I don't want a world in which autism is read about on history books. It would mean that we could have taken a step forward on science, but 2 steps back on humanity. I want a world in which autism is accepted among people, and that autistics are respected as people, and as persons who are valuable and worthy of being with others without being pointed at nor bullied. A world in which autism and other individuals are treated as part of humanity, and not as something to be ashamed of.
Thank you for this touching tribute to your daughter and eloquent plea to require that health insurance cover early diagnosis and treatment. It is a fight I have taken up in my home state of Oklahoma, and as hard as I have fought, I have never made the case as convincingly as this video. Thanks for your encouragement to continue this fight for all the families who struggle with autism - in Oklahoma and beyond.
