  • But french can say what they are: "LOOSER"

  • @75TheFabriz They are looser than what?

  • I'm an anglophone and I once got laughed at because of my accent when I speak French.

  • I'm french and I can

  • @Xiricon ne plaisante im, je ne trouve cela offensant a tous, en fair mon great grandmother a un accent francais

  • Im french & i find this offensive

  • @Krisssyification Est-ce que c'est très offensive, ou juste un petit peu offensive? :)

  • it seems like he was saying HE IS A WIENER>.

  • @MsYanana lol he likes wiener so...

  • So obviously, she's a winner. And he's a weiner.

  • What's wrong?? I say that myself, too.

  • Thats cute. At least he tries & isnt ashamed of it. He obviously knows he says it funny, seeming the person recorded it & he had to repeat it like 4 times.

    Poor kid.

  • ok where's the difference between what he said and "winner"???

  • @BangBangLadeche I think ihe said whiner, not sure i'm french too ;D

  • @BangBangLadeche The way he was pronouncing winner sounded like the word wiener (a certain male body part ;) The i was being pronounced wrong. Personally I thought it was cute :)I love French accents.

  • im a weiner ^^

  • Oh shut up stop saying stupid things about Americans now like lacking history it hasnt been as long as most others. Or like European language is better alot of european countries speak english! You know you would laugh if an American said Poison instead of Poisson

  • Why he don't say "winner" ? You don't understand when frech say "winner" ?? (I'm french and that fascinate me ^^)

  • I don't get it, he said winner.

  • @imgonnakillyoo The i was being mispronounced so instead of winner it sounded like he was saying weiner (a male body part) ;)

  • She is a winner, I am a winner, your a winner, WE ARE ALL WINNERS!

  • @lindsayenrique A WINNER IS YOU.

  • The people on this video are a joke. Of course Europe is relevant to the world, as they contribute leading advancements in science and provide us with a beautiful culture and language which a majority of America lacks. But then again, my exhibition of francophile opinions are completely biased, as is any other opinion. I see Americans bashing on the French but if you don't have anything nice to say, why degrade others' ideas? Isn't America about freedom of belief? Freedom of expression?

  • I find that he says it good, without accent ;) (I'm french)

  • The funniest ever mispronunciation I witnessed was when an American gentleman tried to pronounce a Tarascan word (Tarascos are one of the indian tribes of Mexico). The word was: "Parangaracutirímicuarocaripocapote". We mexicans are used to the word, because is the name of a Volcano that was born and erupted from plane terrain in 1947. The American geologist decided that the Volcano would be called "Paricutín", it was beyond their tongue limits to pronounce the real name.

  • american CAN say PERDANT

    lol I joke

  • "I'm a weiner" A weiner....rofl...

  • I speak English much better than I understand, because when I speak, it is me choosing the words.

  • @daminou2003

theres nothing "wrong" with the pronunciation... just sounds like he is saying WEINER. "She's a weiner... I'm a weiner".

  • Thank goodness I speak both, germanic and romance languages....I am Mexican-American and able to speak English and Spanish fluently. I can speak intermediate french too...Don't believe me...Go to:

    w w w . livemocha . com /french/speak/exercises/21961960?source=profile

    BEAT THAT SHIT!!

  • @him3zz

Way to make Me jealous. i speak only 2 laungages.

  • Lmfao! You have to love the French.

  • ask an average American to say something really basic in Russian like "здравствуйте, меня зовут..." (hello, my name is...) and almost noone will be able to say even the first word right, not to mention the horrible accent. so what are you so proud of? btw I'm writing to you in English, and can you speak to me in Russian? No - then I'm a ['wɪnə]!

  • what's the matter with his pronunciation?

  • lol It's not that bad. When Cho Kyuhyun said "Winner" on Bonamana, it sounded like he said "Weiner"! XD I still love you Cho Kyuhyun!!! :)

  • I thought Americans were lovely, but when I'm reading all your comments, I'm really dissapointed. In Belgium we need to know 3 languages, Dutch, French and English, mostly of the time we need to learn German or Spanish above these 3 languages. Off course we don't speak all of these as a native speaker, but we know how to express ourselves. When we are abroad, we know how to communicate. I think nobody would laught with me because I speak with an accent. An american who speaks dutch is terrible!

  • @MrBelgiumlover

I will beg you please to not judge us by youtube commenters. The average youtuber inteligence seems lower than I would have thought humanly possible. I can't explain the phenomenon, but no one I know in real life is so stupid.

