How do I know if the milk from the female has gone sour? And what are you feeding this pup? I have a pregnant female due in 2 weeks, she had belonged to a "friend(term used loosely) and when he found out she is pregnant he was going to get rid of her.Shes close to me due to me keeping her for months at a time. Im scared and any tips are appreciated. Your website is wonderful as you are too. Thank you very much.

I weigh the pups twice a day when the pups are born until they are 2 weeks old. From Birth to two weeks I know if the milk is going sour, when all the puppies are loosing weight and they are drinking. If I squeeze some milk out of the females nipples and it is a yellow colour, then I know it is going sour. I then buy goats milk and start to feed them with a bottle dropper or siring with out the needle on it.  Goats milk tastes like dogs milk.

i have 4 chihuahua that already born, the thing is that 2 days ago, the first chihuahua and the next 2 more died, so there was only one left to take care of it and im worried if the chihuahua dies easily. and that is bcuz the mother of the chihuahuas didnt give her babies milk. how can take care of her she's only 2 days old and she is really small so small and i dont even dont know how can she survive. would you help me?

Have you tried putting the pet bottle nipple on the end of a 3cc syringe? Works great for my pups.

@party12animal6 the chihuhua might have 4 or 5 chihuahuas, it depends how many can it fit to her tummy.

She did survive and is doing good in her new home in Yellow Knife, Canada. She weighs 3.4 lbs. full grown.
