Wait for it... you know it's coming.... the classic Barry Manilow 1/2 step key-change 2/3rds of the way through. I *KNOW* it's coming every time and I love it when it happens. Every single time. That's why Manilow is a musical genius - his music is truly uplifting - both tangibly and emotionally! Loved it - what a GREAT duet!
Yes, this was from the 15th Anniversary, which was fully dedicated to those that were, and had not survived, the HIV epidemic. Each artist spoke to who they had lost or what it meant to them. Clive himself engineered this event and the theme. It was a wonderful celebration and memorial.
That was Arista's 15th Anniversary at the Radio City Music Hall. Considering that this record label was founded in 1975 (it was originally, BELL records) I supposed the event was in 1990
WOW!!! That harmony part that Barry sang was very exciting! And you can be assured he wrote it all out note-for-note (with the key change) and rehearsed it for hours! His last note scared me, but the orchestra came through as planned. Great job Barry!!! Of course Dion -- was in a league by herself . . .
impresionante!!!
