Buzzy is very alive and well in East Texas, working on his own CD... with more great news coming in the near future! Check his web site for more details and info!
is Big John O' Daniel still with the band? saw these cats several times. fuckin smokin back then and apparently nothing has changed. damn, would love to see them again. if anyone knows of an upcoming venue, let me know.
Johnny O is still in the band. They play occasionally in the DFW area and generally do a tour of Europe in the summer. If you're not aware, they released 2 new cd's in the last few years.
@JRGUITAR i grew up in Irving, hung out at a place called soccer city, a pool and foosball hall. John Roberts owned it, they frequented the place. thats where i met them. great bunch of guys, not even sure if they would remember me. if i remember right, Lone Wolf Productions who managed ZZ TOP was managing them too. I got back stage a few times when Point Blank was opening for ZZ. A great time to be alive...............
Guys like Burns and Doyle Bramhall blow me away. Both leftys, Burns plays a left handed guitar strung right handed, and Bramhall just plays the damn thing upside down....The guys are monsters. Saw burns about thirty years ago in Southpaw guitars in Bellaire Texas..but was simply too much a fan to even speak to the guy...He's just gotten better.....Thanks so much for posting this video!
brings back some great memories. saw these guys in Houston on there first tour,~1975-6. My brother played in the Fort Worth sceen in the late 60's with these cats and members of ZZ, at places like the Celler Door. His name was Bob Laws may he rest in peace, love ya bro!
Saw these guys about a half dozen times back in the early 80's in the Beaumont Texas area. Loved um... I'm screaming in the background of some live tracks they did in Beaumont. Now live in Georgia just north of Atlanta coming this way anytime soon?
@stratgm --send mw a message and give your name...I'm the guitar player...I remember the tour well...down to the road cases with Defender and Asteroids video games. I had a lot of fun on that tour. Nightmare had it all going then.
I notice you play with your strings set up for a right handed picker also. Did you have to share a guitar with someone early on. I have all your albums and now some cds. Also are you coming to the North Carolina anytime soon?
Yea, I play strung like Albert King and Otis Rush. Thanx for picking up the records...we do have a brand new record titled "Fight On". Don't know about playing in North Carolina yet...we tour Europe and Scandinavia every year and will be there in June.
Thanks for getting back to me. Just bought the new cd from amazon , can't wait to hear it. Good luck in Europe. I might have to road trip to Texas to see ya'll.

I saw these guys at Winterland in SF when they played second on the bill between Y&T and the headliner Boston. Y&T (then called Yesterday & Today) was smokin' hot and these guys with their blusey, laid back bar room style really brought the young, hip, rock n roll crowd down. Boston, of course, made them look like fools. Point Blank's overweight lead singer fell especially flat....he even resorted to gesturing for applause.
ive watched the video around 100 times, lol and i been watchin it since it first got here, i got to see the point blank reunion and i actually called phil and tried to tryout for drummer when they toured europe,., o well,. point blank and buddy whittington is still the shizznit,.
Peace, Rusty. From White Wolf of SC, formerly of Euless, TX back in 98 and 99! I used to come out with Rick and see you guys play live in that bar each week. I cant remember the name, but was in the next town over from Euless... Irving, maybe?
Hey Bubba!! Doin' great, thanks...hope you're off to a great new year! Take care and stay in touch! Buzzy
