This video is like anything I produce, (and hopefully what anybody who produces media does this) I am my worst critic. I look back at what I made and see the flaws, inconsistencies, and ideas that fell short. My double bass usage was one of those areas. My student jpswart8878 covered this one too. Check out his rendition, it's pretty good!
@MidasTitus Nice! His is awesome too! Also, on the chorus, I play 8ths on the ride, snare on two and four, and i hit the hi hat on "a" of two (2 e and a), and it works pretty well. Maybe if I get a camera that doesn't distort and some decent cymbals (Peace stock hi hats are what I have... ick) I'll put up my version.

When I play this song I play double bass too :p differently than you, though. I play straight 16ths on bass at 2:15 area
