It's been a long time since you posted this in 2008 (now 2012); but I must say that I really like your sound. I'm new to VSTi's and such, but I'm eating it up fast. Congratulations to you and your little bundle!
OMG I LOVE LOVE the sounds around 3:14 to like 3:45....that is amazing...if that is only coming from the SYNTH XT ....I GOTTA HAVE ONE>..never heard anything sound like that good ..........What were the settings at that time if you could tell me? Sweetwater says that product is unavailable ...so its gonna be hard to find one....I am new to this and want to know if you think its something i should have or not. ? anything cheaper or similiar i could use...thanks
@ZackISsLVA for one, this demo is of the v-synth, not the virus, but in any case i doubt anyone buys a virus just for that - it's just nice to have that option with the virus's sound engine. its supersaw (with its own detune function) plus the unison mode + detune makes it a good bit more flexible and massive sounding than just any other synth with a supersaw.
@robbieboo0 sorry, no fake playing here. never. just fyi, the sound is not coming from access virus but roland v-synth xt. the virus is just a midi controller here. thanks for watching.
@robbieboo0 I'm Dan Wray, I made that sample pack, This guys is not fake, I guess I cleared that up;-) Feel free to check out my soundset though guys. I dont know if he uses my patches or not but if not I have a volume 3 released next week;-) Cheers DW
Respond to this video... Can you please reupload this video you had a few years ago with this extremely catchy piano lead?(it was an electro-ish song with a nice bassline to it i simply loved it :) You probably know which one i'm talking about...
Does anyone else find it ironic that here we have the Ti Polar, and the V synth, two amazing modern synthesizers with deep synthesis engines, yet the highlight here is one waveform from an old VA?
Polar was introduced in 2006 with the original TI range. I'm pretty sure the original TI polar is worth at least about $1500. Which is kinda odd, considering the virus C desktop can be had for about $850.
i noticed when i play my sh 201on high notes in the supersaw it makes a disgusting noise is this something that happens with yours , is there any way around this and what is making up that patch as i have a sh 201 which is meant to have similar sounds . i cant seem to get it sounding as rich , would you be able to comment on this harsh digital problem that sems to be associated with these new roland synths ?

yeah, it's vm3100 pro, very cool mixer... sorry for late response, i think i replied you on myspace though... i sold it to L00m33r, he may wanna sell it to you if you make him an good offer... ;-) (they are all over the eBay anyway)
I love these 2 pieces! I just have the Virus Classic but wouldn't trade or sell it 'cause it's just such a playground. Have to make do with an SH-32 for "real" Roland supersaw (PCM but damn good). Keep posting! Cheers...
yes. The TI is awesome in it's own right though. It looks like your using your V-Synth as the sound module. Is this true? I wish they would have made independent filters (that you could also link to the 3 lfos) for each oscillator. That would make the new virus almost perfect.
wow..it's awesome you have both, here's a question...i hear the virus is darker and the vsynth sounds brighter, Can you darken the vsynth supersaw to replicate the virus ?, if you could only afford one which would you get ?, I'm all softsynth but still on the fence about blowing that kind of money for hardware, thanks !
I know man but this dude has got (and im making and educated guess on this) over 15 stackz on that set up hes got. And hes not signed with anyone?!
i mean i would like to be able to save some money up for some of that stuff but im only 19 and im in school full-time. Its kinda hard to do at this point. So I guess Im stuck with my shitty set up until I get a good position as a stock broker in 6 years.....hhahahahahaaha
HAHAHA!!!! Yea you understand my pain then!!!! hahaha
and hang in there brother, you dont wanna grow old too too quick now. Stick to that FL/Reason and a good old MIDI controller until we can get this kind of stuff.
i didn't buy it all at once! :-) i bought it like in two or three years... if you love music you don't need to be signed or crazy to spend money on equipment...
it's desktop/tabletop/module/rack synthesizer roland v-synth xt and it's BIG color touch lcd... to be honest, it doesn't work that well and knobs/buttons would be much more handy... oh well...
i would say that roland sounds more clear (not to much overtones in the complex chords) so it's better for pads and long release sounds. hypersaw, to me, sounds "harsh" and "dirty" and i even tried to program that beautiful supersaw pad. i came very close, but it sounded different... when you are used to roland's supersaw oscillator, you would know what i mean...
I don't think that would be wise. Its pure ultracheesy awesomeness could rip our dimension apart or cause a distortion in time and space. The Universe would collapse, because that would be so orgasmic.
that thing sounds amazing. i would kill for a v synth.

Who the fuck buys an access Virus to play supersaws when you can play them on basically any synth on the market today.

i would say that roland sounds more clear (not to much overtones in the complex chords) so it's better for pads and long release sounds. hypersaw, to me, sounds "harsh" and "dirty" and i even tried to program that beautiful supersaw pad. i came very close, but it sounded different... when you are used to roland's supersaw oscillator, you would know what i mean...
