  • Chinese folk songs of Mongolia ethnic group?

No sense to me! They are not mongolian ethnic group but they are either buryat or uigur. Respect them plz. I'm mongolian. And we never called 'em "our ethnic group". They have their own culture, they are not part of mongolia and they are not mongolian ethnic group.

And how come it is chinese folk songs?

  • Why it is chinese folk songs? because they are one of 56 ethnic in china. Chinese folk or culture not only means Han's culture but also combine other 55 culture of minorities. So we are proud of multiple ethnic and multiple culture. All of them are whole chinese culture. As the black guys lived in USA, american says that is one of american culture . No one says that is african culture. Your mind is too narrow.

  • They are Buryats, but sing Ewenk song.

  • MONGOLS?!

  • Oh?!I just noticed the instruments now,you right.Well...well.....ok,good point!Mongols?Really?!You sound like you really know your shiat. This is most refreshing. But the Ming were ethnic Han.The manchu were foreigners.Disaster was bound to happen because the people revolted & would not support a foreign government.japans invasion became more like a cure in some respects of eliminating the Qing so that we could return and rule as the original founders.

    *Bows while holding fist*

  • If you want to relive the glory of the Han race, Ming is not the dynasty to emulate.

China was at its greatest when classical Confucianism remained pure in its essence. From Song dynasty onward, neo-Confucianism (a corrupted form of Confucianism) took hold of Chinese psyche. Inter-personal relationship shifted from harmony to rigid hierarchy. Ming stagnated as the West underwent renaissance. Qing tried its best with neo-Confucianism, & had some success in the domestic front (more so than Ming).

  • But it remained oblivious to China's stagnation relative to the West. Just like Ming rulers, Qing rulers mistook stagnation with tradition. Even today, we can still see the vestige of neo-Confucianism among Chinese populace.

  • During Tang dynasty, Buddhism, Taoism, Zoroastrianism, Manichean, & Nestorian Christianity flourished.

From Ming dynasty onward, however, China has been closed to the outside world for so long, that when Chinese saw Christianity again, they considered it a novelty.

  • If the manchu had not taken over from the Ming Han, japan would not have invaded, together with other countries. They should never have ruled.

  • Given the pathetic combat performance of Ming army, despite superior firepower & number, I doubt they would have done any better against post-Meiji Japan & the West.

In an era when firearms were turning the tide of battle against nomads in favor of settled civilizations everywhere else, the gun-armed Ming actually lost its empire to the bows & arrows of Manchus. The Ming empire has brought nothing but shame to China.

  • Shame? Can u say "opium" ha?Manchu's weakened China so much that even japan,an island people, could invade us.That shame belongs that to manchu's alone which will last forever. If it wasn't for Nurhaci, who knows how the Ming wouldve handled the japs.Your explaination is too simple to make any sense. The combined Korea and Ming forces handled japan just find in the past,if you remember corectly. But now we, the Han rule, and we are coming back with a force of the likes you have never seen before

  • Ming lost Taiwan to the Dutch.

Ming lost to the numerically inferior, technologically backward Manchus. You think they got a better chance against the West & the post-reform Japan?

Have you even heard of Meiji reform? The Japan that Ming took on is not the same that Qing had to deal with.

So the Qing slacked off in its later years, but Ming never got it up in the first place.

  • BTW, these people aren't even Manchus, they're Mongols.

  • Yes Ming lost Taiwan to the Dutch but it was recaptured. And the Ming actually started to use matchlocks and other advanced weaponry in their armies and the reason why the Manchus passed the Shanhaiguan pass is because of insufficient troops. The Qing continued to use bows and arrows, spears and outdated firearms.

  • The Manchus passed Shanghaiguan because of Ming's general Wu sankui surrenderred without fighting, the reason being personal: his beloved woman was taken by rebel "Chuangwang- Li chizheng" and his opportunistic view of the end of Ming dynasty because of weak ruler and wide spread rebellions in China itself.

