  • love it!

  • Best thing I've seen and heard all day.

  • was digging Margin Walker then suddenly Waiting Room! Double digging it.

  • genius! please play live as Fugazi again.......

  • what a pleasant suprise, waiting room thrown on the end.

  • Damn i live in Finland i should have been there.

  • Fugazi may not have sold out, 2:38 but Guy should release a "Move like Me" keep fit DVD, he would make a mint.

  • why does'nt everyone stop analyzing them and fucking listen to their genius... i have only listened to them for like 15 minutes now and think they are awesome.... somtimes poeple are like a bunch of fucking monkeys battling about the number of bananas they have ( bananas being opinions and intellect ) that is a really stupid comparison i just made and so is judging them so ... just listen and enjoy lol !

  • fugazi were fucking genius!! amazing band. I shall love them forever.

  • Guy is, and will always be, the Man.

  • thanks for putting this up

    fantastic

  • This just doesn't sound good, only Guy sounds decent. Looks good though.

If you didn't know what they were singing about they would sound below average.

  • Best song ever.

  • the hell happened to the phrase rock'n'roll music, i mean really "punk, hardcore, post-, emo, grunge, indie, lofi"

for fucks sake its music, fucking music

  • @reductobeam Yer right, as any real music fan is aware there are way too many trollers on You Tube trying to pin their genre tag onto stuff to prove they're a the heart of the 'true' scene...such bollocks! I prefer nu-skiffle myself.

  • @spuffchops70 post-skiffle folkcore

  • @1dotonly Good ole fashioned rock 'n' roll. Although occasionally dabbling with nu-mathjive.

  • @spuffchops70 did you just say mathjive?

  • @godrodemyscooter Yup. It's the new underground genre being touted by 'the kids', who are 'in the know'. It's a crossbreed between 'math rock' and a 'hand jive', so my sources inform me.

  • @reductobeam I need a concise term that describes the small niche of bands I like. That way, I have a single term that explains how I dress, think, and act. Rock and Roll is now too broad a term for the tiny little compartment I want to put myself in.

  • take note: these are real rockers.

  • Live is better always with Fugazi!

  • @JordenBarry god you're so right. its a shame i only have the albums and videos like this. too young to have seen em, ya know. hey pimpu64, you should add to the video description that it also has waiting room, you'll get more views

  • it was coined emocore

  • emos just overall girl music without the entertaining political crypticism

straight edge is just getting fucked up in the head if you ask me

  • har har har rockin

  • I always thought they had the best timing ever 2:46

    Solid

  • love it, love it, love it!!!!!

  • @redbellyboy . I am with you there. Fugazi are one of the best punk bands of all time.

  • should also be on the curriculum

    (with G of 4 Anthrax)

  • Awesome beyond words.

  • yaa!

  • Anchower.....it is "a love song"

  • I prefer your mother, thanks

  • AMAZING!!! Thanks for sharing!

  • Glorious!

  • My favorite Fugazi song. Well, either this or Provisional. Guy is God. Wish they'd get back together.

  • Informate antes dabrir la boca

  • ASFDSGFDFSSASDASDA!!! Que mierda paren de encasillar a las bandas, sobretodo a fugazi.

  • Get informed before opening the mouth

  • Ian doesn't look like a guitar player at all, but he's pretty damn good.

  • I used to wonder if this song had something to do with the assassination of JFK or any that were murdered in the 1960's. The words conjure up the loner persona of Oswald and that makes the song amazing for when it was released prior to Oliver Stones' film.

  • That's what the words want you to believe so they can keep you from the truth. Any EDUCATED person can see that MArtin Luther King had Kennedy assassinated so that his illegitimate son, OBAMA could become president. Pull the wool from your eyes!!!

  • Kennedy was killed for trying to abolish the Federal Reserve. check excutive order 11110.

  • you shut your whore mouth

  • Jeffo you're the shit. you knows the truth mate +1

  • WTF, how did we get here?

  • I always thought this was a love song. Seriously.

  • ____

    loser

  • Don't call my fuckin' house! Sumamabitch!

  • LOL people who gave you thumbs down obviously didn't listen to the prank call. Classic, man.

  • end hits the argument and instrument are the best

  • Nope. Repeater and 13 Songs.

  • I'm a fan of Repeater and Red Medicine. 13 songs is good too though.

  • In on the Killtaker is my favorite with The Argument being a close second. (I think because In On The Killtaker was my first Fugazi album). I dig them all but I'd like to listen to Red Medicine again.

  • I can't find Red Medicine anywhere. I'm going to have to order it online. The first tie I herad Fugazi was when The Chili Peppers did a cover of The Latest Disgrace before Parallel Universe. But The first album I bought was Repeater.

