  • what is the reason to buy paper dictionary nowadays? what is your opinion about that?

  • @tavit111 Books are always more reliable than computers. I can read a dictionary while sleeping under the stars, in the forest, with the Bedouins in the desert, and even in an airplane ride. Computers need electricity, and maintenance. Dictionaries just need to be opened. Plus you gotta love that book smell, mmmmmmmmm

  • A metalhead that likes languages. Just like me !

  • Langenscheidts Praktischer Sprachlehrgang ist auch sehr gut.

  • Those particular Living Language courses are garbage but they are for people who are just dabbling for a trip and not learning for real. I think you would change your mind if you saw the other courses that they offer like Spoken World series. Not many languages in it but it is really awesome; ask Moses, he'll tell you! I have one in Hindi and it is really good! The other courses are better and come with a fairly large coursebook and 8 CDs. You really should go to their site and check 'em out.

  • He has a nice american accent.

  • hey great video .

so i want to know how many languages do you speak?? , i just speak german perfect , i think i'm a good englishspeaker and also good in french and spanish

  • is the hair real ? lol

  • I agree, the Living Language Series is horrible. The only thing they're good for is phrases. Like their page-a-day language calendars, those are good, but the books are horrible.

  • @Polyglot1990 I have found that Living Language's "Ultimate" series is pretty good though. Its the rest of their stuff that is horrible. Just FYI.

  • Hi!

    How are you?

Thanks for the videos about 'How to begin to learn a language'. I agree with you, the Colloquial books and audios are really excellent for language learning!

By the way! I'm from Brazil!

  • @Merijewwana I downloaded some Michel Thomas stuff off bittorrent to start off my language learning, he was a really good booster and it got me hooked on learning more, once I got some more money I bought some teach yourself books and looked on the internet for more info.

  • pimsleur is so good

  • I have absolutely no money or ways of acquiring money. I also have no means of transportation so I cannot go to a library. How do I do this with only the internet and no money?

  • @Merijewana not sure, that would be difficult, and it also depends on what language you are learning.

  • Just wanted to point out that you have the Complete living language courses which are kind of crappy. The Ultimate LL series are EXCELLENT!!! Haven't checked out their Spoken World series yet. Just stay away from the Complete series!

  • Children of Bodom!!!!! Good advice. Would you reccomend anything for people that are never at the house? Work, school, parties ect. lol

  • @1andonlyeva Try to listen to audio of that language as much as you can while on the go!!

  • Pimsleur is great on the go! Michel Thomas too.

  • @jmichaelrout Thanks man, but those are a bit out of my budget right now XD.

  • @1andonlyeva Pimsleur and MT from the Library. =) Every library I've been to has them as well as many other good learning materials. Guess it probably depends on the library though.

  • I like very much the idea of learning languages by oneself. I think it's kind of personal thing. Languages schools can be useful, but in my view they tend to "idiotize" people. The best thing that can happen to a a learner is to become autonomous.

  • @OscarP282 Also, I think schools worry to much about grammar and vocabulary, and they focus on how they can test the students more than how they can actually communicate in the language.

  • @Codylangaugesblog I've never been to a real language school but I have English as a school subject for nine years now and it was exactly what you said: You spend most of the time learning Latin and if you know all the Grammar they start teach you special vocabulary on different topics like economy, ecology or social problems. But you never learn how to get new bedding in a hotel or how you order food in a restaurant. That's wierd.

  • TY is ok, but I like Assimil better. Its much more systematic in my opinion but to each his own.

  • Language learning is kind of like Thomas Edison's definition of genius: "one per cent inspiration and ninety-nine per cent perspiration."
