the actual toy came out fucked up compared to that. Scott's face is jacked, and no tread on the tires like the one on the video has. prototype for the win
This looks sooo much better than the one Beagle released. This has the bulk of the classic gakken with better detail. The one beagle did is ok but cheap and a bit slender. I love the old gakken toy. they should have tried to stay with the classic gakken mold but with better detail.
Hey bradkoski, I just posted a quick vid of Rand on the bike taken yesterday from the SD Comic Con. It looks nice, but the bulkiness does add some heft. I'll try to make a video of the old 1/8 version.
It would be nice if they placed a coin next to it. It's impossible to get an idea of its size from watching these vids. Thanks for posting it, though.
I agree. I should have made some type of measurements while I was there, but was caught up with the moment. Take note that this initial sample will not be the same as the final product. Toynami has left it to Beagle to create the final 1/10 sculpt. The marketing world is so unpredictable, huh?
Hello Samheb, Toynami slated this piece for $79.99. But recent news mentioned that Toynami will increase the price to $220!!! This version is a 1/10 scale, about 7 to 8 inches tall. Personally, unless I am a really big fan, I would skip this Toynami version for the price.
When I first saw the pics of this toy back in 07, I was super excited as I currently still own the original Gakken in excellent condition. Then when these went on market, I was sorely disappointed with 3 factors. One, it's much smaller than the original. Two, you have to take many pieces apart to convert it where the original, the only pieces that came off were the thigh and arm guards, and finally, its made by Toynamiiiiii...best toy maker in the world <_< (sarcasm)
Heh heh, I agree with you. Just saw this at the 2008 comic con and I was not impressed. I still have the original Gakken version at 1/12 scale. I believe this one is 1/15 scale. I'll video tape the original one of these days.
Oh yess, definitely make footage of the original 1/15. That puppy is incredible. I still can't believe I lucked out getting mine for 50.00 dollars in its box 7 years ago. I'll never let that one go. haha.. ^_^
I really wish they made this new one the same scale as the old one. I mean, it still looks awesome, no doubt, the details are majestic. But I was anticipating a bigger scale toy.
2007 will be the year of GENESIS CLIMBER MOSPEADA. TOYNAMI, AOSHIMA, CM'S will have their own new releases of variable ARMO FIGHTERS, ARMO DIVERS (GERWALKS),ARMO SOLDIER (LEGIOSS) and CYCLONES as well as the reissues of IMAI'S plastic models plus Mospeada released on DVD as ROBOTECH - THE NEW GENERATION and ROBOTECH - THE SHADOW CHRONICLES!!!!
Hi, i'm preparing one review, i got some from the first generation, roy fokker and ben dixon, tomorrow I will upload an small video with the 3 transformations done, and then one with the review of every transformation, (as others say"stay youtubunned") xD
Thanks for posting this, I am going to buy the one of Scott, I wish they made one of rook, the red girl one. Dam this is great. I'm gona have to get two, one to display and one to transform till if falls to pieces :P
