There is Demo version, but there is no complete free version. Anything that is rendered through the demo version will have the EffectsLab Pro logo all over it; so it works to try the program, but basically you'd want to get the real version eventually (which is payed for).
I don't know if he was intentionally supposed to have Sideways's colors, but they do kind of look like his. Actually the figure I used is a new mold, just based off of the same design. It was released in the "Hunt for the Decepticons" line under the name "Sidearm Sideswipe"; personally I prefer it to the original mold.
Well, allot of programs were used altogether, but the main ones were "Roxio Creator 2011" (for the overall video editing) and "Effects Lab Pro" (for visual effect editing).
The logo is there in the demo version if you were to buy the real version you wouldn't have that problem. Have you experimented with the program allot? It's a good program, but I would recommend messing with the demo allot to see if it's the right effects program for you.
I used a program called Effects Lab Pro to do that along with the rest of the effects. I actually would have preferred really burning a double of the figure, but he probably would have been too melted by like the third frame, lol.
I used Revenge of the Fallen: Long Haul and Hunt for the Decepticons: Sidearm Sideswipe. I doubt you'll be able to find the figures in stores anymore; but I think a blue and yellow repaint of Sidearm Sideswipe was recently released.
Nice work man looks great....I subbed and viewed your stuff would you check out my channel and sub me back? watch GRIMS toy show episode 5 for an awesome stop motion animation of the nWo destroying my toy room!
To some extent it was kind of hard. The shooting (filming) was actually the easy part for me, I can't stand doing the visual effects/video editing. It makes everything allot easier though when you don't cram getting everything done in one day. I set a time to work on this one each day and timeline of when to have it done. Also since I thought ahead to what work I was going to be doing it wasn't so bad. Never the less video editing is a pain in the neck for me.
I use Roxio Creator 2011 for general video editing, Effects Lab Pro for visual effects, and Total Recorder for sound effects. They're all very good programs and worth trying.
There are free trials/demos for each of them, but none are free, sorry. I think you could still use a trial version/unregistered version of Total Recorder to get sound effects. The difference from the full version is that you'll hear a beep every minute of recording. Considering typical sound effects aren't that long I think it would work fine.
No, it's not like that; if you record something 1 minute or longer you will hear a noise (more like static) briefly at every minute. I'll try to find somewhere you could get a free trial for it.
I used a program called Effects Lab Pro. It probably isn't the most "top notch", professional program, but if you learn how to work with it it can be an excellent one to use to make effects. If you're getting serious about making stop motion videos, I would recommend trying the trial version of it.
When I had used it, the trial version (well it's actually called a demo version) it was free; but it looks like the site and products has kind of changed things since then, but I think they should still have a free one for whatever their new program is.
Dude this was totally awesome, I think it was your best. I'm fav. this. Sideswipe was soooo cool with his blasters and dodging all those sword attack. very well done!!!!
Must say though, I can see the room through the set sometimes, which can be distracting. I think what may help the idea that these are supposed to be giant robots would be low-angle shots, giving the illusion of immense size.
Ya, I noticed that I could see the room. I had meant to fix it, but by the time I had remembered it was pretty far into editing and would cause allot of backtracking, next SM I'll plan to elminate anything like that. I've thought about the size thing before, but personally I'm fine with it for the type of SM's I do. Thanks for the comment!
So what did you use for the explosian and fire effects

A program called "Effects Lab Pro". It takes some time to get used to, but I really like and highly recommend it.
