For example, they're not allowed to say Dorothy's name or say the actual words "Yellow Brick Road". However, if you read the book, Dorothy has a much bigger role than what is shown in the musical.

People should give the people who play them a chance.... Like what the play's about. I have read quite a few people who have been hating it alread for the fact that they aren't Kristin and Idina, and yes I love them too, but they are too old to play colledge students. So maybe they aren't the original, but give them a chance to prove themselves.

@DreamingOfATony but idina is one of the choices for the film-elphie as far as i know. we´ll see how they will decide. i actually quite like idina, though i would prefer a british version for a change. (since there is no british West End OST there could be one of the movie :D but i doubt it ;-;)

I've seen it three time w/ different, and might i add better qualified actresses as elphaba and galinda. no, haven't seen idina or kristin in the roles, but have the soundtrack and have seen them on the tony's perform defying gravity. idina is good but a little over-rated as elphaba and kristin seems to be better suited to preform current (pop) hits (go to itunes to download her current music.

i am torn in two :/ I would LOVE a musical movie like Rent because I can listen to the songs and watch all my favorite parts! But, I feel a movie would take away from the magic on stage (like the Defying Gravity flying sequence that gives me chills every time) . But I am leaning towards wanting a movie more ;)

I'm really excited to see what they're going to do with a Wicked movie. It obviously won't have Kristin and Idina, though, because they've far outgrown the roles (Idina was like, 34 or 35 when she started playing Elphie, and that was several years ago). They'll probably cast people that can pull of being 18 or 19, like the witches were when they started at Shiz and older for the later years. Still, I'm really excited for a Wicked movie! Great job on the teaser. It looked really well made. ^^

They are SUPPOSE to be making a movie, they said it would come out 2016, but they haven't really started yet.

@TotalyCA They are actually making a movie about it, they've been dissgussing it this year, I'm hoping that Idina Menzel and Kirsten Chenoweth are in it, apparently they are hoping to be, but I heard that Lea Michele was also interesting in the Elphaba roll, so she might try for it.... :P

@screamer108 Last I heard, they decided Idina and Kristin were too old for the roles so they aren't going to offer them. I hope I was misinformed and they're cast though.

I'm really excited to see what they're going to do with a Wicked movie. It obviously won't have Kristin and Idina, though, because they've far outgrown the roles (Idina was like, 34 or 35 when she started playing Elphie, and that was several years ago). They'll probably cast people that can pull of being 18 or 19, like the witches were when they started at Shiz and older for the later years. Still, I'm really excited for a Wicked movie! Great job on the teaser. It looked really well made. ^^
