  • John, I met you in Sainsburys Hereford a few months ago. I thought you were a wicked bloke, but come on..... Your not from round here. You have moved here from the south east and your trying to stamp your mark on our countryside. With all due respect..... Piss off. In your view then, lets put up mor power stations, fuck the air up even more and shit on the English countryside some more. I think its a case of "Not in your back yard"! Piss off bloke....

  • what a plonker !

  • I agree with gotwind2, I love seeing Windfarms, I don't think they blot the Landscape at all. I actually think the "add" to the Landscape in some way.

  • alright boycie

  • What amazes me is that the people who say these white sticks are eyesores and uneconomical, think we should have more nuclear power stations! They're the ugliest, most expensive and dangerous option in the energy debate. I know which I would rather have built near me.

  • @swwf85 they're also the most efficient to build when you consider the power they generate and the length of time you can operate a nuclear power station for.

  • If you're on an island surrounded by the sea, a better alternative to costly, unsightly wind-farm turbines which produce very little compared to the little-known, highly profitable power derived from kinetic energy of undersea oceanic currents.

Search YouTube for "CETO Wave Power" an you'll see why ruining the landscape is simply not necessary...

Wave action energy is more economical, needs less maintenance, generates power at a fraction of the cost and less a couple of buoys, totally invisible.

  • i agree with john, wind farms do spoil the beauty of the land scape, if i won the lottery, i would buy all the land within a 10 mile radius of my farm, and make sure, there was no wind farms within it

  • See a recent article in The Telegraph, called "Wind farms could blight one in six beauty spots." The things are just too bloody tall and there's a finite amount of suitable acreage for them.

If smokestacks existed in that profusion, these so-called environmentalists (who are more like technoids) wouldn't stand for it. CO2 aside, the visual blight cannot be trivialized. Just living in a scenic area is part of life's appeal. To sacrifice that for "clean" energy is a dirty trick.

  • To accept wind turbines, you have to devalue the natural landscape and pretend that an industrial landscape is no big deal. That angle will never work for a lot of people, especially when they build them in pristine areas and ruin ancient views.

Also, there's too much emphasis on people being the main thing affected by turbines. Animals living among them must deal with the noise, and many are probably neurotic from it. This clip at least doesn't mask the noise, like some on YouTube try to.

  • @killzpwnz0red You stupid bastard. Wind farms do absolutely f all. Nuclear power is the only way forward. I hope you left wing twats die off so the world can function properly.

  • As Del said all the lads remember Marlene

  • Shut the hell up fools. This is BOYCIE!! Respect the mans opinions. They do ruin the countryside vistas but they do help towards reducing the production of c20, Sulphur Dioxide and such. But yeah he does have a good point. BTW Nuclear plants do not blow, just wait until a sustainable Nuclear Fusion plant has been created. There will be no need for these wind farms. But i agree they are good for now.

  • he's been playing Boycie for too long a period.

  • mike blanch is talking more dribble than John challis!! Making out he`d live happily next to his turbines lol...he would say that wouldn`t he because his job is on the line!!! LOL

  • I think he's insane, twisted and ignorant..

  • An 'Appalling intrusion' eh John? And like it should matter to you. You drove miles to get to them. How are they possibly an 'intrusion' to you?

That's like me saying 'There is pub 50 miles away that have bands on until 3am. That is so inconvenient'.

  • What an arrogant blowhard. He can't really be serious. Nuclear plants blow. Wind turbines are clean renewable energy. If you don't like big white turbines on your property, you could always paint them. It sounds like quite a fun project, actually :D.

  • Who is this arrogant guy anyway, some forgotten actor?

  • I wonder if a nuclear company paid him to speak his crazy talk. From those nuclear plants he gets radioactive waste and the threat of accidents causing cancer for generations after their radiation disasters. Wind turbines are a work of art in my eyes and I love the clean energy they provide. The ones in this video were impressive. I welcome them in my backyard.

  • Who really cares what this idiot thinks. He is just another old timer that is stuck in 1942. Its time to grow up and smell the roses. Eventually these old bastards will all die off and then the world will be able to move forward. I will say it again. Who gives a damn what this idiot thinks?

  • If only it were as simple as the old ways dying out with there creators. They teach there drivel to the next generation and it just never stops.
