I remember all the great epic roles that Mr. Heston portrayed, but the one that only he could portray was in the early 1990's when he portrayed United Airlines Capt. Al Haynes, commander of the ill fated DC-10 that crashed in Sioux City IA in 1989. Recalling the story, Capt. Haynes skill and calm manner guided his crippled jet to the airport, saving many lives. Heston brought the right stuff to the part. R.I.P. to an American ICON.

I totally agree! I met Mr. Heston and he signed my book at Book Soup in the early 90's. I will never forget the experience and his autobiography "In The Arena" is priceless!!

un grand acteur,certainement,puisque des gens comme OLIVIER,WELLES et BRANAGH l'estimaient au plus haut point,il suffit de le voir en player king dans HAMLET pour le constater:une présence une voix hors du commun!on ne peut que regretter que ses opinions politiques aient à ce point influençé ses choix,il aurait été encore plus grand!
