Some guy imported the midis from Ultima Underworld into Reason and exported them back out with full, modern orchestral sound instead of bleeps and bloops. It sounded AMAZING. Someone should do that with the early TES soundtracks as well.

I still hope to see the day when it is possible and feasible for Bethesda to redo the entire Iliac Bay from Daggerfall with modern gameplay & graphics. If they just could find the formula for logically random generated cities, dungeons, graveyars, wichtcoves, some AI that can make it look like human designed. TT

It's similar to the modern Doom and Quake engines like FItzquake and so on.

Am I the only one who finds the graphics from a game like Daggerfall to be way more immersive than that of games like Morrowind or Oblivion ?

I agree, for some reason i find games that are 2d much more immersive then the now 3d games. Call me crazy, but i never played this until it was free, and i still like it better than morrowind or oblivion.

The graphics remind me of hexen or heretic somewhat.

The sky graphics in Daggerfall also look better to me. Look way more immersive.

I feel the same way about it, hell, not just this, but in hexen i looked up at the drab sky with the clouds moving and the thunder, looked very similar to daggerfall, and is so much cooler than todays skies. Daggerfall had some very good skies too, i look at them and think even though the view distance wasn't too far these really give you the illusion of cool mountains being obstructed by a sort of haze. Also i just watched the sun rise over a city wall yesterday, strangely beautiful.

I love how the music sounds in game, those MIDI tones, combined with the images on the horizon create an atmosphere that I've yet to experience in most high tech directX powered, pixel shaded, paralex mapped games.

I remember being locked outside of a castle at night when the tough monsters came out. They played this music at sunrise. I was never so happy to see the sun come up!
