  • the poland solo has a sorta Rush feel to it

  • These demos.... I... I fucking love them... I can't decide if they're better than the original, or dead even. Because these just have that "SFSGSW feel" (Thanks Poland!) to them. And I really like that. And I don't have to say a damn thing about why the versions on RIP are amazing. Either way, Thanks for uploading these man!

  • holy shit!, sounds good!

  • imagen would culd happen with mustaine in metallica? no you cant so relax and enjoy this fucking great music.

  • i love the poland work but in this song marty WINS

  • I listen to this just to hear Poland's solos. So fkin unique!!!

  • @ventor11225

Poland dont play this solo dude ...

    it plays marty friedman

  • @MrNuznes This is a demo, it is performed by Chris Poland

  • @demoworldfan

    oh ok sorry :/

  • @MrNuznes L2Megadeth. This is Poland playing on the demo..

  • Even on demo, still kick-ass..

  • Metallica is good, megadeth is god. Even though I like the two bands for me megadeth is way better.

  • it sounds so far so good so what XD

  • Metallica is good,Megadeth is better will you guys just let it sink?

  • This sounds so raw compared to the album version. LOVE IT.

  • best HW ever

  • Chris Poland is so underrated. He's really an amazing player. Songs like this demo and rattlehead really show how awesome that guy is. His solos are really different from Marty in this song, but how can anyone say that solo at 4:12 is not insanely badass?

  • I actually prefer the part at 2:09 in this version more than the other one. In some ways, I prefer this whole version actually.

  • Chris Poland played on this demo. same guy that was on Killing is My Business and Peace Sells

  • @mrbrownstone909 Impossible

  • @Megadething impossible? he played on this and the rust in peace demo. he was going to rejoin megadeth but the album was already written and he felt he wouldn't have any input. so he left after recording the two demos

  • bit diffrent.

  • sounds like a synth on the solo at 3:21

  • dru sovntr alovner vñsd??

  • @SitotiKurton yeah i have problems remembering the keys, but usually when i make up riffs or solos, if it sounds good, its fine by me.

  • @SitotiKurton yeah that is true, but if you're talking about just getting it from the paper then being able to read music is the better way.

  • @SitotiKurton not really, tabs dont tell you how long to hold a note

  • That sounds almost like a synth solo instead of a guitar solo??!!! How did they get that sound???!!!!!

  • @maddermofo probably drowning it in random shit from boss

  • @maddermofo Well... That's a guy named Chris Poland... He's awesome :)

  • @cghghgm He was well out of the band by then dude!!!! Is it not Marty??!!!

  • @SitotiKurton oh i know that, ive been playing guitar for 3 years now and ive been told im the best in my town. i take lessons for theory just so i can have somewhat knowledge of how to read music rather than tablature ya know? theory doesnt make you good, but it gives you the capability of reading music ya know?

  • @SitotiKurton easy tiger

  • Little did they know that when they were putting this song together, that they were creating a thrash metal masterpiece.

  • These solos are not by Marty. I heard Chris Poland did some of the solos on the demos, but this doesn't sound like Chris on this song. If it is him, he didn't give a shit about what he was doing or he was drunk, cuz last time i saw him play, he was fucking incredible, this tone sounds all processed and shitty. Not the Chris Poland I know

  • @metallicspades I don't think so. The guy is a virtuoso. And at least 5 times better than me. And I think sweeping is easy. :)

  • Metallica doesn't sound like Megadeth

    Megadeth doesn't sound like Metallica

They're both good in their own Sound!.

So let it go. It's 2011. That crap happened in 1983. Stop living in the past and everyone Put some Metal up your ass!. \m/

  • @MeTaLiXe I already have. -_-

  • @MeTaLiXe Metal up your ass was in 1983 too. Are we being selective when it comes to "living in the past"? Fag.

  • @SitotiKurton

There are many skills harder than sweeping. Sweeping is fairly easy. Sweeping WELL isn't.

  • They'll take my cake away? I LOVE this song. Megadeth FTFW

  • will you guys just let it go? metallica is good, megadeth is good. so let it go!