  • stop making fun of us (the french) cos you guys cant speak another language but english, whereas we learn german, english, spanish, and some of learn chinese. so maybe the guy didn't pronounce it correctly but at least he knows a foreign language. thank you

  • @celineisonline

It is funny that he pronounces it that way. It does not mean that the filmer thinks any less of the man.

  • @celineisonline Not every American can't speak another language this was a joke and the man probably knew and they probably just joked around.

  • weiner, lol

  • I was in France and accidently spilled a little milk. I used a napkin to clean it up. When I asked them for another napkin they refused saying they already gave me one. Even after a French-Canadian spoke to them in French, they refused. Whatever the British, Germans, and Spanish and other nations have to say about them is true. I will always remember them for being so cheap and rude. I always tell people in the USA about this.

  • @PIANOPHUNGUY Ok then. Take a look at my channel, if i had to think like you, all "americans" and english are motherfucking piece of shit who deserve to die?

There are more than 60M people in France, how can you compare them all to a few insignificant arseholes?

  • @PIANOPHUNGUY LOL Maybe they're just trying to save the trees!!! Our trees are almost gone... :)

  • @PIANOPHUNGUY You don't know anything about France. Only Parisians are cheap and rude, ...

  • @PIANOPHUNGUY That is pretty rude, but maybe it was only a coincidence. There are classless people all over the world.

  • Yeah, you are a weiner all right.

  • im american and i think this vid afensive to french

  • @Hijodelatomato The I in English isn't pronounced as the I in French. It's pronounced quickly and a bit like "wenner" instead of "wiiiinner". The main reason his pronunciation is supposed to be funny is because it sounds like "Wiener" which is basically a hotdog or a slang for a penis.

  • @dreamer4032

Don't worry, I didn't take it bad : my reply was supposed to be a joke (A failed one, it seems, now).

  • Well...

French say "Gagnant". Can you say it correctly ...? ;-))

  • @MrKra7as French is the most beautiful language so shut up

  • @yanndick i can

  • @yanndick They should try saying squirrel in French, hardest word ever.

  • @AmokBR

You're right ! I never realized how complicated a word like "écureuil" can be for someone who doesn't know the language. I can see why now though. Same issue as for "ratatouille" they don't even pronounce correctly one time in the movie (In the original english version of course).

All languages have tough issues for foreigners.

  • language mistakes are funny.

my korean friend told me this. "you" in korea is pronounced like "nigga". a korean was on a metro talking to another korean, both were sitting near a black guy and were saying "niggah" a lot as they spoke korean to each other. the black guy started getting bothered and asked them why they were saying "nigga" so much. one korean guy tells him "a nigga means you". he was shocked LOL

  • You guys are dumb. my mom speaks with a really bad spanish accent and she can't pronounce her "v's" right. i make fun of her all the time for it. are you saying that i am being rude about it? Fuck no, we both laugh. so if you guys think this is "offensive" then sorry, what is complaining going to do about it? Fuck you guys, and seriously, get a freaking sense of humor. I think this is funny and cute!

  • i'm french and i pronounce it the same way :(

  • what happen if an american speak french ? it's the same about french

  • lol you people have HUGE sticks up your ass. Get over it its funny.

  • id like to see u try to pronounce FRENCH correctly!

  • Sounds fine to me.....

  • Not very funny.

  • Tehehe made my day:]

  • That's pretty rude laughing at his face like that. Especially coming from a person who most likely only speaks one language...

  • Okay, make fun of the french accent.. Then I'd like every american person to pronounce the words "bonsoir" ou "incroyable" for example.. Just to make me laugh for few seconds. I don't get the interest to make fun of people who speak forein languages, of course the accen is not perfect, but this is normal.. In the american language, there are sounds ( like "th" for instance) french people are not used to pronouncing..

  • @xtib666 Ooooh come on... it's just funny?! I'm french and find it funny when english native speaks french too! Don't you?

  • @xtib666 the worst is "grenouille" :)

  • @xtib666 Bowne-swaa, en-cwa-yabl :)

  • @BruckMahl cuiller has an 'r' at the end and couilleu has an 'u' sound at the end...I don't see how they would mix it up...I understand mixing up femme and faim but not those two...

  • i should make a video of the average joe ordering "penne" at the restaurant and actually saying "pene" which is italian for penis.

in all of my time in the US, i heard NO ONE say it right.

  • This upsets me. Americans already have a reputation of being rude and ignorant, and I don't even want to know what the French think of us when we speak their language, so why would you make fun of them if you aren't fluent in their language either? I've been studying French for years now, and if someone made a video of a word I had trouble pronouncing, I think I'd be more than a little hurt. I do my best and I'm sure they do theirs. Isn't that enough?

