I don't see enough of a convenience factor in this invention. Maybe if the claw would include some kind of motorized rope and pulley system to make it easier to lift heavy items up to the ceiling, then they *might* have something worth 40 bucks. Otherwise, it's just a nifty toy for yuppies who want something trendy to show off in their fancy apartment that looks more sophisticated than a simple good old-fashioned hook.
There is already a solution that works for mostly: a hook. Yes, this is more convenient and easier but it can brake and the price tag is too high. There's no market for this.
This is not about quality, but about cost comparison. The hook looks nicer and clearly works better, but 10 times better? No way!!!!! My alternative would be making a longer hook.
This just shows how much fucking money is wasted on shit like interviews or market research and other fluff. The product wasn't that good to begin with yeah, they should've been out before they even advanced that far, but damn, hardly any money was spent on improving the product besides cosmetic changes. This damn Jetson-esque holder that will probably lose it's effectiveness after two years when a hook will last for ever, to those who'd want this get some perspective.
What hapends if you get there with your hand= you will hurt yourself bad. Why use a big expensive claw when you can use a cheap and easy hook and just hang it up
I went to school with the taller guy. He has been a true genius since I have known him. It didn't surprise me that he made it this far in life! Kudos to David Moeller!
ok the only thing that bothers me is the 2 wood screws holding a 500lb maximum weight hook. it should have a whole bracket mounted around the wood and be bolted down with no less than 4 bolts. but they did a great presentation
Genius, if you would have watched the little girl-she simply lifted the bicycle 2 or 3 inches and and tapping on the release mechanism. Give credit where it is due! They did a great job!
you would have to push the button for it to close again. otherwise, it sits there in the open position. yeah it would be an inconvenience if it was closed, but you would have inconvenienced yourself
your correct, but imagine you lean 4 bikes, and want to take out first one... but your again correct, because if you had 3 bikes, youd buy three of those stuff
yeah shit invention. At the end of the day, there may be loads of cyclists but not many of them care enough to go through the effort of installing this never mind paying for it. Some will but not many. Fail.
Seriously, i think this is a brilliant invention. Although the main use portrayed here is for bikes, it does seem very useful for other hanging objects as well.
They're smart people, and they know far more than you all do about it, so there's no point firing comments like "1 in 5 people... pfft, that's nothing".
Pretty much every person I know owns a bike. And all of them shove it on the side because they haven't got space to put it anywhere...
@connader 1 in 5 is a shitload of people and a shitload of money. And that's just the initial response...wait until the skeptics see how easy it is to use...then it will be 2 or 3 out of 5.
Why does she care how to install it? I don't hang my bike in the kitchen

ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS EPIC FAIL!!!!
Let me explain, or better yet ask a question.
What do I do when this is mounted and the claw is already closed?
Its convince is COMPLETELY gone and it is now an inconvenience. There is a reason we use a hook and NOT a claw
lilaznclucle 3 years ago
You push the button? It seems to me like it both opens and closes by just pushing the giant button on the middle...

kinda of dangerous, when that closes, and imagine it catches your hand, it can destroy the bone. and at same time a bicycle will fall into your head.
gareler 3 years ago 2
What, you think the claw somehow has magical force? It only has whatever power you put into it by nudging the little contact panel up...
There's no way it could break a bone. Maybe cause a tiny bruise, but that's about it.