  • @superbandace

and he saw that it was good*g*

  • mas this drums are awesome

  • 4:11 is that a synth or a guitar? haha

  • @heroofguitar322 Guitar with a really weird tone.

  • the guitar solos are better with marty in the leads

  • I think Dave's vocals sound better on this demo than on the "official" version

  • @ThyCrucifier The version you might think is the official version might actually not be. Megadeth re-released this album and Dave claimed he had lost all the vocal tracks and had to re-take the whole thing. Those original vocal tracks somehow showed up for RockBand though. Try to find the original unremastered version. It's leaps and bounds better.

  • @jian2069 The vocals for Holy Wars... The Punishment Due weren't lost... they mixed them another way so it sounds a little diffrent, but the last solo of the song has another sound to it, and I think that sucks to the original, I have all Originals and Remasters, and still the originals are the best!

  • @TwiGGSTicK during the 2004 remastering of Rust in Peace dave said he lost all the vocal tracks, they were all re-recorded for the 2004 remaster. All the rest of the tracks were re-used and mixed differently

  • @jian2069 No he said he lost the vocal tracks for Five Magics, Rust in Peace... Polaris, Take No Prisoners and Lucretia. I'm 100% sure about this and if you don't believe me go listen unremastered Holy wars and then the remaster with all those songs from rust, and you will hear where the vocal tracks are diffrent.

still don't believe me? go search for old interviews or go look on Megadethdotcom and see it for yourself.

is swear this is 100% truth.

  • @TwiGGSTicK Alright, I believe you. I thought the entire album was like that but actually I was just basing that on Five Magics alone . I have never actually read/watched the interviews where he said it. Thanks for the info :)

  • @jian2069 No Problem ;D

  • the solos here are by chris poland?

  • @Snake0682 Yes. He recorded the demos for RiP and Dave invited him to come back for real but Chris refused.

  • Piano man on lead guitar, lol.

  • Metallica is a bunch of bitches, they stole some of Dave's songs.

  • @paranoid1072 youre just one of those whiny ass bitch fanboys both bands are good, suck it up and on top of that they don't hate eachother anymore so you might as well be telling this to a lamp post hahahahahaha faggot

  • @paranoid1072 youre fucking rightt mann i love youre way of thinking

fucking bitchess what about mechanix phantom lord jump in the fire

and ride the lighting but like mustaine says if i want to sound like them i will do it

  • @duff123bass He doesn't sound like them dumbass

  • @paranoid1072 obiuously he doesnt idiot i never said that megadeth sounds like metallica i said that if mustaine want to sound like them he can do it piece of shit

carefull when you read other coments before post your stupid incorrect arguments fag

  • @paranoid1072 some? xD dave wrote the four horsemen, jump in the fire,... etc etc... kirk just add wah, and that mean: dave cowrote

enter sandman: stole from trust, and dave lyrics of: if i die before i wake.....

one of the one solo (the faster) is a faster copy of devils island intro solo...etc etc.... all metallica carrer is based on dave songs

  • @sonnic1995 enter sandman stole from trust? wtf

  • @Titiritero04 put some atencion at the riffs and you will see...

  • @sonnic1995 check the years when both songs were realized, the part before i wake is a very common pray.... man you should put some attention, o atencion si hablas español XD

  • @Titiritero04 la oracion del niño: if i die before i wake....

dave tubo esa idea, de echo la usa en Go To Hell, al inicio y al final solo que dave dice: if i die before i wake blablabla my soul to keep (asi con el blabla..)

  • @sonnic1995 a ver analizemos:

o si mustaine ubiera salido, no ay pedo

y si segun tu soy fanboy por k te conesto, pues tu tambien me contestas wey kon kosas ke no tienen tanto sentido

  • demo version,original version,remastered version....i don't mind

    they're all awesomazing

  • This album somehow proves to me that Dave is a bettter singer than James.

  • @gdsmzroll

Dave is a better singer than James? oh wait, you were joking right?

    You were joking, weren't you?

  • @BlessureK They're both shit so it doesn't matter

  • @gdsmzroll I know I'm gonna get a lot of hate for this. But Dave's singing sounds like shit live. James is a much better singer.

