned the firm, he acquired the rights to anything that was created in his firm.

Research it, not meaning on (Wiki websites) !

  • Keep up !

  • I'm trying to build Edison's fluorescent lamp.

  • i could of done that without this video

  • @billy3530 how did u keep ur jar air tight with the wires leading out? that is my biggest and only problem.

  • @microwavemaster448 Burn a candle with the cover closed. This will burn up the oxygen and create a vaccum.

  • thanks for the new science project

  • thats more of a humphry davy or warren de la rue experiment on a budget!

To be an Edison one you would need a high resistance carbonised bamboo filament and the jar would to be a vacuum.

  • Or, you can just light the candle and be done... ;)

  • cool

  • Thanks for the video... plz make more :)

  • IF filament cannot be burn because of oxygen, then x must eliminate the oxygen in the bulb, therefore the filament can now be burn :) ....... Thomas Edison was very lucky .

  • "In order for something to burn; it needs oxygen. So we are going to try to eliminate the oxygen. " ????

  • @dan020350 yup that means the filament would not burn out as oxygen makes the filament melt =]

  • Does that mean i can replace my burnt light bulb and replace the wire inside with a new one ?

  • @dan020350 Yes if you have the facilities to create the vacuum and actually take the light apart to take out the wire

  • can you list the materials and where can you acquired it ? :)

  • @dan020350 You can

use alligator clips from radioshck, picture hanging eire and the battery from Walmart, and a jar from the container store or ikea or walmart

  • @janeshchhabra Thank you so much you saved my entire science project !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
