Fuck both Canadians/Americans they are both being kicked in their asses and are just looking where to run away. I think you guys should've learnt some lessons from the past. What happend to the Britains and USSR in Afghanistan will be the fate of NATO and damn its happening UFF! :P~
These medals are well deserved no doubt. but some of these acts in my opinion rate the Victoria cross? That is the highest medal for valour in the CF. What does a solder today have to do to be awarded that? Don't get me wrong I am not trying to down blay the medals these brave men and others deserve, but in hearing the details of what some of our troops did I have to wonder why no VC's have been awarded during this campaign?
@MegaWolfgang Victoria cross is british. The only reason Canadians got it in WWI and WWII was because we were still considered part of the commonwealth.
@MrRileyCoyote You need to check your facts my friend. Canada is still part of the common wealth, and the Queen is still head of state. Thus the Victoria Cross is still the highest medal for valor in the Canadian forces. The only difference now is that the inscription for Canada says Pro Valour, rather than For Valour. Check out DND and you will see that the VC is still Canada's top military honor.
@MegaWolfgang In order to get a VC, you have to die/sacrifice for someone..I'm a cadet..and this MWO of my corps got a VC...because he pushed his gf out of the traintracks..and he got run over...
Military Job is to go after other Military, when Canada gets involved when not attacked not a British state, not a Church just look at the flag it has a leaf although these scants from Nova and Newfy or Edmonton are on some prejudice they seem foreign even with in our land, Europeans should not under estimate Canadians on Canadian soil their operation belong in their own nations, how can blame anyone in Afghan fighting you that is not Afghan? they accept white Christians not foreign Muslim?
My highest praise and thanks to all Canadian service members who have helped my country in Afghanistan. I will be coming to Canada for vacation this summer. If I happen to run into any Canadian service members, I will not hesitate to give thanks.
may i suggest visiting northen ontario, bc or alberta if its the scenery your coming for.. if its the night life check out toronto or montreal both good spots
I just came back from vacation and we visited Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa back in late May. We had a great time despite the cold weather. Our tour guide mentioned that Canada has about 8 to 9 months of cold weather annually but I don't know if that is true. We've visited the La Citadel de Quebec with our tour group. I thanked the Canadian soldiers there for their services!
haha, canada has various regions with varrying temperatures... where i live.. we get about 3-4 warm months.. but then again.. my definition of warm might differ from somone from ex. florida or texas or something haha...
make sure you hit the gym and dont underestimate the PT for recruitment i wasnt prepared (push ups lol) only took me a month or two of wieghttraining to gain arm muscle and then past no problem ( see if your school counsellor can get you into a wieght training like class in grade 10 say it will help you start a career)
@C2LG I think the world of the canadian soldiers, however the harper government treats some like shit.
Captain Robert Semrau, is charged with 2nd degree murder for plugging an insurgent. If the shoe was on the other foot that Taliban bastard would have beheaded him. If i was a soldier id walk off the fuckin job. No one needs a stupid liability ike that hanging over thier head. Harper should put on a uniform and go to Afganistan, it would man outa him.
On November 11, 2008 Los Angeles sports radio host Jim Rome referred to Canadian soldiers as cowards. I strongly encourage people to contact him at : rome@haveatake. c o m
Oh Canada Our home and native land True, patriot love In all thy sons command With glowing hears We see, the rise The true north strong an free From far and wide Oh Canada We stand on guard for thee God keep our land Glorious, and free Oh Canada we stand on guard for thee Oh Canada we stand on guard for thee
