  • So many fights about a helicopter and what it is called? I think we should all come together and just call it the Pretty Glittery Pink Horsey Queen of the Sea Horses!

  • Will you tards stop arguing over Dauphin and Dolphin!?!? in French Dauphin == Dolphin! And Yes the Coast Guard calls it Dolphin and yes it's original name is Dauphin! That's like you guys arguing over Blackhawk vs. Seahawk vs. Jayhawk. Jesus Christ!

  • Jesus Christ.. It's ridiculous you guys are whining why the OP was calling it a "Dolphin" and not "Dauphin", Grow a pair and just enjoy the clip like I did!

    As usual, Nice video, Drak!

  • LOL 1:09 i thought he was hovering with the gear up with amazing precision as to not move at all...then i realized...long grass :P

PS TO ALL YOU IDIOTS, ITS DAUPHIN, NOT DOLPHIN. its a french Heli, and eurocopter calls it the dauphin. they made it, they name it, not the USCG.

  • "Dolphin" and "Dauphin" are very nearly the same thing; they are different variants of the same craft. technically, the platform that the Coast Guard uses is called the Dolphin, after they adopted it into service from Aerospatiale/Eurocopter. before the Coast Guard got ahold of it, it was originally named the Dauphin.

  • hey im going to subscribe to you have a nice day

  • nice quality

  • Called Dolphin.

  • @Draklor it's Dauphin

  • @Forgechannel1 As i already said the USCG website calls it "Dolphin" and not Dauphin.

Dauphin is the original french name but in USCG service is called Dolphin(as confirmed by many USCG pilots that i know,my own on-wing at HT-8 at NAS Whiting Field was a former HH-65 pilot).

  • @Draklor oh sorry didnt see that

  • @Draklor who cares what americans call it... dauphin is the name the designer designated and is the name in the flight manual... it may be french for dolphin but no reason to bring in specifics is there?

  • @Draklor no, I spoke with several USCG pilots and they ALL told me the name "Dolphin" is incorrect, the helicopter manufacturer, Aerospatiale, merged with some others to form Eurocopter, which now markets this aircraft, and it is called the Dauphin, nothing else

  • Just check the US Coast Guard official website and you'll see that it's officially calle

  • No you're wrong. That's the Coast Guard version of the Dauphin(as you said) but the USCG call it Dolphin. Beside the fact that i flew on that helicopter and that i had tons of instructors that were former Dolphin pilots, just check the Coas

  • that is not a Dolphin, that is a Dauphin (promounced Daw-feen) many people think the US Coast Guard calls it that, but they don't, I asked many USCG Pilots about this, it is a Dauphin, NOT a Dolphin

  • @Dauphinpilot

yes "Dauphin" is the French original name for the civilian model, but the military Navy version's name is Panther.

  • lol , the helicopter has its landing gear in,

  • I dislike the fact that they took out 3 of the blades on the tail rotor, so it doesn't make that distinct Dolphin HH-65 noise anymore :(

  • @deesnutsification11 They only took 1 blade out of the tail hub, now it sounds like a leaf blower.

  • @clearchrome1 That's no fake at all.

The landing gear appears "magically" just because is hidden in high grass...

  • @clearchrome1 Not the sharpest tool in the box now are we, you can even see the strut sticking down.

  • @clearchrome1 Is this what you do for a living? Going from video to video screaming "FAKE" ?

  • @clearchrome1 how on earth this can be fake? "magicly' people are finding ur comment funny pal! delete it man =p

  • @clearchrome1 Your mother wasn't faking.

  • there engines sound is so unique and nice

  • @105Raptor not anymore. they are 'upgrading' the fleet of these. what you are hearing is the fenestron tail rotor and as noted above...they are 'fixing' that for a lower noise signature. it's a bummer cuz these sound so cool.

  • The HH-65A was underpowerd,so the upgraded them at the C standard, with new avionics and different and more powerful engines.

  • @Draklor

The first French standart Dolphin was not underpowered with they Aerospatiale Ariel1 630HP engines...

Only the US coast gard Dolphin use the 675HP Lycoming LTS101 US engines ...but they reveal it as very unreliable...and the US Dolphin was frequently overloaded...

The new version engines "special hot and hight climate" use now French Turbomeca Ariel 2C2-CG (934hp each) engines and a hight efficiency fenestron prop =higher cross wind and less noise .

  • @oiseautempete So when did the upgrade to the Turbomeca Ariel2C2-CG take place? I was in the CG when the Dolphin's were first used.

  • i haerd they were going to cut the hh-65 because it was underpowered

  • What were these guys doing at Santa Rosa? A fleet fly-in?

  • Man those Dolphins are sleek and fast.... Impressive equipment. Hopefully I'll get to fly one!

  • freakin love the dolphins!

  • This is my paradise! :D

    NICEEEEEE!!!
