  • the engine on the 2009-present Lincoln MKT

    Engine

    3.7 L Cyclone V6

    3.5 L EcoBoost GTDI V6

  • They fixed the seat folding problem with power folding!

  • Too bad this Town Car replacement ends up looking like a station wagon or hearse to most people..huge fail for Lincoln..and embarrassing Town Car replacement. You couldn't pay me to drive this ugly thing.

  • @Nightbird i WILL pay u 2 drive this ugly thing as i need a chauffeur having just won lotto. what do u say?

  • @arnold84500 I already drive an S Class Mercedes Benz..so I'm afraid I can't accept your offer..but thank you anyways & enjoy your lotto money. =)

  • Comment removed

  • @Nightbird its a hell of a lot better looking than the cadillac SRX tho lol. then again all the lincolns looks better than the cadillacs... and last longer too.

  • I don't like some of the design elements on this vehicle at all (the grille; the back end appeals to me some days, other days, not really), I don't particularly like crossovers, it's much bigger than what I need or want most of the time, yet for some reason I want one of these really badly! It seems to me more like a tall station wagon than a crossover. Someone mentioned the Mercedes R-class--I agree. I like the view from the side best of all.

  • @MaestroTJS u sound conflicted n confused. do u debate whether to shit or get off the pot as well?

  • I'm a Ford guy but this thing is hideous! It reminds me of a PT-Cruiser, which to me is about the ugliest pile of crap ever to hit the streets...

  • He should have mentioned the awesome powerfold 3rd row option. It has options to put the seats up, down, folded flat, or flipped back in "tailgate mode" all with the push of a button.

  • @frank55656 Surprisingly it does :P

    but ur right too :D

  • Personally I LOVE the MKT's design.....it's Very Bold and Unique...i don't think its ugly at all.

The Interior Design Is Beautiful and Classy.....The Ecoboost engine makes 355 Horsepower on Regular....that's even more of a Selling point!...downright impressive!

  • Sorta reminds me of the Mercedes R class, but way better looking and cheaper.

  • one of the best looking cars on the road now

  • Navigation systems should be just as standard as air conditioning is on cars these days. It costs car makers virtually nothing to add them. GPS apps on a smart phone are frequently free or low cost. Stand alone GPS units cost anywhere from $50 to $300. Yet car makers still charge $1,000+ for navigation.

I hate how car makers artificially inflate the prices of things, such as GPS, xenon headlights, etc. in an effort to keep their profits high. The markup of such items is thousands of percent.

  • you got to addmit linclon does no how to make i nice car on inside and out

  • this vehicle doesnt look that roomy considering he's only 5'10".

  • so this vehicles only competetor is the Merc. R Class? i would buy the r class anyday over this. it looks better, has an adult friendly third row, and it looks WAYYYY better.

  • I dunno what the hell they were smoking with that back end design

  • OMG the back seats are SO tricky - gimme a break.

  • @shwmehvn I know, what BS thing to focus on.

  • The front is very gorgeous but

    the back isn´t really nice...

  • I really like this car. If only I can affordd one. Im loving my 2002 ford explorer sport track thats paid for. I like money in my pocket.

  • why bye a mini van? when you can get this

  • WOW! The seats are SO TRICKY to fold!!! Every 3rd Row seat has a diagram to show you how to do it!

  • Don't know about u but this car looks like Darth Vader's crossover vehicle.

  • It may look odd here, but I've seen one in person and it's actually quite a good looking vehicle.

  • This is the ugliest car I've ever seen except maybe the Pontiac Aztec. Good lord.

  • As a European I must say I really like this vehicle. Design is spot on and gorgeous, and inside is finally as it should be for this class.

There are a few things that should be changed like more automatic seat folding, and rear lights with more see-through glass and led graphics, and the engine should be something 2.5 twin turbine charged with better mileage, diesel optional. Like that, they could sell it in EU, no problem :)

  • Very awkward design!

  • People like to say that the MKT is ugly, but I like telling them that it sure does look better [and is better] than the Buick Enclave. =]

  • It looks like a camel;)

  • Its spelled INFINITI not infinity:/

  • Really nice non-minivan car! I saw one the other day and it looked really nice.

  • I love in when they review 50K cars. As if anyone wouldn't wan it .

  • Ugly car!!! lincoln is getting worse and worse

  • This is a luxury car? I don"t think so. The designer is way off the beam. Who would want an MKT, the replacement for the town car, when it has bucket seats & a stupid console shifter, & much less leg room. Get with it, bring back REAL automobiles, with real bumpers, less plastic & rubber on the body, comfortable split reclining BENCH seats, & most important, NO console! An automatic transmission shifter should be on the steering column. Only a manual shift belongs on the floor.