  • @ywintube That's still no excuse for defeat. Han Chinese outnumbered Manchus 200:1. The sheer number should have overwhelmed them. Compare that to China's performance during WWII, when IJA was stopped cold at Sichuan, despite having gained a foothold in Manchuria & along the coast, Ming was a disgrace.

  • @milvipes heard of domino effect and the will to fight? learn more on these pls.

  • sounds great!

  • I am sympathy about the extinction of Manchu language, culture and distinction. I am even more sad about the assimilation of Mongols in Inner Mongolia by Chinese. Hope Chinese government take actions to preserve our heritage. Manchu tamed Mongols in elegant ways, in return, the punishment is their own extinction. Luckily, Mongolia (Country) still exists. God bless Mongols and leave Mongols free of Chinese influence.

  • Since you posted the same message four times, I gather that you must really believe in what you typed. But unfortunately your assumption is wrong to begin with. The assimilation of Manchu culture into Chinese started long before the Manchu's took control of China and accelerated while they were still in power. The Qing emperors most notably QianLong did try to stop or slow down this process without any success.

This is a voluntary process, not a forced one.

  • I think they are saying Ho-li-dayy. I guess they'll happy they got the day off.

  • hahahhahahhahhahahhahahahahaaa

  • Those chicks look pretty good. Except for from left to right #1 did not look good but #2-5 look good, especially #4, then maybe #5, #2 and #3 is a toss up.

  • No Viagra needed for you then.

  • Did some research on the group: while they sing in various Siberian languages (both Tungusic & Mongolic), the artists are indeed Mongols.

  • Ewenke. they're part of the altaic family. their culture is almost similar to Mongolian..etc

  • It's not Mongolian, but Tungusic, specifically Evenki. Says so on the intro. Like Oroqens they too raise reindeers, supplemented by hunting, fishing, & gathering, the most primitive of the Altaic group.

  • If Climate change and China goes down under water, then which country on the earth will be above the water? Netther99 seems want all the human kind be wiped out -- including himself or herself.

  • Dam you are stupid. And even if it does, which it wont, you'll be dead for eons already.

  • Sounds shit

  • Sounds more Turkic than Mongolic.

  • Tungusic

  • It's NOT Mongolian. It's from an ethnic group called "Ewenke" in Chinese (not sure about English). They live in northeast China

  • I would say "Buryat", rather than " Ewenke".

  • wow i like this band, its unigue and way better than traditional tired folk music from outer mongolia that i get to hear all the time, good job.

  • hoh. hoh HOLIDAY

  • hoh. hoh HOLIDAY

  • Tell me!!

    It's such a beautiful language :O

  • This group is an inner Mongolian group and I can tell for sure that they represent hardly a mongolian singing group. almost 90% of the performance is somehow similiar with chinese culture, song and dressings. If you wanna see mongolian traditional dancing and music search this video, and then compare with this video, "dance from mongolia"

  • so good,i love one girl in the group, shes hot!

  • it si so .. great

  • coool...

  • i know what they are saying

  • So are you Manchurian?

  • Are you Manchurian? I am....there's so little of us left now :-( We don't even have anything left to ethnically represent us :-(

  • There is no Manchurians left?

    R U Kidding?!

There are like almost 10million of Manchurians in China.

You guys are like one of the biggest five in China.

  • That is at least what I feel...everytime somebod asks me what I am (cause Asians Can't figure out what I am) I tell them I'm Manchu, but they don't know what it is....I was born in America and My family fled Mainland China. So a lot of connections are lost. Only thing I know as of now is there are 2 crown princes; one in Japan and other in San Francisco...and the Crown Princess is in Japan with the Japanese royal family...

  • In northeastern China (Manchuria), and Beijing, there are a lot Manchu people. I have many friends who are Manchu (ya,because I'm from northeastern China), but I think normally we don't feel who is Manchu who is Han, we are all chinese. Is there still Crown Princess? I think the empire fell down nearly one century ago...why not let it go...
