Skyrim is certainly a step ahead of the deplorable Oblivion, I still lament the consolinization and simplification of TES games. Money talks to the dumb masses, I suppose.
After Morrowind, they really dumbed down the elder scrolls series,because now,gamers are too stupid to play anything apart from call of duty,and lack patience for other games.. I miss this age of gaming, it was absolutely f*cking awesome. Bright colourful, varied,original.and i always looked forwards to up and coming releases. To be fair, TES has been dumbed down since Arena. Daggerfall had less skills than Arena (but was a better game overall). Morrowind had less skills than Daggerfall too, but Morrowind's my favourite overall because they more than made up for it.

It is easy to dislike Morrowind, though, as it focuses too much on less interactive aspects to make the exploration. Whereas Morrowind is full of memorable NPCs, Skyrim is full of the cookie cutter variety. The horribly dumbed down user interface doesn't help any.
@Elena10110 I played Morrowind all the way through. The NPCs are cookie cutter. Almost every person I interact with has the same "little secret" and "advice" ..etc. Skyrim and Oblivion for the win!
Morrowind dialog is fine. The only real problem with it, and the only real reason why something like LGNPC was written, is because so many NPCs have the same responses to identical topics. Until you find one with a specific dialog trigger, at which point you get a bit of fresh text.
As if Skyrim's NPCs didn't hesitate to offer up the generic dialogue that NPCs in other cities had used. Hell, the innkeeper even complained about all the Dark Elves and Argonians right in front of an Argonian.
The choices of classes, the much larger selection of skills, weapons, armors, spells, the ability to create any spell you choose, the ability to craft any weapon you could imagine -- that is what freedom in an RPG is all about and that is what originally made TES great.
@MrSuspiciousPerson What if some actually likes an older game lets say morrowind over skyrim, i know people who do, so that makes you comment invalid in a way, everyone has their own personal choice you can't just go and oh this is better everyone will have a variety of likes and dislikes.

The music sounds just like it should for an RPG of that time. Kinda reminds me of Shining Force on the Sega Genesis, but I could be wrong as I haven't played it in a while. Also, since this game is free I'll have to try it sometime after I beat Morrowind.
For 16 years on this game. It looks incredible. I even heard a tiny bit of the Elder scrolls music in at around the 2:00 mark. I just think it's great that Elder scrolls can really Make a game look amazing for it;s time.

Daggerfall, bitches. Game is epic huge and you can spend two days in a dungeon and not finish it (granted, this wasn't always a plus). It's probably nostalgia talking but I spent so much time on that game when it came out. Lot's of nice little touches too, didn't gold even have weight and you could trade it in for bank notes?
I haven't played the game, but it has some ideas there that I wish they kept on. Like climb mode. Imagine if between training with the thieves guild and the dark brotherhood you could basically become ezio! So your sneak and agility skills actually had a visible affect (I know agility is gone). Yeah, I get annoyed at overly short and unfeasible guild questioned that all end the same way. And I hate how the criminal guilds lost all their enigma in skyrim.

The music sounds just like it should for an RPG of that time. Kinda reminds me of Shining Force on the Sega Genesis, but I could be wrong as I haven't played it in a while. Also, since this game is free I'll have to try it sometime after I beat Morrowind.

For 16 years on this game. It looks incredible. I even heard a tiny bit of the Elder scrolls music in at around the 2:00 mark. I just think it's great that Elder scrolls can really Make a game look amazing for it;s time.

@reizan6 that would be cool, but think of this. all the people that have played the whole series wouldnt really like to do it all over but just with better graphics, sound effects, etc. sometimes it is better to leave that classics as classics. but what would be nice is to make a tes that you acn go all over tamriel and all sorts of quests and all that. but i know it would be insane cause it would take a long, long time to make it. (my longest comment ever!):D

I played this game. But it was so huge! Too sad you cant get these old games work on new computers. Not without tremendous amount of work and investigation of settings etc :(
And you dont want to buy an old computer (if you can get your hands on one) and start to get enough of that 640kb memor what it now was called to get the games work.

Daggerfall, bitches. Game is epic huge and you can spend two days in a dungeon and not finish it (granted, this wasn't always a plus). It's probably nostalgia talking but I spent so much time on that game when it came out. Lot's of nice little touches too, didn't gold even have weight and you could trade it in for bank notes?

I haven't played the game, but it has some ideas there that I wish they kept on. Like climb mode. Imagine if between training with the thieves guild and the dark brotherhood you could basically become ezio! So your sneak and agility skills actually had a visible affect (I know agility is gone). Yeah, I get annoyed at overly short and unfeasible guild questioned that all end the same way. And I hate how the criminal guilds lost all their enigma in skyrim.

@ndgh209 i was born in 92 and i still got to play the game :D (my older brothers LOVED this game and i watched em play from my earliest memories and they let me play even if i was technically too young to legally play it). and since it was ages till morrowind came out we kept playing this long after it came out.

I hate people that axe the elder scroll games for their graphics >.< it's an RPG the maps are massive!!!!!!! It take about 20 seconds to get from one corner of a map to another on fps' it would take about 10 mins to get from corner to corner on oblivion, or skyrim!!! FUCK OFF WANKERS!!!!!!