  • @alloutoftime r u 100?

  • @auggles No, i"m a realist. who just misses real cars.

  • @alloutoftime by real cars u mean inefficient and slow ones

  • @auggles No, you got me all wrong, Im trying to point out : big ,comfortable, powerful cars that look good, made with quality materials, not from recycled plastic & garbage. Cars with power & torque.

  • @alloutoftime but the mkt and flex r hav u ever been in one or the taurus sho, all of which r american, comfortable and dont hav front bench seats or steering column shifters basically the only cars today like the ones u described r trucks, the mercedes s-class (but that doesnt hav a bench seat but the shifter on the steering column), and the buick lucerne but the lucerne is horrible

  • it looks ike a fish

  • I wish Ralph Gilles from Chrysler worked at Ford. He could make this rather odd looking MKT look really good.

  • I like the flex better

  • What an ugly car is this !! Especially the front and vack Typical american, bigger is more beautiful... Not

  • One thing to say. What a weird face it has. Makes me get goosebumps. Lol

  • NO, no CUV 3rd row space in the world are like that NEVER

that 3rd row is so pathetic that it simply cannot fit anything more than a 6 year old or a small dog/cat

even the mini coopers's back seat is about 500% times more comfortable, yes im not joking at all, i tested them both

    that is just PATHETIC, period

  • I have yet to see this vehicle driving on the road. I've seen the mks many many many times, almost daily now, and the mkz alot as well, but this new mkt seems to be struggling. Not one model... maybe i'll pass by a dealership to see one in person, i might like it :S

  • This is what I call UGLY!!! This is the most hideous and disgusting looking SUV in the world. Damn this si sooooooo UGLY!!!

  • Overall the MKT is VERY nice. However, unlike the Flex, the third row is for kids. Don't get me wrong, the legroom back there is nice, but head room is of decapitation status... I'm only 5'8".

  • I'm not talking about other shoppers, I specifically said "I" as in "not other shoppers"

  • one word. RUBBISH!

  • Ugh, Ford really needs to get on the damn ball all ready with Lincoln. Like what GM did with Buick. The Taurus SHO is georgeous, and I would MUCH rather have that then the MKS. Same with the rest of the range. Ford Division GREATER THAN Lincoln Division.

  • I like it! But let's be honest... 54k???? 54k??? No offense, cuz it's amazing, but I'd rather invest in a pre owned 08 cts-v...

Like I said, great car, but come on ford, America is broke...

  • its terrible

the cost is the same as a porsche cayenne, and supposedly it has 3 rows of seats, but the 3 row seats has no head room wut so ever, basically no one beyond grade 4 elementary school can fit in... its im wondering why would any one buy the same price for this thing over a porsche cayenne or bmw m5 or audi q7... good luck on sa

  • @warset why? maybe because for the price of the base cayenne (even less, actually), you can have a fully loaded mkt with many more feautures. not to mention the mkt is substantially faster with the ecoboost engine than any of porsche's, audi's, bmw's, mercedes, etc. offerings in the *same* price range (again, even less). sure, interior quality might not be as good as the europeans, but the rest of the car is better. sadly, people will get the audi, bmw, etc. simply 'cause of the name.

  • picking this up tomorrow:)

  • picked it up today, and it is super fly, got the refrigerator in the back seat, super hot interior, awesome vehicle.

  • OMG NICE CAR

  • wait till they put that grill on the navigator!

  • @markmarshall39 thatl look sick

  • i had a 2003, but with that grill, omg!!

  • i had a 2003, with that grill, omg!

  • I like that it doesn't look like any other car on the road. This car is balls-out fast on the open road with incredible passing ability. I sat in one the other day, and the interior styling is superb....as nice as a Lexus.

  • jesus 54k?

  • Station wagon.....

  • The Cadillac SRX is more comparable to the Lincoln MKX. This competes more with the Ford Flex and Buick Enclave

  • HOW DOES IT COMPETE WITH THE CADDY? This is for a family, and is a large sized crossover. The SRX is small? This competes with the Audi Q7, or Buick Enclave.

  • @fp3shb How does this compete with the Buick and not the Caddy??? The Cadillac SRX and the Buick Enclave are built off the same platform. They're basically the same car with different branding.

  • @artol2k The MKT and Enclave seat 7+. SRX does not. The MKT vs the Enclave are 208 inches to 202. Clearly more competitive with each other, where as the SRX is for a different shopper. It is 190 inches. Almost two feet smaller than the MKT. How are those two capable of competing? If you did research you would know The MKX(186 inches) is the SRX's competition, both are luxury mid-size. And dumbass the Enclave is from the Lambda platform and the SRX is from the Sigma, get your facts straight.

