Bad bad method. Be warned. All it can do is cover the scratches from being visible. If scratches are significant enough that files cannot be properly read then the disc is still damaged. If you're trying to sell a disc after this with scratches covered up it would be fraudulent.

OK PEOPLE HERE IS THE REAL WAY.... you get some toothpaste i prefer Colgate (NON GEL. GEL WILL MESS UP YOUR DISC) then put some on a paper towel then gently wipe it on from the center out.. repeat this step till the whole disc is covered. then wait for 5 min then get some rubbing alcohol or water( doesn't matter) then clean it off. then give it a try :D if it doesn't work pm me exactly what you did... hope this helped. :D

Ok listen up, i love to play GTA San Andreas and one day my little brother who is 3 years old took it and wrecked it, it had so many scratches so i looked on youtube to find a good method to save and i tried this and reallt, it DOES work. Thats what I said when my 360 game was scratched up and wasnt working. Til I tried it and boom, good as new, and it was fully functional again and has been since.

Trust me, im one of those guys that has the biggest precautionary fear ever when it comes to actually doing something I hear about.

Worked great for me! One thing to know though for you guys who haven't had luck is that you have to use tooth PASTE... not GEL, and not a tooth paste that has any little "breath crystals" crap in it, as they will further scratch the disc. Also, this will not visually remove the scratches, you'll still see them, but they should be coated over so that the disc will now play smoothly.
