  • had so much potential.

  • I admit Lzzy has a good voice, but they didn't do a great job on this song. It totally lacks the raw emotion of the original, IMO. Nobody can touch Eddie + Chris on this song, and even the guitars on this cover just sound uninspired, it lacks the heart and soul that the original is overflowing with

  • this is horrible.

  • Imo Lzzy Hale is the vocal equivalent of Sebastian Bach... just an amazing voice!

  • I gotta give her props for aiming high. But if the original is a 10, I give this a 6 or a 7. But some people _cough_MADONNA_cough do covers and its like a 3, so that's not bad.

  • not as good as the original - but kinda nice

  • like halestorm but you just don't cover a temple of the dog song chris cornell and eddie vedders voices are just not allowed to be covered as the two best singers of all time next to robert plant and bono...

  • you guys ruined such a good song.

  • I just threw up in my mouth a little bit... no one should touch this song, EVER! See you guys on the 'Where are they now' segment in a few years...

  • there are certain bands/songs that you just don't try to cover.. Chris Cornell's vocals are tough to do justice to in a cover song. Plus this version just lacks that dark emotional feel the song was written and recorded with.

  • haha

  • This is just wrong...

  • WTF is this?!

  • this is shit.. pure utter shit...

i'm tired of 105.7 the x here in harrisburg blowing these guys like they're the rock saviors.. they're a shit garage band...tons of better music out there...

  • @oppie1 do better.

  • I'm totally straight but i have a serious girl crush on her!! So much talent!!

  • Amazing cover of one of my all-time favorite songs!

  • loveee this song <3 great job lzzy! ive heard chris cornell do this countless times live, such a good song

  • Great job on the song cover.

  • Love Halstorm and i love this song but this unfortunately just cant compare to the original version

  • Wow... as soon as 1:00 instant tears

  • Comment removed

  • It's good. Obviously, it doesn't beat the original, but it's still very pretty.

  • I totally thought that Pearl Jam did this song

  • @ThankYouPain09 temple of the dog

  • @ThankYouPain09 Temple of the Dog is a colab between Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam) and the Lead singer of soundgarden, so your half right :D

  • @ThankYouPain09 It pretty much was Pearl Jam, since Temple of the Dog was comprised of everyone in Pearl Jam plus Chris Cornell.

  • I'm waiting for Eddie Hader to come in and be all 'Hurr, Heyy, Hurey. I've Gone Hungry Hurrhey!'

  • @ThankYouPain09 Vedder?

  • @nervosuu yes, thank you, lol.

  • Good job

  • not bad. personally, i like the temple of the dog version better, but she did it pretty good too

  • Sounds like the guitar is done in a different key, or tuning. I'm not a guitarist, this's just something I noticed by ear. Anyone else agree?

  • @bonnertom032 yhea it is in a different key, the orginial is in standard tuning, this cover is in standard with a capo on the 4th fret

  • I love halestorm - but this right here is BLASPHEMY

  • @motig79 This song is religious? o.O

  • @SomeCrazyBearRaper

in a metaphoric way :) the original is such a classic that to touch it and doing a bad job is .... do I really have to expalin ???:P

  • @motig79 I wouldn't call it a bad job, I'd call it different.

  • @SomeCrazyBearRaper

u'r right - not bad - but also not a good one - the world could live without it :)

  • @motig79 how so?

  • Very country, but nice enough.

  • sorry fellas but I aint feelin it....Love chris cornell and dont like this version...I have never liked halestorm though

  • She's very reminiscent of Pat Benatar! Her voice is amazing!! Very 80's rocker! I wish the radio stations would get it together and start promoting this band!!

  • Seriously, Lizzy could sing a song I hate and make me like it. Great song, great cover, great singer!

  • Eh, they should've covered "Say Hello To Heaven". Not bad, though.

  • her vocals give me goosebumps

  • I like this cover... It doesn't sound like the original, but I always thought that that was the point of a cover... Or is it weird of me to like a song that doesn't sound exactly like the original?