  • @zwolfpower712 Dude, this is only one word and it's funny. Americans are rude and ignorant ? This is exactly what ignorant people say ! So don't pay attention to those people ;)

  • I just want to clarify that it's not just the French that struggle with that simple word. You can easily just ask a Mexican to say that same word and he'd pronounce it the same way.

  • @irvinc101 let me clairify use the word HISPANIC/loino because theres spanish. mexican. guatemalan, honduran, ecuadorian, colombian, argentine, chilean, uruguayan. etc... NOT just mexican.

  • @xxmetioqurexx

What's a loino? I think you mean Latino. I'm well aware of those words and I chose to use Mexican because every Spanish speaking country has a different accent. Just an FYI.

  • @irvinc101 misspelled it sorry. i dont need a FYI i already know that each has its accent same goes with the US and the UK etc. i just find it dumb that people ALWAYS choose to say mexico -.-

  • LOL HE SAID WEINER

  • Im a kiwi and all i hear is "im a winner" dont get it?

  • Wiener is a dog. He's calling her a bitch

  • I don't understand why everyone is so upset about us having a laugh at one word. It's funny when someone says "wiener" instead of "winner". It was just as funny when I kept saying "blow job" instead of "mine" in Russian. Also, we do speak other languages, and we get shit for it all of the time when we say it wrong. My siblings and I took french classes; and every time they tried to order in french or speak in french while visiting France they were ridiculed. Get over yourselves and laugh.

  • Really, I don't hear "wiener" at all. It sounds closer to "winner".

  • I don't see what is funny about this. It sounds fine enough and it's understandable. There are probably a lot of Americans in the South of the United States who have worse accents.

  • It's not to be offensive, come on, French people must laugh at American accents too

  • Why does everyone try to make a political statement out of every single video that contains an American?

The world pays huge attention to Americans, criticizing every move and every action and then they wonder why Americans think they have all eyes on them.

  • everyone @ some point of another has thought someones accent or the way someone said something was funny, don't be so sensitive.

  • I feel so immature for laughing at this...but I cant help it.

  • I understand this is in good humour but I find it very obnoxious. You do realise that if you are classifying this man's pronunciation as incorrect then the pronunciation of all Americans is incorrect. There are countless and countless words that Americans do not pronounce correctly. 'Water', for example. Americans do not say 'water', instead you say 'warder'.

  • @PreppyEnglishman That is only certain regions/states in America. I say water, "wah-ter". Granted I live in Texas (no I don't have a big Texas accent) so it may not match the "majority" pronunciation, but I have honestly only heard a few people say "warder" and I've been all over the country... Just like with England or any other country there are TONS of accents here so it's nearly impossible to lump the pronunciation of all words.

  • lmfao now he's just insulting her and himself. neither of u are penises, actually maybe you...

  • it's only funny when it actually sounds like another word next time ask him if he's hungry or angry

  • I'm French and I speak English and I'm really not offended by this video.

That's just "humour" guys let's calm dow it's ok..

It's also pretty funny when an english try to say "enrevoir" or "arraigné". In this case we also laugh about as they laugh about our accent for some of words that we try to pronounce. But it's not bad.. This video didn't mean to be offended for french or to badly laugh about his accent..

  • @Maevafromfrance tout à fait d'accord avec toi mais "enrevoir" n'existe pas... "au revoir" par contre...;)

  • @murmure69 Lol oui c'est vrai c'est parce quand on parle on dit plus enrevoir qu'aurevoir, mais oui le mot enrevoir n'existe pas en effet lol

  • he did say it very well in fairness! i think its just difficult, any words with W and R in them, a french person i know had the same problem with "worry". But hey, im irish and i cannot say "froid"! or any french word with an R actually haha

  • I'm so sorry and maybe some of you will hate me, but i think (sometimes, and not everybody), american or english people don't make a lot of efforts to understand when we try to speack english !! ^^"

  • @miouth150

Owh, dude, I hope it was ironical ;)

  • weiner

  • Didn't he say "winner"? lol

  • she is a penis. i am a penis. penis.....

  • And? ..

  • BTW, it's "beaucoup" not "beau cul" ;)

  • HEY MAYBE HE MEANT IT HE IS A WEINER!

  • Comment removed

  • sounded like winner to me - change your title

  • I liked the part when he said "winner."

  • shes a weiner. and you? imma wiener

  • I LOVE ACCENTS IN EVERY LANGUAGE!

