TURMA - Thrash / Heavy Metal Band from Italy - Hi there - take a look at our first album "Tearless" - on our youtube page: turmaofficial - the Album have been recorded with Engl e530 + mesa 90/90 and mesa cabinet 4x12 in our studio, with cubase
I really appreciate this demo. You did some shred, some chug, and you have the tone I'm looking for! Glad I ran across this one. Keep playing, friend!
Tried this one yesterday and I got to tell you, this video doesn't even come close to show how awesome it sounds in real. My signal chain was rg1527 w/ blaze bridge->E530->Yamaha 1*12 cabinet. This is great stuff.
Would you prefer thispreamp sound over the triaxis instead? I have the mark IV and Im looking for the periphery's sound, bulb. their guitarrist uploaded some videos playing the invader and it sounds the same as the album. Im tired of mesa boogie, Ive had all the models and now Im looking for somethin different.
Is the direct recording output good? Im planning to conect it to the loop on the mesa Boogie mark IV. Could I get the same sound as periphery on the song the walk? they used engl invaders!
@ivansandoval777 This sounds very different to Engl Invaders, which by the way I'm fairly sure Periphery didn't use for their album - I think they used Axe FX. I never used this to record direct so I can't answer your question, sorry!
HI, I am very interested on buy the e530, but in my city theres no place who have in stock, so I need to pay for it before even try it, can you help me let it me knowif this unit have enough balls to play new metal? I saw playing KSE, do you think this preamp do the trick for that kind of sounds? thanks in advance
great playing man . i really like this preamp and am seriously considering getting one! a few questions though. what voltages does this preamp work at and are they specific to the country i purchase it in? also what exactly does the instrument output do in this unit? also the manual says to use a stereo plug to connect to a guitar cabinet or else i may destroy it. can u elaborate on that a little bit? i know these are a lot of questions but any help would be great. thanks!
Have you even heard Primal Fear that band ? the guitarist said that he was use Engl E530.. but i want wonder does e530 can really sounds like that crazy ??
@Gyro911 This preamp has a built-in 1.5w poweramp, which will get you loud enough to generally jam, etc, but you wouldn't get loud enough to compete with a drummer, though you may get away with playing like through a full PA, depending on the size of the venue you're playing (i.e, small venue)
Define loud enough.. I mean, you can stick a mic in front of anything and record it, that's not a problem, but the built-in poweramp won't get any air moving in a regular cab, no. recording would work better through a poweramp
Well you can just use it as I am here, yeah.. but you're gonna want to pair it with a poweramp which will probably also be rackmountable, so it'd be nice to have both things in a single case!
Well I can't be sure of how loud you'll be wanting to play at home, but this is pretty loud for what it is. You'll be close to shouting to be heard clearly over it. YMMV, but through a 4x12 I'd definitely say it's loud enough for home practicing
One of the more accurate sounding demos of the 530.
Most other demos are overly compressed or equalized to the point where it isn't really even a demo of the actual product, just a processed sound with remnants of the original sound.
yeah totally awesome man. it's amazing at how good the built in power amps sound at low volumes. I love how I don't need a boost at all with this preamp. The gain already has that punch!
@13thNemesis The cab doesn't have a line in, it's just a regular mono/stereo cab. I'm using the cab at 8ohms, although it doesn't specify what ohmage is best to be used. There's a switch on the back of the e530 that changes the headphones out to a speaker out, which activates the 1.5w preamp.
DAMN!!! O.o sounds badass!

@ivansandoval777 buy an invader and a orange cabinet, and then you got your periphery sound...

could you imagine putting a head on that cab and then running a bbe sonic maximizer through that? you'd melt your neighbors faces off

Nice video. I am thinking about buying one of these to put with an ENGL 840/50 poweramp. How do these rack settle compare to the sound of a head?

do you just plug it in like any head?

Do you need to put this through a power amp before the cabinet to get it to amplify?

sorry but the cable that you attack at the guitar cab is stereo or mono?
88Infernus88 1 year ago
@88Infernus88 Between the preamp and the cab is a regular speaker jack, from the Engl headphone jack into the cab's input (8ohm)

do you need to put this into a rack or something or can you just use it, lying on the cabinet?

Great sound, good playing!..
Btw: how does the E530 provide so much power with the small 2x1.5W built in PA?
:S..
Please explain it to me..
Thank you!
13thNemesis 2 years ago
@13thNemesis I can't explain it! It's not massively loud, but through a 4x12 it's as useable as, say, a 15watt Roland Cube.
epicswifty 2 years ago
Does the cab have an line-in?..
And you used the stereo line-out(headphones) and plugged it into the line-in of the cab or some other way?..