  • @J0hannski Actually I wont deny that to you, Daves singing has rapidly declined in this latest tour for some reason. This might be becuz of his struggle to reproduce his original RIP notes, his aging, or the damage caused by alcohol (Believe it or not alcohol can really damage vocal cords). I noticed however, that he mightve previously had vocal chord problems, as in the jagermeister tour i noticed his voice was more improved.

  • @J0hannski thats cuz this was how long ago and it is now 2011. I love both bands and singers, and theyre are both very talented

  • @gdsmzroll he's a better singer in studio, maybe, but not live ....

  • @bibendeum44 everyone sings better in studio

  • @gdsmzroll metallica is my favourite band, but i also like megadeth a lot... they are really different styles of metal, so don't try to compare them... you'll just end up looking like a fool ^^

  • @kavi089 well in my opinion who sounded like a foll was you

  • @gdsmzroll somehow you must be deaf.

  • @gdsmzroll nowadays that`s a whole different story bro, dunno if you`ve heard Dave live lately, and he`s voice is kinda out of it sadly :(

  • @RoyLikesKMFDM Saw him a couple weeks back and he sounded pretty great. Its true hes off in a lot of shows, but then again his vocals get tired plus he didnt really sing RIP how he shuldve.

  • sorprendente

  • Who played keyboards? Because they are great!!!

  • How old is this demo anyway? sounds weird to me that they would have chris poland on a rust in peace song when they kicked him out before the so far so good album that came before rust in peace.

  • kinda funny that this song is one of the best songs ever but this demo version sucks ass big times !

  • the thing that makes this version better than the studio, is you can actually hear the bass...

  • @PuPPeTlad lol true

  • haha MEGADEATH .. jaja .. good one xD. I LOVE MEGADETH nd FIVE MAGICS xD

  • Sweet song.

  • each holy wars demo is different in its own, eerie unique way

  • i love this song...probably my favorite megadeth song really if i had to choose just one of the many greats....and I like this version better...has a more raw edge to it....it's fuckin wicked....

  • Kudos to you.

  • I like this more cause its faster! More intense!

  • I love the bass sound!

  • damn megadeth is the shit..i cant belive ive wasted my whole live until now to listen to such gods

  • @ichigotsomeweed324

Yeah! Me too! I've only recently started getting into them before Christmas. I'm gutted how I missed a gig with them in my hometown now. But this gig was like 2 years ago. I wish i started getting into them earlier...

  • I got into Megadeth Christmas of 2008. A good friend of mine is into thrash. He played Peace Sells song for me. Every since then I have been tracking down original Megadeth CD's, vinly records and cassettes. I enjoy their early stuff, but recently started exploring their new albums.

  • @ichigotsomeweed324 Amen bro!

  • @ichigotsomeweed324 Damn right mate!!! Megadeth finally usurped Metallica's Master of Puppets with this album (Rust In Peace). My fave together with Countdown to Extinction. Rest in peace Cliff Burton who was the talented lyricist and musician in Metallica; everything after Justice For All has been commercial whoredom and creatively barren BIG MEH : (

  • i love the demo version more than i love the studio version, same goes for the five majiks

  • Poland rejoined the band briefly just to record these demos an was asked to rojoin permeanently but didnt

  • i perfer this demo over the studio version, i dunno why i just like the demo more

  • ypsilon666,,it is nick menza.

  • That's actually a pretty well produced demo. The quality doesn't sound that much different than the album version.

  • And damn just listen to Gar. I never really realized how great he was!

  • No Gar here, it was Nick Menza I think.

  • I love this demo. I just wish Chris's tone didn't make it sound like he was playing a keyboard haha

  • yeah i love this demo, but i really don't like polands tone here at all

  • Thats Marty Friedman dude...

  • No, It's not Marty Friedman. It's Chris Poland here because this Demo was recorded with him before he was kicked out. Just listen to the solo, It's ALL Poland.

  • Oh i didnt know this song was recorded before Poland leave. My bad...anyways exelent job no? :P

  • this is poland playing this one

    its in the album notes

  • very good... but the acoustic solo ? :(

  • Equal'd Win My Friend!

  • intro just sounds much better, because you hear the open E-string more clearly imo.

