What's with this version? The original song is over 6 minutes because that's the length of time it takes to convey the intention of the song. This video sounds like some overly condensed, easily accessible version solely created to win airplay.
If this is how the song is supposed to get recognized, then don't make it 6 minutes. There's a reason tracks like Freebird and Bohemian Rapsody get their entirety played.
The buildup and tension of the original creates a much more powerful experience.
I first heard liquid sugar played in the indie room at oceana in kingston...that was more than enough to make me get this album, 2nd favourite album of all time
I've been loving this album for a little while now, but am just now commenting on its greatness. I just happened to stumble upon this gem of an artist one day, can't even remember how, but what luck that was. Every song on this album is fantastic. When I first listened to this song, I truly was taken aback by how mesmerizing it is. And that goes for every song on there. I love Maps so much.
According to windows media player i have listened to this song 218 times!! am i obbsessed, humbled, off my nut, suffering from sum kinda OCD or just vry vry happy?!
id say i first heard about them 2 weeks ago too, "you don't know her name" has been playing on our work c.d for about the last 2 weeks and its only just now that i found out who actually sings it........ but definately a fantastic band you have a new fan :-)
I was just out all weekend in Toronto. When returning home 20 minutes ago, the first thing I did, before I took my shoes off, was walk to my laptop and throw my headphones on to get a hit of this song like a junkie getting a fix.
So, please, go fuck yourself for getting me hooked on some good synth work that gives me MDMA-like rushes.
And go fuck yourself harder if you don't follow up in '08.
maps (james chapman) is a fucking great composer !!! one of the best i've heard in years, "we can create" is not only the best album of 2007 but one of the best albums in years !!! . i love not only this song but evry single song of the album... you rock james !!! bravo !!!!
I really like this, but I do have one problem with it.
At the beginning the man singing, when he takes breaths between each line it sounds a little rough and would of sounded better if it was edited out. ;)
Otherwise it's pretty good. If not a little repetative. ;)
