I was there in the tri-oval. It was really windy that day about 20-25 mph winds..that's what made the car lift up in the air especially once the axel fell off the car the air just got under the car like the wing of an airplane.

@gtapersonguy they allowed it from '97 to '08 I think. Now they're driving without aids. And in 1950 first official championship started, they all didn't even know the word traction control. For more than 40 years no aids were allowed (or developed). The traction control came after the fatal crashs of Senna and Ratzenberger at one weekend in '94. But now, that F1 is much safer, they prohibited every single aid again. I think it's good like it's now with F1. (sure nowadays the races are boring)
