Pay parking will just make more people park in the supermarket car parks and lead to less trade for the small buisnesses around the town. this has been proven in other areas. the councils make more money but over time the town centers slowly turn into ghost towns.
got to say living in greenock all my life i never really noticed the bad parking. but geez some of those cars were hilarious. and gotta love the wee common greenock people trying to speak normaly on camera, you can tell its hard for us lol.
Greenock is the only place that i can think off that haven't handed over responsibility from Traffic Wardens/Police to the Council ,i may be wrong about this but l nearly fell over when i seen a Boni Fidi Traffic Warden,gob smacked i was.
If you think it was bad then have a wee look now. Cutbacks mean no traffic wardens free parking anywhere yipeeee!

Use some strong men to toss the cars. Kind of like "tossing the caber" at the Highland games. That should clear up some parking spaces. LOL
