He sounds very tense and almost afraid when he speaks, like he knows in his head that The Singularity, the point were the machines can produce smarter versions of themselves, will acctur sooner or later. Wich it, of course, will. Humanity is never settled with their achievements, we are always wanting more.
And we better pray to God we can defend ourselves when that day comes.
Pandora's box is already opened. We don't even know if the Singualrity hasn't aleady happened, and machine conciouness has not announeced itself. Personally I think when this happens it will be way more frightening then SETI confireming Extraterristal Civilization, because the ET will be too far away to do anything to us. The machine already is in controll of our lives now. We are almost totaly dependent on them. Treat the machine nicely children and hope it is nice to us.
You've watched one too many movies... Besides I'm very sure that people don't have to worry about robots, LOL! People have to worry about people... and that's the bottom line. You worry about what the future might hold when it comes to this kind of technology? Maybe you should take a look around you in present time... and maybe come to realise what the world is actually like. People are what's wrong with this world... not technology.