  • lol...Americans and their....wiener humor...

    "and ze wiener iiis ?..."

  • C'est comme il-est dittant 'Wiener'.. un penise. :P

  • I'm a winner, you're a winn"o"r

  • That's so adorable x]

  • the french cant pronounce 'Himalaya' properly :)

  • @korsager Probably, most people can't speak sanskrit probably... I'm pretty sure you get it wrong too ;)

  • @korsager can you... Lol... I mean can you say it right in Sanskrit (the original language) ? हिमालय is the original word, I'd like to know if anyone but native Sanskrit speakers can say it...

(I don't think I can either, I'm French, I just looked up online because that word Himalaya was FOR SURE not an American or European word :) )

  • kinda sounded like weener xDD

  • yes he is able to say winner... only he said it so slow

  • wiener würstchen lollllllll cute frenchie DX

  • i'm confused, what's wrong with his pronunciation?

  • @thequeenofuniverse Il dit qu'il est une "bite"

  • @thequeenofuniverse he's like saying i'm a wiener lol

  • @thequeenofuniverse winner=gagnant weinner=une saucisse

  • I'm a weiner, too.

  • lol sounds like wienner

  • pfff quand on voit la simplicité de langlais , voir des gars se la ramener en comparant "ca" avec le francais.... Pathetique.

  • @harbinger9111 This might be true indeed. Maybe scots sound quite tough though.

  • WIENER... lol

  • @harbinger9111 Well in British English, some Rs are indeed not pronounced, which doesn't mean that British people "remove" them, but only that it's considered the proper way to pronounce (or not pronounce) them. And other Rs are pronounced, they're just not as strong as in American English. Typically, Rs in the middle or at the beginning of a word will be pronounced (proud, reason) and Rs at the end won't be (proper, better). Rs that follow a vowel will simply make it longer (word, heart).

  • @harbinger9111 But I am pompous and self-righteous, I admit it freely!

Can you admit your faults as readily? I doubt it lol

    I am NOT, however, English!

I agree, the English do drop their R's and I find that annoying too, but to say that your history of dumbing down your language comes as a result of it's latin origins is laughable, and if I may say so, typical! lol

Yes it's petty, no it doesn't matter in the greater scheme of things but hey, this is Youtube... not the court of human rights!

  • @RocksterOO1 Hi. Since you were talking about it, do you really think that English comes from Latin? Because it has SOME latin roots, but it's not what we usually call a latin language (like Italian, Spanish, or even French). And even typically latin words like liberty, decapitation... often have their anglo saxon counterparts, in that case: freedom, beheading. English really has two scales, and in familiar all day English, not as many words as in Spanish or French have a latin root.

  • The American filming this and laughing, is amused because the French guy sounds like he's saying "Wiener" (a type of german sausage) which should technically be pronounced "Viener".

Ironically, Americans routinely mispronounce this word and many others because they prefer their words to be easy to spell and pronounce phonetically, even to the point of altering (dumbing down) their own language (what we laughingly still refer to as English)!

Ironically too, yanks just don't get irony!

  • He's amused because it sounds like he's saying wiener, which is slang for a dick...

  • @IPlayInBeastMode I know, that's why he finds the word Weiner so funny.

Perhaps I should have mentioned that in my post.

He's laughing 'cos it sounds like he's saying Weiner, and "Weiner" is funny to him 'cos it's slang for penis!

I thought it was too obvious to mention, sorry!

  • @RocksterOO1 lol, it's Youtube giving me more culture! I'd never know that slang.

  • Aahahahahahhaahaha!!! I may have just peed...

  • n'a pas de problème avec son accent. es verdad que los estadounidenses necesitan aprender otra lengua aparte de inglés. ma io credo che invece di essere troppo orgoglioso, si dovrebbe tendere la mano

  • The French can't speak this one word, but Americans can't speak other languages. Which is worse?

  • @SchwarzerMannn lol some americans cant even speak english.. they speak spanish..french and all of the other languages :) since they originate diff places sooo they can speak other languages :P

  • @SchwarzerMannn Except it isn't just "this one word". It's any word with the vowel sound in the first syllable of "winner" ("bitch", "kit", "slit", etc.). Also it isn't just the French. It's Hispanics, Russians, etc. Many foreigners have trouble with this sound. BTW, I'm American and I speak 4 languages total (including my mother tongue), so shut the fuck up.

