@Locke1217 Being a rapist, and murderer, and having autism are VERY different nurological disorders. Autistic people have too much empathy, but bad people skills, where as a rapist has no empathy, but has very good people skills that allow them to manipulate anyone.

An autistic person is the nicest and msot honest person you will meet, I should know, i just hope i dont bump into you because seem pretty damn evil.

Your story is very inspirational. I know someone with mild Asperger's and he is a very successful doctor.

I feel really sorry for all the people here saying people with Asperger's and other diseases are a waste, it makes me laugh, I can guarantee all of them have more serious mental and emotional problems are most likely won't do much with their lives. Saying things like that are very strong signs of low intelligence/self-esteem, depression, and even suicide. Feel so bad for them. Poor souls.

They just don't realize that everyone is different, but that doesn't mean we were cursed or anything. it just means that God almighty blessed us with special gifts for a good reason. Hi Jeff i have aspergers myself and i live in ireland and im just about to start doing talks on aspergers to people in the special needs profession and parents of people with aspergers about my own experiences and i was thinking of writing a book myself can you give me any tips in terms of genre a book with aspergers should be? because i have had a go at a mini autobiography but i cant seem to give it any length suitable enough to consist of a book as such

That's a great idea for you to do that. The tips I can best suggest since you're not sure about any length in your auto, maybe you should try make an actual story out of it using different characters playing you, family, and friends, but still have it based on you. You can also think about your life and try to remember what you can best and maybe that'll turn into something great. I hope that's good enough tips for you. Hope all goes well for you.:)

thank you. the best advice i can say is understand what the symptoms of AS are and then you may have a better idea. i can't say that there are do's and don'ts but there are lessons you can learn. my book is in the works of being looked at by Random House, Puffin, and Simon and Schuster.

My most prevalent symptom is keen senses. I can smell chocolate in the next room. I can notice a light that no one else does. Certain things people say or certain sounds that I hear really get next to me. Especially the song Don't you wish your Girlfriend was hot like me. It really bugs me.

My aspergers syndrome is kinda odd because I live in penticton BC, Canada and there I've had the worst experiences in life but I was born in Kelowna BC and everytime I go there to hang with my friends my aspergers seems to go away and I can act and speak normally. and not make a total ass of myself weird huh.

I know it can be hard to know what to talk about to others, but the best way to do it is first get involved with what they like and then add on what you like. This is what helped me acheive friendship. I now work at the Target in Sacramento for I now live there. I started working there last April.

Talking fast is a symptom of Asperger's. Reading and talking fast is one of the biggest problems I have along with making eye contact and having long-winded, one-sided conversations.

Well the publisher is Authorhouse, but it's a self-publishing company, and my book hasn't been selling becasue I can't afford any of the kits I'm offered; basically I have to advertise my book and sell it myself. Don't use authorhouse. I am now in the works of selling it to a company with the help of my agent. If we sell it, I'll let you know who they are.
