You're looking for the "Organize" drop down menu. That'll be where you can export via an html file.

@dmz1a extension sync would overwhelm google servers IF you backed up the entire extension file saved on your hard drive.

But i think it would be a great idea if it saved configuration files (like, your options) of the extension into a list so that it could all install with your options that you set on the original computer

The bookmarks are stored, it seems, within Google Docs. And the fucking irritating part is that you CANNOT delete them. AND when it MERGES with other bookmarks you get stuck with more stuff you can never get rid off.

1 thing wrong with this and has to be fixed. if you click the star and hold the button it would be comfortable if a window comes similar to ie8 and you can choose 1 of your bookmarks otherwise it just wasts space siting there beneath the search bar

Well here's my simple solution. Go to Google and search for " Using Google Bookmarks : Manage your bookmarks ". Click the link with the above search term. Read the page and add the Google Bookmark to Chrome. Then visit Google Bookmarks and add it as a bookmark in Chrome. Third enable sync bookmarks in Chrome Beta. After their synced you can enable it in the other copies of Chrome that you use and you'll end up with two simple bookmarks. One to save a bookmark and one to open them. Hope it helps.

um, I don't think your method works. When you save a bookmark using the technique you've just laid out, it unfortunately won't save it to Google Bookmarks.

Google Bookmarks should be incorporated directly into Chrome for those who want that--it should be an option.

I still use Firefox rarely .. when doing webdev, and in the rare instance that a page isn't well rendered in G.Chrome, and also when I want to be logged onto two gmail (or similar) accounts at once. Google Chrome on my computer supports like up to 40 or so browser instances .. any other browser has crashed & died at around 10 or 15; if G.Chrome crashes, normally the crash is confined to the specific problematical instance; with other browsers all die if one dies. luv--> G.Chrome !

I can't understand why not syncing with google boomarks. You already have a technology for keeping bookmarks online, just glue it into the browser. There's a plugin for firefox able to do that, so you can have "synced" bookmarks and local bookmarks. Tags could turn into one level folders, so a bookmark with two tags would be found on two folders. It can't be that difficult