  • @fp3shb

LMFAO.....ok...whatever...you're right...doesn't take much to get you riled up does it??? Thanks for letting me know I got under your skin... I find it very humorous...you made my day...Thanks again!!!

  • @artol2k Lol someone doesn't like to admit they were just made to look like a dumbass.

  • @fp3shb

You're still upset??? That's awesome! You just made my night too. Thank you sooo much!

  • I REALLY LIKE THE DESIGN. i think lincoln is going the right way with this car. My neighbor actually just bought it.

  • @parthshin

I envy your neighbor. It's sad that the MKT isn't selling good. I would buy it in a second if I had the money.

  • LMAO....digitalrebel YOU SPEAK THE TRUTH MY FRIEND!!

  • MY family might be buying this.

  • the old one was ugly

  • nice van

  • Lol.. Nice Van?

  • Beautiful car.

  • I will give you an very simple answer...

For 54K I can buy Infiniti, Lexus, Acura, Audi, Mercedes, BMW... and all those cars are better than any Chevy...

  • Yeah...but, Infinity, Lexus, Acura and, Audi dosen't make anything like the Linc. MKT! ;-)

  • 2nd..., Lexus, Benz, Infinity and, Audi cost way more than Lincoln and, most of them don't even have the luxury features as Lincoln have(SYNC systems, auto back-up systems, chrome wheels, etc..) As far as, engine power and, performance goes..., I'll take my hat off for foreign cars...but, they're waaaay over priced for just about the same luxury/performance you can get for American made luxury/performance cars!

  • I bet now that you are blaming me for not being patriot by talking against cars made here in the states.

But one thing you don't understand is that actually I'm helping them by criticizing their products.

And actually you are the one who is not helping by saying how good they are.... although they are not good at all.

Just check the customers report scores and you will see that imports are always on the top of the list and the domes6tics are always in the bottom for the last 15 year6s..

  • And, the reason why most domestic vehicles are at the bottom at the list is, people aren't giving credit when, credit it due! It's ALOT of biased people in America(not only towards cars but, towards just about everything American made)so, I'd say, you're effecting them rather than, helping them! For ex..., most Ford cars are near or, at the top of the list for quality and, reliability...but, some people still like to down Ford or, any other domestic auto manufactor.

  • The only think which is wrong with this MKT is the price... if should be around 35K $.

  • All of those looks, luxury features and, power for only 35k? You must be smoking! That's like asking for a Porsche to be priced like a VW!

  • OK tell me what is Lincoln done before to make me pay 54K $ for their cars.

Lexus, Infiniti, Mercedes, Audi are all know for their high quality cars. And they have a good history of satisfied clients. Even though Mercedes and Audi aren't very reliable they are still great cars.

Tell me why do I have to pay 54K $ for linkoln ? I may impress my grandfather and grand mother... but I don't care what they think of my car anyway...

  • Well, for starters..., Lincolns are VERY reliable, strong, luxury cars with a very good history! It's still classical Lincolns from the 50s and, 60s still rolling on roads, 2day! You can't say the same about Lexuses, Infinities and, Benzes. I have 2 cars('99 Chevy 'Burban and, a '93 Infinity Q45). The Chevy have 5,000 more miles on it than, the Infinity and, the Infinity is giving me more problems(after numerous engine work)...yet, the Chevy still remains strong!

  • I also own an Infiniti - 2002 i35. And I'LL tell you that there is no Chevy from 02,03,04 or 05 which can be compared to my Infinity.

It i refined, well balanced, agile, and pleasure to drive. The paint and the leather are in almost excellent condition besides the fact that the car is 7 years old.

  • Well..., don't get me wrong. You can't really compare Chevy to Infinity(in terms of luxury...unless, you're comparing it to Caddy, Buick or, Saab)but, as far as, performance, you sure the heck can! ;-)

  • Over the last couple of years..., Toyota had noticable quality and, reliability decline...but, people still put Toyota on pedistals and, buy their vehicles. Smh.. They reason why, I say their fabolous cars is, I see, their made out of good quality meterials and, their very reliable. I drivin' foreign cars, also that, are made with good quality materials...but, really..., they're not so different(in that catagory)but, performance wise..., they're pretty much are.

  • Dude are you a manager in one of those noneffective and low quality car manufacturing plants somewhere here in the states.

You are talking just like those dumb ass so called managers... business people...

For the last 20 years those people fucked up the built quality and d66esign of the American brands...

But if you ask them how the thinks are they will never admit that... all they do is deny and deny...

Denying is not going to help anyone, cars they make are bad and nobody want them...

