Well if I remember the last model of classic controller had two trigger more than the original.. Im mot sure tough its been a while since I played wii
@psno1994 Sorry to say that i'm not sure, I did this ages ago. There are easier ways to do this now though, other programs that have GUIs and do a better job anyway. This was a huge pain in the ass. I don't even have this setup anymore.
my reason for a gamepad is... i found out my pc has an hdmi input, and have used the ps3 controller to play emulated N64 games b4. So... 42 inch screen... or 19 inch screen... hmmm, choices, choices.
42 inch screens are never good for gaming, EVER, i bought a projector so i can have upto 120inch if i want, but trust me youll never go past 32inch, id be surprised if you even went passed 24inch on a pc
That's not actually a button, it's a latch release for a "remote holder" that goes into the slots on the back of the controller. Grips and stuff attach to it - but it was pretty much never used.
could i do this kinda thing with a ps3 controller. i use xpadder and it works with css but i havn't got fallout 3 yet so im not sure if it will work fully, like for changing target in vats u use the mouse usually so i dont know if using the dpad or whatever will work?
Tom, you could do this just as easily, probably easier, with the ps3 controller, but you need the xinput emulator at the site I mentioned as Fallout 3 only "accepts" xbox 360 controllers for the console control scheme, so you need to trick it. I can't tell you how to get it to "work," i did this like, a year ago, and I don't have it working anymore, but you need an "xinput" emulator.
i know you said you cant remember how to get it to work but. i downloaded it and im kinda confused, i dont have my new pc yet so i cant try it on fallout 3 but i gunna try it on portal. can you remember anything about how u do it. all i know is u put sum stuff in the games exe folder and then what?
It won't work with portal, only games that use the xinput framework to use an xbox 360 controller. You'll wantto get something like xpadder for that. Fallout was specail because it ONLY uses the xbox controller, and NO other game controllers are compatible with it. - but using one gives you the exact same controls as the console version.
That won't work with portal.
THe xinput emu has NO user interface, it took me hours to figure out. Sorry I can't help more. Look at my reply to this video.
oh, im not really sure what you mean but on steam it says that both portal and fallout 3 have "controller support" so you can use a 360 controller with it.
"controller support" and "xinput support" are different. Xinput relates ONLY and DIRECTLY to xbox 360 controllers, and Xinput games won't function with ANY other controller. There are special rules. Portal supports controlelrs, but not Xinput, so while xbox 360 controllers work, they won't automatically have the console controls in the same way Fallout 3 does when used with a 360 controller.
Okay, Portal by default, works with several controllers. But fallout 3 is a "games for windows" game with xinput, which means it ONLY works with the xbox360 controller. I don't own one, so I used an emulator to trick the game into thinking the Wii controller was an xbox controller. Your ps3 controller WILL NOT WORK unless you use the xinput emulator for fallout, but it WILL work on portal regardless.
Play what? We are talking about two games at once here, which one are you referring to?
Generally no, if you are using the xinput emulator, you need to edit the ini file it comes with to match your computers controller/joystick settings.
If you are using it for PORTAL, you still need to edit the controller settings manually via either xpadder or the in-game settings. When it comes to PC games, controller support rarely just "works" without configuration.
one thing I noticed about fallout 3 is I can't change my vats key from E and since I use my left hand for the mouse, I'm forced to switch my usual fps controls for my keyboard to RDFG for movement which is really annoyin for me, if anybody can help me please ... :[
i see people argueing about fps but WaW for the wii is a really good shooter and doesnt have auto aim. The only reason i got the was for fps and now dead space is comeing to the wii :)
but it is a railroad shooter, which means it moves itse;f, but u still have all the powers, and it is a totally different game (its a prequel to the other dead space)
well i have a computer a good 1 and i play fallout with a xbox controller on my pc just because its funner, but i cant play full FPS's on Xbox because its way to hard for me to aim but with a mouse and keyboard you can suck or u can be awesome with gr8 reflexes, just look at CSS pathed the way for serious FPS players around the world and a FPS on xbox or ps3 or whatever will never stack upto the controll you get from a PC
PC sucks for FPS. Just point cursor and left click. No skills involved. Using console controllers takes real skills. This video is dumb because its too much hassle to use a shittier controller
Maybe you're just too fuckin retarded to operate a mouse and keyboard. PC provided the foundation for FPS games and still is the best option out there for best reflexes and accuracy. What are you, a mac user who thinks your shit smells like roses? Fucktard!
Ye some might ask why you'd use a controller if you've got the PC version, and I thought exactly the same before I got the game - because controllers suck for FPS in my opinion. However since we have VATS, sitting back on my bed with the 360 controller when I can't be bothered sitting at my PC and wanna be lazy = win!
I think part of it is that the FPS element of Fallout 3 is really downplayed. Vats is the preferred way to play - you hit more, the hits do more damage, you conserve ammo - and compared to Cod4 or other popular multiplatform shooters, the FPS element is sort of mid-range, not bad, but not good enough to stand on its own.

ok my question. is it 4 the wii or not?
halofreek109 2 years ago
No, the video itself shows it running on my laptop. This is the PC version of the game using the Wii controller through some tricks.

what about that one button that's directly above the Home button?

Don't bother arguing with that asshole, Hes probably some kid who's first console was the 360 and thinks FPS' started on Consoles.
Obviously not a real gamer or hasn't played anything Older than Halo 1.
halomaster0404 3 years ago
your a dumb ass majinkobe. mouse takes skil to aim consoles use auto aim which is basically a aim bot that aims for you.
feczor 3 years ago
That's one of the reasons PC is best for shooters, using the mouse and keyboard in concert providing increased accuracy over clumsy controllers.
