@mafiaman109 you go through the same process the last step in becoming a pilot is where they assign you. You get to list your preferences, but ultimately it's their decision of what you will fly ( I've looked into this a lot because I really want to be a fighter pilot )
@devineshadow1 To become a fighter pilot these days you need a recognized degree, which will then be followed up by the training (if you get accepted).

I always grew up with the intent of actually making it my goal to become a military pilot, even though I do not like the military. It's the only reason I would join, but now I realize it can't happen because of my shi#@y vision, and i messed up in high school. It makes me mad that I am not lucky enough, its brought tears to me. I saw a pilot the other day where I work at a grocery store, and asked him if he was a pilot, and he said ya, and went on like I was no one. If only I was that lucky...
@scolen3 if you dont like the military then dont be a pilot for it be a commercial pilot. being a pilot in the us air force is one of the highest honors, so you should want to be in the military if you want that.

well i wasn't a teen in the 90's, just born in the 94, i didn't find the song gay at all, i personally like songs from the 90's, but in either case, just let haters hate. they'res always going to be someone to hate. just forget em, cuz your not gonna change their minds and you'll waste time on em.
i don't give a fuck for haters anymore on videos like these, it just proves how little respect they have, how little they know, and how caught up they are with todays shit music by Gucci
@Sharod101 born in 93, but i had already a situation awareness when i was a child. But yeah, "haters gonna hate" is a common catch phrase in the internet

