Skilled..... definitely not tryin to take anything away from you.... but just stayed in the same note range the whole time so kinda repetitive... the original has its epic high energy chorus just ramp it up a tad :)

yeah this one definitely deserved to win.. everyone else did something that Lifehouse would've done, or felt like the original, voice and all.. this one had a little bit of that laidback john mayer soulful\blues style, with a great voice, a complete different vision from the original that worked on its own yet still has essence from the original.. ppl should learn from this cover.. "make it into your own vision"... listening to the two songs, they are completely different..

I don't think the band necessarily was thinking they wanted different arrangements of their song. But, you can't ignore how well this guy captivated the feeling of the lyrics and expressed it incredibly well within his own style instead of trying to make it sound like the band when it really isn't his style. There's a lot more to making great music than most people realize.