  • @SoretaYuki A cover is only good if it doesn't sound exactly like the original. If it's the same as the original, you might as well just be listening to the original. The only difference then is pretty much just a different singer.

  • @SoretaYuki no, thats a cover, if u cover it the same whats the point, temple of the dog is grunge, this is alternative metal, they changed it to their style of music, people obsessing over their love for a band and cant respect a different way of playing the song are just annoying, her voice is fucking amazing

  • Her voice is one of those that only comes once in a decade.

  • @a2fells i think its her singing skill that is awesome, its like she is born to sing :D

  • I enjoyed this song before I even realized that it was a cover. I finally heard temple of the dogs and I have to say this is much better. Especially coming from a female.

  • the way i look at it is it is hella good for a female vocalist

  • I never understand unwashed miscrents saying a cover is terrible when I band truly puts their own sound and style into the damn song...this is one of the better covers out there trust me go find some band that has no talent to harrass!

  • I like Halestorm (seen them a couple times live), but don't care for this cover.. It doesn't have that dark sound that makes this song great, seems too light hearted.

  • Already better than the original because it doesn't have Eddie Vedder. Chester and Chris doing it best version of it, this comes in second.

  • Go ahead lizzy your music covers are very good; You are the best woman singer of rock and roll bye.

  • i, personally, don't think it's that bad. A cover is just the band putting their touch on an original song. This was one of my favorite Temple of the Dog songs and i think it's just different hearing a female singing it, it adds a new flare to it. Yeah her voice wont be as gritty as Chris' was, but don't be so quick to judge.

  • I haven't heard a version of this song I didn't like this was my most looked forward to song on this album lyrical it is a great song yea the original will always have its top place but this is a close 2nd

  • jarraflies, the way Chris Cornell currently sings it...lol.. News Flash Temple of the Dog which had members of soundgarden "Chris Cornell" and pearl jam " Eddie Vedder" did this song before Linkin Park was anywhere around!

  • I dunno why people hate this version much, really. I like it, it's not nearly as good as the vocal combo of Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder in the original, but it's still pretty good, and definitely listenable, in my humble opinion, anyway.

  • This song is amazing when she sings it.. :D

  • This is AWESOME!!! :D

  • Goddamn this isnt that good. Between this version, Chester from Linkin Park, and the way Chris Cornell currently sings this song, its kind of like beating a dead dog.

  • I like this song, it reminds me of the Hunger Games :)

  • why did you all come here?? just to say how bad it is? I think it's great

  • I love this song, and i love the original. I know this is a cover but i feel like the two songs have completely different vibes, and both work in different ways. Its almost like they're two completely different songs.

  • I really don't like the original song, and I really don't like the cover. Both, in my opinion, are super boring songs. No offense to Temple of the Dog or Halestorm, which are otherwise good bands, but this just kinda sucks.

  • Have to agree. Just isn't doing it for me. There's no emotion. Her voice is too pretty for it. Oh well..Can still listen to the original.

  • Wow, this is pretty awful. Her vocals just dont work with this song. I thought the Linkin Park guy doing this in concert was pretty bad, but this is a whole new level.

  • id rather listen to my grandmother having explosive diarrhea than listen to this again.

  • @dmp78 I bet your grandmother would rather have explosive diarrhea then listen to this. I know I would.

  • @jbrown1169 i'd rather have explosive diarrhea

  • @dmp78 I busted up laughing when I read this. I agree %100. This cover is horrid, and I like Halestorm live...

  • @dmp78 no, that was painful for me +'C

but this just ain't gritty enough

  • this really blows.

  • Wow, this is terrible. Sound like some country/pop band doing a cover of a song that was done so perfectly the first time that there is no need for a cover. Seriously, a song performed by a super group with Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder on vocals, not to mention the talent of the band, and Halestorm thought they had something to offer with a cover?

  • this is shit.. halestorm is shit...

  • amazing as always

  • I love the song, but it's not gritty enough to compare to the original. Keep Rockin'.
