I think it was written for a movie called "Requiem for a Dream" ... but I don't know if the song was already 'famous' before that movie came..?! But as far as I know, the song was also used for the trailer to Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers..

I think it's composed by a man called Clint Mansell, but again I'm not sure..
