Misty was AWESOME, until the stupid writers gave her basically NOTHING TO DO in Johto (except the Whirl Cup, that was awesome). May wasn't so bad either, at least they gave her Contests and gave her some personality (a clueless beginner who didn't even like Pokemon when she started out).

Dawn ... I dunno, she never appealed to me. She seemed like a combination of May's and Misty's best character traits, which made her come across as a bit Sue-ish ...