  • almost the same but thay both sound fucking awsome

  • mto bommm

  • I love the demo version better.

The guitars sound better in my opinion, and Dave's singing sounds awesome too!

  • You got to love the fact the bass isn't drowned out in any of the demos.

  • i wonder were would megadeth be with dime and vinnie!

  • Obviously Megadeth would have been tired with these 2 and would have eventually fired them. then Megadeth would have just recruited a better guitarist and drummer and those 2 would have fallen into obscurity. megadeth is thrash whereas pantera was more like glam

  • pantera WAS glam, until cowboys from hell. when that came out, they where thrash to the max, but yes, guitarclaydo has a very good point

  • @abhimuscat iim sick and tired of people calling pantera glam.. listen to pantera power metal the album and tell me how the fuck that shit is glam. ive never heard high gain palm mutting in glam. nor razor thin solos

  • @morbidsaint1

... Pantera was glam then turned Thrash.

But to further help you prove their transition, see: Suicide Note Part 2 and The Great Southern Trendkill.

    Cause that's SOOOO glam, right?

  • @jeleopard did you not read my comment? listen to power metal, listen to projects in the jungle. tell me how palm mutting at such high gain on marshalls and randalls is glam to you? the high pitch vocals? if you consider the whole band glam just cause of high pitch vocals then you sir are ignorant. also the double pedaling? how is that glam? the comment "from glam to thrash" is inorrect. no band has ever done that. its impossible. and also. pantera was never thrash either.

  • @morbidsaint1

KISS uses double bass. And Pantera's early days WERE glam. Like, pre-Phil. Then, they got Phil, and went to a heavier sound

  • @jeleopard just because kiss used double pedals doesnt make pantera a glam band lol... even if kiss drummer did it was nowhere near the abilites of vinnie.. ok pantera's earlier days were southern power metal,, influenced by british heavy metal and southern rock..damn no one knows shit on metal vids.. also pantera was way way heavy metal before they even had phil so that comment is incorrect.. phil was the icing on the cake,, dimebag was already shredding fast leads.. so fuck you all..

  • @morbidsaint1

I'm not saying KISS using double bass makes PanterA glam, I'm saying PanterA using double bass DOESN'T make them metal, as KISS did it too. Hell, double bass originated in Jazz drumming.

    Drumming history fail.

And, yea. Eric Carr did get great speed in his double bass.

  • Respond to this video... dude your fucking stupid dont even talk to me about pantera.. dont even challenge me because any real metal fan knows the diff between glam thrash and power metal.. suicide note and great southern trendkill have nothing to do with pantera already being fast and heavy .. glam bands were motley crue and cinderella shit.. know your shit..high pitch vocals doesnt mean glam... stop being ignorant

  • @morbidsaint1

If you consider Motley Crue glam (which they weren't. Hair and glam aren't the same thing), then use DIAMOND Darrel's (as he was known in their GLAM years) shredding to make them non-glam, then Motley Crue is non-glam as well. Mick Mars of the Crue is an amazing guitarist.

Seriously, look at Metal Magic. Kinda sounds like a heavier KISS.

  • @morbidsaint1 yeah stupid comment about the double bass making pantera glam...megadeth uses double bass and they definitley aren't glam but what makes pantera glam is the fact that they made several glam albums before cowboys from hell.

  • dave is a shredder and dime is a shredder, 2 shredders dont make the band unique, when marty came in, he made metal fuckin cool and exotic

  • I agree with guitarclaydo...Marty & Chris are both awesome guitar players...Except Marty made Megadeth a little more artistic...Chris Poland made Megadeth more brutal...They both kick ass though!!

  • dave's not a shredder mate.

but he can rip solos with the best of them.!

  • mmmmmmmmm still think its awsome

  • awsome song

  • love the originals and demos this is real thrash be ignorant be a thrasher!! \M/!!! thrash till deth!!

  • Chuck Behler was the drummer from 1986-1989...

  • Poland got fired but after mustein fired Jeff Young he took Poland back for a while.

  • chuck behler was the drummer ya narna,It was jeff young, lol.

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP CHUCK BEHLER OMFG!!

  • hahaha Someone got this shit mixed up indeed
