Silent Hill Series.. well I'll narrow it down (SH1, SH3, and SH:0rigins) are the best in the series with SH3 being my favorite. I havn't come across a game more frightening.. SH takes the pop scares that RE 1 and 2 are known for but adds psychological horror that no game can reproduce.

@lightningwolf437 a glitch..... lets say that there was a big thing right were the nurse was killed,and it was moved by something (lets forget about what moved it), well the game data only registers the walking so its just like if there was nothing but if the enemy or player dies the data "corrupts" (if you dont understand what i mean with corrupts send me a message) and makes the body fall, if hits the floor right on the spot it has to touch the floor AND the "corrupted" part... its funny also

You are defencless and have to play it stealthy throughout the whole game by running away and hiding. what i do like about SM are the extra features like your phone and how you interact with things. if you could fight in that game i like it a lot.

@24jackbauer10 its odd how people justify the best horror game. silent hill may be scarier but resident evil apeals to a lot more people and has been a lot more successful then silent hill from all the games and movie released. now look at siren blood curse and fatal fram/project zero, way scarier then SH and RE combined but not so much fame.

resident evil has a mixture of the scares, the action, less restictions. it may be slightly watered down horror but it gets more attention because of it.

@24jackbauer10 The goal on Biohazard is to provide stress with few means of survival, the new titles whoever are debatable on such subject. Silent hill is meant to provide a constant feel of unease in face of an unexplained horror that is very much mental, like when you stare into the dark and so much you wonder you begin to see things there. Origins, in my opinion, fails miserably at said goal, the usa team is focusing too much in gore and the series icons such as nurses and pyramid head.
