Nohemanoib - Advertising for Horizon in the response section of a video titled "Do Not Buy a Horizon Treadmill"? I can think of no place stupider to do this. I am going to trust that you have never taken a marketing class in your life, and that you have a severe overbite.
Actually, after 6 months they had to replace the motor... twice. Bit judgemental, don't you think? Taking treadmill reveiws a little too seriously? In tribute to you, I will try to decifer what HDGFX stands for:
Had Dangerous Gonorrhea From seX (alternate: Hey, Don't Get Frequently seX); Hit Da Ganja For weeX; High Doses of Generally Foul eXcrament
Mine CT5.3 made a lot of noise after lubricating the belt, However it was a question of adjusting the belt. They tell you to lubricate the belt before first use but this upsets the factory adjustments already made to the belt. Besides this I am happy with mine.
This is why you buy from a locally owned retailer. We sell the same T101 at $599 but there are a couple differences between local and the online gamble. We deliver and set it up for free, do extended service for free and if this was the case with one of our units, we would be out the next day with a replacement. All that without ever having to worry about calling or being on hold with the manufacturer. Horizon does a GREAT job in our opinion but bad experiences do happen.
I just called Horizon there is customer service and other stuff and there is real people to talk to. maybe they are just tiered of hearing your voice.
I gotta say my experience with Horizon seems to be the polar opposite to most.I have a 8yr old TSC5 ,7yrs ago my kids broke the incline motor so I stopped using it.Started using treadmill again this year and blew lower board.Called Horz.Ft. they replaced incl.mtr.under warrany and sent out new board ($189).arrived 3 days later (in Canada)up running next day.Something must have changed in the last year,I've NEVER had service this awsome!Sorry about your bad experience, that really sucks.
We’re very sorry thpjhr2 had this disappointing experience with Horizon Fitness (North America). Thank you all for your feedback. We certainly take what our customers say seriously and continually focus on increasing not only the quality of our products and shipping efficiency, but also our operations. In the past six months, we have made several improvements to our customer service experience, including hiring additional staff and providing extended business hours from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. CST.
I called Horizon at least half a dozen times with the same response you got, this for a 6-year-old treadmill. However, FWIW, they DO respond to e-mail, and very helpfully believe it or not. I got several lengthy responses as we narrowed down the problem, which we though was the motor control board ($192). That wasn't it so I returned it without a problem, but I'm still left with a non-functional machine. Reaching them by phone, though, is absolutely hopeless.
Thank you for sharing. I went today and tried out the horizon t4000. It was a very good treadmill. I'm a heavy guy but it didn't shake even a bit when I was running on it. Very quite and smooth. Your treadmill must have gotten damaged in transit. I can't think of anything else. Sorry mate. Bad luck. I hope everything gets fixed for you
I bought a T100 Treadmill and so far it sucks. Hard to put together. The screws don't fit the machine. And, it has not worked since I got it. Safety key is in place and still nothing. The zeros are indicating on the console, but it still has not come on.... no movement. I want my money back!
Forget the 800 number. Try calling the office of the President of Horizon, Bob Whip at 608-839-3486. And/or send him a certified letter stated that they have not honored their warranty and your intention to take legal action (which you should actually do) and mail it to him at 1620 Landmark Drive, Cottage Grove, WI 53527. Other executives to call are: Bill Sotis Executive Vice President of Sales, Clint Myers Vice President of Product & Engineering, Mike Olson Vice President of Marketing.

Wow. This guy I feel his anguish, but it is unfounded. There is only certain things that can be controlled, & shipping is not one of them. By the way. Did you pay for any shipping costs? I have found using a company that has a fee for their shipping, is more reliable. The store should of just swapped it out. If you moved it. You could of damaged it yourself .
or maybe it's their busy season and they will get back to u ace. i have one and it was damaged when i opened it. not their fault, they can't control when someone drops it or whatever. and it took me a while to get through to them, but once i did i understood why. they woman said from dec to march is busy cause everyone is inside using new machines and have programing questions, need manuals, or lubricant etc. people today are so quick to judge companies and slam them.
Let's see... took one week to buy the treadmill... four and a half to fix it.... I am understanding, but for hundreds of dollars, why should I be? If they have bad service, maybe they should correct it rather than forcing me to be understanding... ace
@myers102 I have to totaly agree with thpjhr2. I am assuming you purchased it for $599 and thats a great price for a treadmill like this, it's too bad but the truth is nobody selling low end machines can give you good service in January.. It's the whole industry. thpjhr2 is also correct about the shipping problems, Horizon can't be blamed for shipping damage. Your motor noise is an easy fix, there is a metal disc scraping your speed sensor, just needs a little adjustment.
did they ever get back to you ....I bought one and had some broken stuff on it....I had problems contacting them but they did get back to me and claim they are sending me some new parts.....just wondering if I shoul dbe worried
@thpjhr2 You are right about Horizon and all other cheaper treadmills. When it comes to treadmills you have to invest quite a bit to get quality. Quality is not the only thing. You have to get a lifetime warranty on all parts and at least 5 years labor. The treadmill has to be fit for commercial use. That said you will need to pay at least $2,000 U.S. up to $6,000 U.S. The best treadmills I have found are Sole F85, Smooth 9.65 LC, True Z5, and Lifefitness Club Series.
I just called Horizon and talked to customer service tech in 30 seconds and I don't even own a Horizon treadmill, but will be buying one this week.

all the reviews say it's a good buy - only a few bad reviews. if you dont like them, what would you recommend? especially at a similar price point?

We were told by several customers that the service is out sourced. We never experienced that but there is definitely a long hold.
