  • I am shocked at my own reaction :) I expected NOT to like it at all, but, to my great surprise, I found it very moving, even if in a peculiar way. Regarding the "strange" tempos, I am not surprised at all. After all Gould goal has never been to be faithful to the original, but rather to find a "new look" at everything he plays.

  • The other posters are right, Gould throws away what may be Beethoven's most beautiful solo piano passage by just demolishing the tempo at the 9 min mark

  • fifth var. too(too, too, too...) fast

    it says "etero"...

  • poor man, he was totally insane....

  • Rubato is giving me motion sickness...

  • Holy crap, warp speed at 8:55. The G forces are killing me!

  • Thanks for uploading!

  • This interpretation differs more from the others I've heard than any other. Some things he does better also than any other that I've heard. And then just when something particularly special begins to happen there is that horrible singing. The only thing I can think of it to compare it to is Yoko Ono's sudden jarring intrusions into the Beatles recordings...
