Am I the only person who genuinely believes that WW1 was far more horrible than WW2(except for the Holocaust of course, it's kind of hard to top that)?
and the signature for world war 2 already was set during the treaty of versailles. germany was blamed ruined for a war they didnt started. but what i believe some of the main reasons for ww1 was that germany and its allies became to powerfull in the eyes of the french and english. if you look at europe germany haves 2/3 of all cole in europe to mantain its industry so it could keep building weapons at a fast rate. and this was big treat for the french and english so they decided to figth germany

its logical that ww1 was overshadowed by ww2 many more countrys where involved in ww2 then ww1 and there was figthing evrywhere around the globe in ww2. and do,nt forget the so called holocaust of the nazi,s in ww2 thats why almost evryone speaks about ww2 and many people around my age do,nt even know that there was a ww1. because ww1 happend 100 years ago. but that is no reason to forget the men in ww1 who figted for there ego governements and died for nothing.
The Great War has been overshadowed by Vietnam and World War II. The Great War needs more recognition. No one really knows the true purpose of the fighting. I respect all the fallen soldiers throughout the 20th century regardless of uniform
And yes, Dragonfly1Scorpion, it is true that no one really understands the First World War anymore. No one remembers the hell those who fought went through, not to make the world safe, but merely to survive. Some, in America, say that the War of 1812 is the forgotten war. They are wrong. It is the Great War that has been forgotten. And that is a cause for shame.
For the whole of the world, THEY were our greatest generation.
It is such a good song. The only bad part is that more people have not seen it! The vid is great, the song is perfect for it. There just aren't words.
though this video represents it pretty well (good work ghostdog!) people cannot possibly understand the madness of the trench fighting or the war in total.
Again such a good vid m8 ! Im from belgium tbh xd Passendale is actually not far from where i live ^^ when i think about that, its soo strange ... Those Germans ,,,
i made a playlist of some from your sabatonn movies with lirycs tell me if you upload new sabaton movies with lirycs than i can put them into my playlist
Great vid. Been listening to this song for a long time now. These lines always talk to me: "Thousande of feet march to the beat, it's an army on the march. Long way, from home. Paying the price with young mens lives."
Have you heard about the Ypres fire department? Every night at 8pm they play the last post in memorial of all those who fell in the war. They started doing so after the war's end, with the only exception being during WW2 when it wasn't allowed. For 90 years they have done this every night. If that doesn't say something about the impact, I don't know what does
That's a reason why I love metal. Is there a rap or even a rock band with lyrics about History, litterature, and all that kind of stuff ? I mean, yes, there could be some... but in metal, Sabaton isn't the only band with this kind of lyrics. And that is very cool. No attack on rap and other types of music, of course. Just tellin' my feelings! (sorry for my english).
@mrjwvd Who said that it should be trench warfare? You could be a turkish soldier shooting with mgs on brits and shit. You could be a croatian on river soča killing stupid italians...? who said that it should be brits and germans?
I had a similar aidea while ago: german/austrian campaign on the east front? fighting in the african colonies? fighitn in the pitch black fortresses of Verdun? and i don't think oyu should make a game working like Cod, more a tactical game like operation flashpoint
"Good God, did we really send men to fight in that?"
Lieutenant-General Sir Lancelot Kiggell, Chief of Staff to the Commander in Chief of the British Expeditionary, Force Field Marshal Sir Douglas Haig upon viewing the battlefield following the Flanders campaign.
WWI is the perfect example of why it is important not to write blank checks to Politicians and Generals and to give them your kids with no questions asked.

everyone pay attention to the shot at 2:26. German soldiers rescue a frenchman. To me, that shot is the face of the whole war, all the soldiers are equal victims of it. A fellow soldier is in trouble and they help him even though he wears a different uniform.
@sebas379 Its true. This war was literally a bunch of rich noble classes royalty having a military dick competition. and their is a saying about such things. "When the rich wage war, its the poor who die."
Yes I know about it. You should watch the french movie joyeux noël if you'r interested in the 1914 christmas truce. Great story if you ask me, it shows the soldiers fought each other cause they were conscripted, not cause they hated each other.
not just about the germans, though Germany was blamed for WW1, cause they lost it. Those soldiers all suffer from the war, no matter the colour of their uniform

Such a waste of life, Gallipoli, Passion Dale, Verdun, Ypres, Somme, Isonzo.

the ww1 setting deserves ether a lame game(mg's do no damage) or a bad game(mg's are OP)
the situation is just not good for a good game

@mrjwvd Well, who sayd that they should be realistic? I did say that it could be like call of duty.

@domagoj905
even if its not realistic
in ww1 there only a few smg's/lmg's and semi-automatic rifles
so try playing cod(1) with the german kar98, and ONLY that weapon
u think it will be fun?
what i mean is that the trench-warfare isn't good for a shooter