I know a guy in the acadamy. He says if you can make it through the first year, then you are set. That first is just when they try and weed out those who cannot handle the pressure.
I myself hope to be a pilot in either AF or Navy. Im hoping a 4.25 (soon higher when i get in AP classes), a good college degree, and desire will be enough! Great video too dude!
For the longest time I've wanted to be a Pilot, but I didn't do too well during High school (Graduated last year) It wasn't due to bad grades, I just couldn't stand sitting a chair "learning" useless things from teachers who didn't want to be there.
Anyone know the chances of becoming a pilot as an Enlisted Airman (through OTS)? I'm not sure how the process works, I'm still getting ready to get serious with a recruiter. (i.e. getting fit)
Most Airforces do not recognise any prior pilot licencing as it is not relevant to the aircraft u will fly but it is helpful for you to show major interest in being a pilot
I'm 14 and this is definately my future... but the only thing i have doubts about is landing on an aircraft carrier, which i dont think the air force has to.. just the navy
Im 12 years old and my dream is to become a fighter pilot what do i have to do to become one.??... And can i just like go to the air force right after high scool or I have to go to collage???...Please some one reply.... :)
You can do it through the Air Force, Navy, or Marines. Do some research on the Naval Academy and the Air Force Academy. Also, look up Air Force's ROTC and OTS, and Navy's ROTC and OCS programs. Most important for you to do is to focus on school and get good grades. You will need to graduate from college with a bachelors degree before you can be commissioned as an officer and sent to flight school.
you have to be in good shape, you have to have good marks and yes you need to finish high school, you must have Math and Physics during high school to to apply too.
Remember you need very good grades and a good body so join a sport and study, and you'll get into the air force, and when you're there remember, NOT TO QUIT, I had 2 mates that went to the AF but they quit cause it was too harsh, waking up early and stuff.
I really want to become a fighter pilot bbut my parents are really against me going into "the service". So I am trying to figure out how I am going to get flight lessons. I'm 15 almost 16
if you live in the USA you can join civil air patrol I think, i live in the UK and am aspiring to be a fighter pilot, i joined air cadets 2 months ago and love it, been flying 4 times already and flown a loop-the-loop!
CAP in the States, Air Cadets in the UK and Canada are definitely the very first thing to do if you intend to join the Air Force as a fighter pilot eventually.
You also have the Royal Australian Air Force Cadets for ausies, NZ Cadets, Royal Belgian Air Cadets, etc ...
Listen i've done a lot of research on my time on hwo to become a fighter pilot, helo pilot, commercial airline pilot, and other things in the military, and things outside the military. if you need information, or a way to work things out for your situations and want to know your options, contact me. i've spoken to all the recruiters and i can tell you whats true and what isn't. go on my page, send me an email or just comment right there.
...not from the propagand things such as serve your country etc.. By the way, doing this job isnt serving your country but your president with is the chief off all army, and thats a bit different. For ending the discussion, many pilots go to liners career after the army, i dont think you serve your country as the way you think it when you are a liner. My conclusion is; the pleasure of flying is the priority.
I have to disagree with you "golfcharlie" as you said a load of bullshit in your last comment. Flying, whatever if its for fighting or linning or personal use is always a pleasure. For being sucess to reach a career of fighter pilot witch is really attractive for everyone, you have to think about it before you reach even 16 or 17 years old as you have to be highly qualified for that. They investing a lot, at least 5 years of study for doing this. And the motivation come from the job..
After i graduate colledge im joining the airforce just like my older cuzin and i hopefuly will get to serve with him, i want to be a fighter pilot, my dream is to fly planes and serve my country
i advise to watch "zeitgeist addendum" (it's on youtube), than you can go to air force to use goverment toys for your pleasure without this stupid obligation in your mint "to serve my country". realy man, check this movie out, you will be stunned :) good luck with jets! cheers
You missed the point, most of the fighter pilots if not all do their job in the first place to serve their country, and only after that comes the pleasure to fly the plane.
The fact that we do care about our respective countries doesn't involve your opinion but ours.
no no, that You miss the point. im talking about mindless respecting orders of people with power. It's very romantic to live with this thought im mind, but it's not like that. and im talking about counciousness politics of that what goverments doing. Becouse in many many many cases good people suffering becouse of business of govements.
you are funny guys to ask about the training, the weight required etc...You should more thinking about are you highly graduated in physic math and/or science? Are you good at mental calculation? So good that you could beet 100 to 250 other graduated candidates and get hired for the second selection round? If you can answer YES to ALL that, then MAYBE you ll become a fighter pilot some day ;)
yup ur right! im at a communtiy college right now! im gunna be transferin innext yr at UT with prolly around 3.5 maybe a lil higher if i wrk my ass off. man im dying to make the rotc over there. i want to became a pilot so bad. u gotta wrk hard and be the best of the best joke.
i have been in raf cadets for 9 yrs and in 2 yrs i get to start my pilot training sessions if you are a young gun who wants to be a pilot try a game called escape or something lke that it would get your reactions up if you can beat 139.6 seconds your beating me and you should be able to get in the raf as long as your physically prepared
Wow people like tydizzler will never even be allowed to set foot on a regular passenger plane... 85% of the people herewho say that want to be a pilot are probably 5-14 and need to see what the real job requirements are LOL...
They didn't take me for ROTC, so I'm just going to keep a high GPA and do what I can to get into OTS, no other way in. Wish me luck...
You need to be a commissioned officer to be a pilot, that means going through a military academy or officer training school which is a 13 week course. And height reqs are around 5''5 to 5'11, but ive seen tall pilots you can be taller theoreticly cuz the measure from ur waiste to ur feet then from urr waist to the crown of your head. no worse then 20/70 vision that can be corrected to 20/20
If you truly have what it takes to be a pilot, you wouldn't be asking on a YouTube video. You would be researching on the internet, reading books from the library, and contacting your ROTC officers.
ROTC is a very demanding program. It's difficult to attend college and be in ROTC. You have to keep yourself from getting caught up in the party life and study every night. Pilots also have a mandatory 10 year service commitment. Government doesn't just let anyone fly multimillion dollar aircraft.
New Zealand serving all over the world MY ASS! NZs only jets are outdated and are currently rusting away under shitty covers exposed to the elements, and the Air Force pilot positions are non combatant helicopters and Hercules'. Fuck you govt. THERE GOES MY DREAM CAREER
Blame that twat. What's wrong with Hercs?? They are combatant as in they actually go into warzones. RNZAF is liek the RAAF, fighters NEVER go anywhere except on exercise. I flew RAAF C130H in Afghanistan and it was awesome, so stop yer bitching and join up to fly :)
Kevin- There is an amazing movie named "Speed and Angels" where two young people go onto become F-14 pilots. One of them at one point is called into ground combat and provides air support with the front mounted gun and even has a SAM shot at him.
As far as commitment, I believe that NROTC is 4 years active and 4 reserve.
If you go through aviation, its 10 years from the point you srtart flight school.
I'm saying that to discourage some people here who "like" or are excited by the profession. Most of them do not realize that this means dedicating at least 10 years of your life to serving your country. Many do not see that the job is not flying around and coming home, its training every day. Then if you are extremely lucky, you possibly see some ground combat and you will most likely have to make the decision to kill others. Many here don't know, I'm just making it easier for some.
dude, it's not like that. They never seve ground combat, there ina plane that's a thousand feet above the ground, and even if they're doing a really low fly by they're goin about 500-600 knots. Never get hit. It's fun. And it's more like 20, but you can get out with a letter of resignation anytime
Good luck mate, hope you get your dream. I plan to become a chopper pilot in a few years, nothing military or as fast paced as that. Jets would be sweet as, but i don't want it taking up my entire life. I would like to learn to fly a plane though. I love flying, i think there is little as amazing or fulfilling ever as piloting man-made machinery to fly high in the sky.
Well, I've shopped around at the Marines recruiting center- went through their enlisting BS and took the ASVAB. I passed with a grade high enough to be considered for ROTC on the standard one they give, the real one is easier.
The Naval recruiting station I went to helped me get through with my ROTC application, and it was a decent amount of work to do. I know because I've spent over 2 years reading up on the requirements from forums to hundreds of sites.
same here ive recently gotten so into fighter jets. It looks so awesome to be able to fly one of these. Im not sure if all the physical training is worth it though and like he said the "real" job of a fighter pilot isnt what you usually see on youtube...
I want this so bad i have a 3.35 in 9th grade .....ive wanted to fly since they asked me what i wanted to do in kindergarden......but if i can i wana go to usafa
No the worst your vision can be is 20/50 correctable to 20/20

