I don't think Nick had any right to ask Taylor to back off, because he didn't even know who she was until she came back, and he has no idea of the relationship between Ridge and Taylor or how magical it was. All he's focussed on is defending Brooke.He would have no idea who Ridge loves more.

Nick did NOT hate Taylor at the start and anyway they LOVE each other now. Nick was under the impression from everything he was TOLD by everyone she was some flawless saint and mini Stephaine and he found that annoying. Nick is street smart and knows it's silly to put anyone on a pedestal in life. Taylor and Nick got to know each other after she was dumped by Ridge and the Borrester family that betrayed her. She got away from that image that Nick never bought into.

No, there is no doubt about that...
