Just got back walking a trail where they released 200 timberwood rattlers and hoped I didn't run into one. That was one of the biggest rattlers I've ever seen on this video. They belong here just like we do, though.
This snake was probably trying to feed on those rare snails, he got fat and then got stuck. Good thing you people were there to rescue him. I also want to thank you for releasing one of the most poisonous snakes back into the river where my kids and hundreds more float all summer long. The only good rattler is a dead one. Thanks bunches!
@bredust18 Rattlers are not 'poisonous', they are venomous. And, they control 90% of the rodent population. Rodent disease i.e. tularemia would have long ago killed your kids if not you already. (How long do I have to educate these dumbasses before someone else takes over?)
@bredust18 your kids and yourself need to realise they were there first and its there home, you can kill one in your yard? they can kill you in theres. you need to watch out out there. not them
@bredust18 you really don't understand do you. First off he was way too big to eat the snails, it would have been a waste of time and energy for that snake to eat them. Second, you need to realize that the river is not a human playground for your kids, it's an important ecosystem in which snakes such as the one in the video play an important niche. I hope you stay home and enjoy your backyard instead of going out and killing snakes, you don't like them, don't go into habitats in which they live.
Finally someone who helps a rattlesnake instead of killing it! Thank you, thank you, thank you. These other people on YouTube need to be educated and shown how to properly relocate an animal rather than kill it.
That is a wonderful video. It's so nice to see people be understanding and appreciative of the important role that top predators play in the environment.
Absolutely awesome video. Thanks for making the effort to save such a beautiful creature. Like all wildlife snakes are a valuable part to the whole of our wildlife.
Thats really cool,love them rattlers

Thanks for rescuing the snake. It is awful the way most people treat our legless friends. Most will just freak and try to kill them. Kudos to you.

Thank you very much. Rattlesnakes are so cool. That damn rattle can give you such an adrenalin rush when you hear it in person.

Here in south west NE, I had 4 dogs on my farm over the years, all 4 were bitten by rattlers and two dogs died.
I loose a few calves yearly to rattlers. each worth near $1,000.
so here I kill things that endanger my pets, and cost me money.
I hope you that love snakes keep them far away from us if you want them to live.
thank you