@bf2lover42
well i wasn't a teen in the 90's, just born in the 94, i didn't find the song gay at all, i personally like songs from the 90's, but in either case, just let haters hate. they'res always going to be someone to hate. just forget em, cuz your not gonna change their minds and you'll waste time on em.
i don't give a fuck for haters anymore on videos like these, it just proves how little respect they have, how little they know, and how caught up they are with todays shit music by Gucci

I hope i will attend the Air Force Academy in 2 years !

Doobz702 2 years ago
Most Airforces do not recognise any prior pilot licencing as it is not relevant to the aircraft u will fly but it is helpful for you to show major interest in being a pilot
WickedLy15 2 years ago
believe me, a Glider pilot license is very helpfull

I'm 14 and this is definately my future... but the only thing i have doubts about is landing on an aircraft carrier, which i dont think the air force has to.. just the navy

Im 12 years old and my dream is to become a fighter pilot what do i have to do to become one.??... And can i just like go to the air force right after high scool or I have to go to collage???...Please some one reply.... :)
ffernie12 2 years ago
You can do it through the Air Force, Navy, or Marines. Do some research on the Naval Academy and the Air Force Academy. Also, look up Air Force's ROTC and OTS, and Navy's ROTC and OCS programs. Most important for you to do is to focus on school and get good grades. You will need to graduate from college with a bachelors degree before you can be commissioned as an officer and sent to flight school.
retaliaterv 2 years ago
you have to be in good shape, you have to have good marks and yes you need to finish high school, you must have Math and Physics during high school to to apply too.
Remember you need very good grades and a good body so join a sport and study, and you'll get into the air force, and when you're there remember, NOT TO QUIT, I had 2 mates that went to the AF but they quit cause it was too harsh, waking up early and stuff.
But, after you end it, IT'S WORTH IT
Bullseye7321 2 years ago
In Pakistan, you can go after high school, dunno about other countries, it's tough to get selected though but not impossible

Freddo111L 2 years ago
CAP in the States, Air Cadets in the UK and Canada are definitely the very first thing to do if you intend to join the Air Force as a fighter pilot eventually.
You also have the Royal Australian Air Force Cadets for ausies, NZ Cadets, Royal Belgian Air Cadets, etc ...

