Ok... well did you know he spends a lot of time in India where he stays at an ashram with orphans teaching them and learning from a master and donates a ton of money, as for the accent... he spends time in other countries and speaks different languages. Hes not a poser just a spiritual person sharing his journey in the form of vibrations, just like I do.
So, I saw Trevor Hall open for John Butler trio saturday at Red Rocks. I've gotta say, I really wanted to like him, the music is smooth and easy to listen to, but, I just couldn't get past the fake accent, and the whole poser act. I find it a little difficult to listen to somone sing about all these world troubles, all while standing barefoot on stage, swinging his "dredlocks" , and knowing that he is from South Carolina, an attended a very prestigious arts high school in California.
He's not the first person to use a fake accent. as for the poser act, I fail to see that. Here is someone that was born into luck, and is using the privileges he was afforded in life to better someone else's. Just because he wasn't raised in poverty and overcame doesn't mean that he should be labeled a poser for trying to help people less fortunate.
trevor is definitely NOT a poser..soo im sorry you got that impression but you are dead wrong about that.
and it doesnt matter where somebody is from but what they do and where they go in their lives.
and i dont know why you put quotes around dreadlocks...because they are definitely dreads
and he went to that school to better himself as a musician and improve in his trade. it doesnt make him a sell out..doesnt make him a poser. he met very influential..to be continued
met influentail people that were from all over the world and all had different experiences. just because it was an academy of arts doesnt mean he is some prestigious hoity toidy type.
im sorry you didnt enjoy it..its not for everybody i guess.
but if you open up..you may see how inspiring and up lifting and legitimate he is.
i hope one day you can realize it.
he has changed many lives..and its a blessing to have his music.
@SunWillSomedayRise you're judging the artist and not the art. it's all about the music. and since when does the color of your skin define what accent you can have? I'm white and i would give anything to be able to sing in a nice Jamaican accent