  • @yurismir1 in this video it actually is the word "winner" it is sad that people make fun of french people or other people who have an accent when..so many americans dont speak anything but english..so you should calm down..by the way..congratulations for speaking four languages..you are an exception..you are also kind of a douchebag..and your attitude is offensive enough to me to say something about it..you might know four languages but you are still cocky like many americans..so great job there

  • @Teufell22 So we think it's funny that when he says "winner" it sounds like "weener." Does that mean we are terrible people? No. I'm sure many other nationalities make fun of english speakers for the way we say things in foreign languages. It's all in good humor. Also, could you stop saying "americans" as if we are all the same people? We don't ALL make fun of accents, we aren't ALL arrogant. I'm sure we are way more diverse than wherever the hell you live.

  • @fabulapowers thank you! haha. and i think you put it way more nicely than i did :) haha x)

  • @Xxrockerchic229xX No problem. I think this America hate is going way too far. More American adults than British adults are proficient enough to hold a conversation in a foreign language. And this doesn't have to do with number of languages one can speak. I "make fun" (keyword here being "fun") of the way the British or Canadians say English words. I don't intend to be mean: I find they way anyone speaks to be cute and endearing. :]

  • @Teufell22 I love when people say how cocky americans are when in fact we are one of the largest "melting pots" for many different cultures. So essentially, your saying, everyone, including french people who now live here (citizens), is cocky...

  • @teecerhompson americans are cocky, being a melting pot has NOTHING to do with personality. we're not talking about diversity we're talking about personality. see america from a different countried point of view, & then make a comment on youtube. tu comprends?

  • @HelloCincinnati WRONG! you honestly think a melting pot only effects a civilization in terms of diversity and has no effect on persons? I'm sorry but different cultures coming together has a huge impact on personality. Example: A child hears a french guy swear.. the child swears, swearing can lead to disrespect to others, disrespect is an attribute of personality. Yes he could be an Americans also but i think you get the point. Don't be so narrow minded in your way of thinking.

  • @HelloCincinnati Also i went to Germany for a month when i was 16 and it was amazing. Everyone there was nice and friendly and they all were fine with me not being able to speak German (I was with a friend that could). We decided to go across the border to France to grab a bite to eat. When we were there the waitress refused to serve me after hearing me speak, and our car got broken into. I did nothing to the waitress and she refused to wait on me... and your trying to make out the US are asses?

  • @teecerhompson because it would be so odd to see an american to do the same thing to a minority or to a gay person.

  • @Teufell22 I agree. This video is pathetic. Also I wish I could live in France and speak French fluently :)

  • @SchwarzerMannn Americans can speak other languages. Most choose not to because they simply have no reason to. Unlike France, America does not have many countries that borders it. This and the fact that America is extremely young results in there simply being no need to learn another language.

Is it advised? Yes. Many educational systems in America enforce foreign language classes but it is not mandatory though suggested.

  • @JRV95 American people don't need to learn any other languages because English is spoken around the world, period.

  • @Skyline4993

You´d be surprised, but it is just not true that English is spoken everywhere in the World. You can get lost in middle China and you won´t find a single person around 1000 kmts being able to speak English. Only 5% of People who are non native English speakers can communicate in some English. It is true that that 5 % is more or less distributed around the world, but travelling, you just have to get a few blocks from you hotel for you become speechless.

  • @powerdriller10 Well to tell the truth I'm not even American I'm not trying to defend them or whatever, but speaking of China, I lived there for 8 years and my level of Chinese is really poor. During this time period I traveled around Asia in pretty much every country, never had any trouble for speaking English there. I can speak 3 different languages (and of course my 'basic' Chinese), but I really could manage with English only, which is not even my mother tongue.

  • @SchwarzerMannn Yes, and english is a very hard lauguge, so stop making fun.

  • @happygamestvfun1 I'm not making fun, I'm saying that ENGLISH speakers shouldnt make fun of someone trying to speak English....I know how hard english is and im actually going to be an english teacher in south korea in 4 months because i like helping people so much, and i dont make fun of people but embrace their culture and are thankful that they try to speak english. thanks for your concern though.

  • @SchwarzerMannn I'm American, and unless you have cool friends like I do ;) they don't seem to take the time to really understand another language. I'm sorry if you are offended by this...I think his accent is soo adarable and sexy!

  • @SchwarzerMannn I'm American, and unless you have cool friends like I do ;) they don't seem to take the time to really understand another language. I'm sorry if you are offended by this...I think his accent is soo adarable and sexy!

  • @rockmyraccoon I'm French and I'm not offended by this. Actually, it is fun :D So, don't be sorry ;) French people do the same ! And I can't say I don't like, because I don't know you !