Such as....?
(Not disagreeing)
FighterJetsChannel 2 years ago
...not from the propagand things such as serve your country etc.. By the way, doing this job isnt serving your country but your president with is the chief off all army, and thats a bit different. For ending the discussion, many pilots go to liners career after the army, i dont think you serve your country as the way you think it when you are a liner. My conclusion is; the pleasure of flying is the priority.
flyingeagle357 2 years ago
I have to disagree with you "golfcharlie" as you said a load of bullshit in your last comment. Flying, whatever if its for fighting or linning or personal use is always a pleasure. For being sucess to reach a career of fighter pilot witch is really attractive for everyone, you have to think about it before you reach even 16 or 17 years old as you have to be highly qualified for that. They investing a lot, at least 5 years of study for doing this. And the motivation come from the job..
flyingeagle357 2 years ago
After i graduate colledge im joining the airforce just like my older cuzin and i hopefuly will get to serve with him, i want to be a fighter pilot, my dream is to fly planes and serve my country
ukiledkenny 2 years ago
i advise to watch "zeitgeist addendum" (it's on youtube), than you can go to air force to use goverment toys for your pleasure without this stupid obligation in your mint "to serve my country". realy man, check this movie out, you will be stunned :) good luck with jets! cheers
juhuok 2 years ago
A "stupid obligation to serve your country" ?
You missed the point, most of the fighter pilots if not all do their job in the first place to serve their country, and only after that comes the pleasure to fly the plane.
The fact that we do care about our respective countries doesn't involve your opinion but ours.
golfcharlie232 2 years ago
no no, that You miss the point. im talking about mindless respecting orders of people with power. It's very romantic to live with this thought im mind, but it's not like that. and im talking about counciousness politics of that what goverments doing. Becouse in many many many cases good people suffering becouse of business of govements.

So good that you could beet 100 to 250 other graduated candidates and get hired for the second selection round? If you can answer YES to ALL that, then MAYBE you ll become a fighter pilot some day ;)

NitroHeadZ28 2 years ago
i wanan be an airforce piolt, can anybody tell me about the training and requirements,do u have to jump from planes, and if so what height
tydizzler 2 years ago
Google is your best friend. Use it!
bonlu123 2 years ago 2
You need to be a commissioned officer to be a pilot, that means going through a military academy or officer training school which is a 13 week course. And height reqs are around 5''5 to 5'11, but ive seen tall pilots you can be taller theoreticly cuz the measure from ur waiste to ur feet then from urr waist to the crown of your head. no worse then 20/70 vision that can be corrected to 20/20
wtfareuserious 2 years ago
there's height requirements?! I'm 6'1 and pretty skinny, It would be wayyy harder for me taking G's but would they even let me in???
guitarclaydo 2 years ago
IT really depends. They take height measurements from your waist to your feet and then waist to the crown of your head
wtfareuserious 2 years ago
Your legs have to be less than a certain length because if you eject your legs might rip off. Take a G test and find out lool

Sorry, but if you have to ask for career advice on YouTube, then you clearly have problems. =)
TonyDog360 2 years ago
If you truly have what it takes to be a pilot, you wouldn't be asking on a YouTube video. You would be researching on the internet, reading books from the library, and contacting your ROTC officers.
ROTC is a very demanding program. It's difficult to attend college and be in ROTC. You have to keep yourself from getting caught up in the party life and study every night. Pilots also have a mandatory 10 year service commitment. Government doesn't just let anyone fly multimillion dollar aircraft.

NitroHeadZ28 3 years ago
I'm saying that to discourage some people here who "like" or are excited by the profession. Most of them do not realize that this means dedicating at least 10 years of your life to serving your country. Many do not see that the job is not flying around and coming home, its training every day. Then if you are extremely lucky, you possibly see some ground combat and you will most likely have to make the decision to kill others. Many here don't know, I'm just making it easier for some.
NitroHeadZ28 3 years ago 2
dude, it's not like that. They never seve ground combat, there ina plane that's a thousand feet above the ground, and even if they're doing a really low fly by they're goin about 500-600 knots. Never get hit. It's fun. And it's more like 20, but you can get out with a letter of resignation anytime

my whole life is gonna be the Air force till i retire im going to college, gonna try to compete for an officer rank. should be pretty cool
mortarlover123 3 years ago
Good luck mate, hope you get your dream. I plan to become a chopper pilot in a few years, nothing military or as fast paced as that. Jets would be sweet as, but i don't want it taking up my entire life. I would like to learn to fly a plane though. I love flying, i think there is little as amazing or fulfilling ever as piloting man-made machinery to fly high in the sky.

Luke- How do I know?
Well, I've shopped around at the Marines recruiting center- went through their enlisting BS and took the ASVAB. I passed with a grade high enough to be considered for ROTC on the standard one they give, the real one is easier.
The Naval recruiting station I went to helped me get through with my ROTC application, and it was a decent amount of work to do. I know because I've spent over 2 years reading up on the requirements from forums to hundreds of sites.
