I'm 47 years old, I listen blackmore from 14 when he get Deep Purple... And I think there's no guitarist like him... for me the best of all the times... many tried to imit him but he's only the one... Gates of Babylon... Still I`m sad, Child in time, Stargazer....
OK the man is not using any tricks or mimicked repetative runs or over used scales. He is simply playing as good as I've seen him play. How in the world do you go outside the framework of things, play a piece of artistry all your own and stay right in the millisecond of the song. there's just no way.
I've seen Blackers 17 times live now, starting with Edinburgh Ingliston in 1980. People said I would grow out of all 'that rubbish'. Tell you what.......they were talking shite, ha ha!!! The man is a genius.
People can watch a clip of Blackers, when he can't be bothered, and think "Why all the fuss about this guy?" Then, when he is in the mood and plays like this, with THOSE bends and THAT vibrato, mixed in with superb melodic lines.....he is in a different class to all those shredders who repeat scales and arpeggios as fast as they can until it sounds like there is a bumble bee in your skull!!!! Watch the Hunting Humans from this concert, his play out at the end is phenomenal.
@gh103 and they also tend to forget that the good musician is the one who plays fast but primarily - writes good music, as Ritchie does. OIn contrast with all those bumblee bees who can only compose three or four note accords...
damn, another solo proving Ritchie shreds, whenever he feels like it, and without losing a bit of melodicism in the process, something most of the post Yngwie shredders have a tough time with.
OKAY, I'm putting my strat down, I'm putting it in its' case, I'm locking the case, I'm going to store it in the darkest, most remote corner of my crawlspace in the sub-basement, don't think I'm going to even attempt to play it for a little while. Quite simply one of the most concise,Valhalla-ascending,addictive desserts of six string ecstasy ever conceived and delivered in the live pantheon. Courtesy of the Bobby Fischer/Ludwig von Beethoven of the Fender Stratocaster. Viva,Sir Blackmore!
excelente temazo de rainbo grande blackmores es el mejor creativo de todos por formar cada agrupacion con excelentes musicos y vocales grande rainbow lo mejor
I've not heard this live before, and was just wondering "how's Ritchie going to deal with the acoustic bit?" Answer: in the way only Blackers can! Amazing.

At 4:29 Blackmore must think something like "Now the time has come to blow every other guitarist in this universe away..."

@lw48wp4 - exactly, as if what he did at 2:54-2:57 wasn't enough already... Yikes...

@orange70383 I am tempted to say "with great difficulty" - but that doesn't appear to be the case...

No wonder he's not particularly impressed by other guitarists such as Malmsteen and Hendrix.
