  • the revival sounds like actors at a demo session

  • Thank you for putting this together!!!! It's awesome.

  • this is so emotional i think i like both

  • I must say this was very well done. Amazing blending skills!

  • i loved Patti LuPone :O

the toby in the theatre version is creepy >.>

  • @xTotallyxBossx He is, but that's the point.

  • I love Johnny Deep but ALL of these Sweeney's put his voice to shame!

  • Agreed,Depp played the part well but unfortunatly was not an excellent singer. He deserved the oscar nomination and the golden globe tho!!!

  • So did they change the show so that Sweeney slits Mrs. Lovett's throat at the end instead of pushing her in the oven? I'm just asking because of the whole red moment.

  • Yeah, the revival didn't have an oven. Or a barber chair for that matter. Very minimalistic. So Sweeney just stabs her multiple times with the razor.

  • If there was no chair then did Sweeney say something different from "No one's in the chair! Come on! Come on!" in Epiphany?

  • No, he said "No one's in the chair! Come on! Come on!". He still said it.

  • And what did she open when Sweeney said "OPEN THE DOORS I SAID!!!"?

I'd like to see it. I adore this. First was the movie, but it was very quickly overshadowed by the 1982 version.

  • I saw it about a month ago, he doesn't say that. Lovett just says "He was clutching onto my dress but now he's finished" then Sweeney discovers the beggar woman. They just cut that "Open the doors!" line completely

  • Good mash-up! :>

Call me a snob, but I much prefer the theatre version to the movie, I think, with regards to the singing. I haven't had a chance to see the movie, but the clips I have heard sound a bit weak. Give me Angela & George any day!

  • what does she say?

    Die..die *somethingsomething* die.

Its sounds like die in heaven.

    but it coudnt be.

  • I think it was "Die ... die. God in heaven, die!"

that's what it sounds like to me. I could wrong, though.

  • No, i think youre right! Thanks!

  • "Die, die! God in heaven die!"

  • Deep...wow

    LOVE IT!!!!

  • Ah, Sondeim. Beautiful and depressing at the same time.

  • i love the full orchestra thingie to just the violin when he realized it was Lucy. :)

  • =(

He never knew it was Johanna who he saw before he went downstairs.

    =(

  • so sad. i felt SO nad for mr. todd. when i saw the movie, i was crying.

  • I feel sorry for him too, but I really wish he could love Ms. Lovett too. Dammit...no one can be happy in a Sondheim musical.
