You'd be surprised how many leftist thinkers became more centrist after 911 took place. I think that's when Bob shifted. If you read his books you'll see what I mean. I have much more confidence in Bob's abilities to handle the economy than when he was with the NDP.
@pugloverjsaf I don't understand what the issue is. If he was an NDP supporter or sympathizer he would either still be with them. Or he would have merge the liberals with the NDP after the May 2nd election. The NDP only badgers the liberals to join their party every friggin week!

Part of it had to do with Mulroney's incompetence to deal with the economic recession at the time (early 90s).

I think we have a personal responsibility as citizens to vote based on educated decisions. not on, "which leader rubs me the right way'. Ignatieff I couldn't stand, but I voted for the liberal party. I wish Jack Layton was a liberal sometimes, he was such a nice guy, but terrible policies. That's why I dont really care how Bob Rae did as an NDP premier 20-25 years ago. He's a liberal now. big diff
