for everyone who wants the project, here is how i think he made it:

ground - 3d layer with fractal noise

landscape + sky - somekind of skydome, skybox, trapcode horizon etc.

orbs - particular: two animated lights used for emitter position. from what i can tell its a two part effect. one for the big sphere and a short size declining trace, and one for the long multi thread trace.

snow - pretty basic particular effect.

Then just adjust some colors and glows and youre done :)

not enough wind on the snow particles, and 0 wind on the trail orbs are leaving behind. looks weird with the trail just hanging in the air while the camera is rushing forward. other than that it looks great :)