  • Lol.. I can assure you that, I'm not an employee of FoMoCo. or, any other American Auto Manufactor. I just know good automobiles when, I see one. Not to say that, foreign automobiles aren't good...but, American made good automobiles eversince, they've been in business! The only reason why, American brands made certain vehicles was, to compete with the foreigners because, some Americans wanted a different kind of automobile rather than, a big, heavy car.

  • (continued)

So, in order to please the people..., they had to switch some vehicles to smaller, more fuel efficient vehicles(no matter if the quality was high or, not). They wanted to please the people because, at the time, that was the way Toyota, Nissan and, Honda was making their cars until, they started to improve in quality. American brands have always been making good quality cars but, some people just wanted something different just to say, they have something different than, American.

  • Dude you are killing me... don't get me wrong but I think that you need to see a doctor.

For last 20 years American cars have been rated way below average from every self respecting institution... And you still keep saying that they ware good ?!?

If you say that now they are trying yo improve the quality and they are working very hard to do that... I may believe you, but to say that they ware always good and we ware the one who didn't realize that...

Do you think that I'm stupid?

  • Well..., that's easy to say from a person whom, never really driven an American luxury car(Caddy, Lincoln and, Chrysler). Even on YT..., if you look at all the comparisons between Foreign and, American luxury cars over the years, the Americans won most comparisons where mattered most! For ex..., go to Yahoo Autos and, compare the '95-'03 Lincoln LS or, Contenintal and, Caddy STS or DeVille to the MB. E-Class, BMW 3 or, 5 series or, any other foreign comparison and, tell me, what's so better!

  • The 3rd row seat design is horrible same with the rear of the car not interested id rather buy the cadillac srx or lexus rx450h at least these crossovers are worth there value

  • It is ugly... not getting me in the showroom. Lincoln is no where near Cadillac.

  • Butt ass ugly

  • Why did they have to make it so ugly?!?!

  • Wow, who is the guy who designed the rear end of both the MKT and MKX and MKZ. Must be blind. Ugliest cars on the market today in terms of rear design.

  • U.G.L.Y. you ain't got no alibi!

  • beautifull car

  • NICE!

  • the Cadillac SRX looks better.

  • oo ik the Cadillac does look better...i hate the rear tail lights

  • mpg really sucks tho

  • no joke! this car makes a really good hearse

  • Funeral car

  • The grill looks like shit ... no wait, the whole car looks like shit.

  • The funeral homes deserve some updates lol

  • I like the overall look of the MKT because it looks like it is copied from everything else in the car industry, like Mazda CX-9 and Audi Q7. The front grill is just downright ugly and it seems like every car company is making these big and imposing grills.

  • I predict that this vehicle will phail.

  • Damn that thing looks like shit. No wonder american cars are doing so damn bad.

Id rather take toyota's crossover, the Venza. FAR cheaper than this crap.

  • the new RX looks better

  • this thing would look good with 22's

  • nah brah 26's

  • 26 is to big for me, i would drop it a good 2 or 3 inches and the 22's would look pretty good

  • too expensive and too ugly.

  • Fugly.

  • People will indeed be talking about the front of this car, but only to comment on how incredibly ugly it is. It's surprising to see that even after the bailouts American car makers are still shooting themselves in the foot with models like this. I don't know how Lincoln has managed to keep producing unexciting and poorly designed cars like this for decades. Maybe this MKT is just their way of accelerating natural selection...

  • Ford didn't take any bailout money, that's probably why the posted a 3rd quarter profit.

  • Nice interior...but thats it.

  • Damn dont get rearended in this thing lol

  • I don't like the idea of a $55k Lincoln luxury SUV without wood trim, but I guess someone does.

  • I love it!

  • Comment removed

  • Its more unique and retro than the PT cruiser, but still more modern!! too bad Ford is ending all their last american classic fullsizers: Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquiz, Marauder, Lincoln Town Car by 2011... a end of an american legacy... no more fullsizers :(

  • i agree its a shame to see St.Thomas assembly close, my father has worked there for 20 some years, and the Lincoln Town car, Mercury Grand Marquis and Ford Crown Vic will be missed in the market, also the Marauders where very cool cars, and i was fortunate to sit in one at the plant before they where shipped off in there first year, thus i was upset when they where discontinued, they where really nice cars, and i wouldn't mind buying a black one, there very slick,

  • They discontinued the Marauder a few years ago. But yeah it sucks all the full size cars are being replaced by ugly small cars. The only full size American cars now I guess are the Chrysler 300, and Chevy Impala.

  • This car is ugly!

  • This thing is gorgeous, I don't know why everyone is hating on it...it's awesome and UNLIKE everything else coming out, it doesnt look like anything else...CONGRATS for making something different and not stealing other companies designs!

  • This is one of the ugliest cars...ever...who in their right mind would buy this!?!

  • looks super old school! front and back, i love it

  • MKT is hot