  • You can order it directly through Dischord Records. It's probably cheaper that way.

  • Yeah I figured. That's what I'll do man. Thanks for the info.

  • No love for Steady Diet?

  • Steady Diet is my least favorite for some reason. Still a great album though.

  • Love it. Stacks is among my favorite of all their songs. Got to hear it live too. Saw them 3 times :-)

  • In on the Kill Taker and Repeater are may favorites, but then again, I never heard a Fugazi album I didn't like....

  • nobody debate. fugazi reign(ed)(s) supreme!

  • I love the business practices and the whole story about Fugazi, and the members are all awesome. I've never wanted to like band more but I just can't bring myself to like Fugazi's music at all. It just sounds so bland to me, I really wish it didn't but it does. :(

  • Just some background:When FUGAZI first started playing shows in d.c. back in 87 it was really funny because everyone who ever was into in the d.c hardcore scene back then thought it was this strange avant garde sound. Really. It was sort of revolutionary for all of us use to listening to the same standard for the past 4 years. But it was such a natural transition that being at one of their early shows was just amazing. Everyone was so into it.

But it's cool you don't dig it. To each his own...

  • I kinda know what you mean. I really want to love Fugazi but I don't love them. I do love a bunch of their songs, but I certainly wouldn't say that they're my favorite band. They are awesome though

  • Cool that you get what they are about though.

Personally, I grew up on this stuff and I love it, I would describe it as "minimalist" rather than bland, just my opinion. \m/

  • Listen to End Hits and The Argument.

I know where you're coming from; their earlier stuff is too reliant on octave-chord blaring and I doubt I would listen to it if it weren't Fugazi. It took me a while to get into them. But songs like Strangelight, Break, Closed Captioned, The Kill... completely different world.

  • You're actually right, they are pretty good, I was just listening to the wrong stuff.

  • i feel the same way about husker du. you cant force yourself to like every band

  • are they still playing?

  • no...not since 2002. on "hiatus".

  • Fuck Ya !!!!

  • best song EVER (well... my favourite anyway)

  • i'm with ya

  • dickhead! not emo! looser

  • Wow sarcasm is totaly lost on you.

  • yes fucking gawd.

  • holy diver

  • This is a 2000 video. Cameras were pretty good 8 years ago, don't forget that. Anyway, Fugazi rocks. Older stuff much better thoguh.

  • fugazi rocks. nice footage dude!

  • Yeah, nice footage! What kind of camera do you have?

  • hey just wondering r these guys vegeterians since straight edge at the beginning was only meant for sex, drugs and alcohol

  • guy is vegetarian.

  • theyre all vegan or veggie, forget which..

  • they hate the term "straight edge" almost as the term "emo"

  • but you have no problem with the term "hate"? that's just.. scary.

  • @emptyheadbrokenbones

I find the former hard to believe, Ian McKaye wrote the song "Straight Edge" and promoted the lifestyle

  • @alastairmctavish He hated what it became. That song really launched the lifestyle into the spotlight and then it ironically turned into a consumer product. MacKaye might still be Straight Edge, but he certainly never refers to himself as that.

  • the musical commentary on the punk culture that was later picked up as "sxe" was ment for anything and everything, it was comment on how things get out of hand and dominate to the point of it being abuseive and destructive , the three most direct examples where the destructive sex, drugs and alcohol abuse that had become a cultural norm. it was not ment as a cut and clear drawing of lines but in a context of individuals and cultural norms. sadly sxe became a conviction for many, not a philosophy

  • Yeah it's all taken too literally. I drink and do a couple of other drugs sometimes, but I'm pretty teetotal most of the time, and when I do do any sort of drug I don't abuse it, the vast majority of the time at least.

The philosophy of straight edge is spot on, it's all about self respect, positivity and being productive and not wasting your life.

  • WHAT!!?

    Don't insult Ian like that!

    Dio...honestly

  • Guy is more like Iggy minus drugs. Ian can be Rony James Dio.

  • How did you get your video quality to be so good on here ? Resizing and stuff ?

  • Wow ! This is unbelievably good Fugazi footage ! Great job ! As good as mine, if not way better !

  • why does guy always look like a badass when he sings this song!

  • Do they still tour?

  • NO they dont

  • how great can a band be?

  • any chance to upload this gig entirely??

  • saw them in vancouver canada in the late 80's.playing on stage while we all were riding the skatepark behind the crowd!!!

  • glorious

  • who cares? they still rock. i hope they play until they're 70. hah.

  • ian mackaye can be iggy minus drugs. that would be pry boss

  • These guys gotta be in their 40´s now+

  • so's steve albini. and he still blew me away with a recent Shellac gig.

  • yeeeeeeeesssssssss

  • absolute slammin' version

  • fuckin'a!
